TNedchat is a way for educators in Tennessee to share thoughts, resources, and information. The weekly chat is moderated by Jessica Warner (@jessawarner) and Samantha Bates (@sjsbates).
A1: When you don't notice it but a lesson is going well. Or you do notice it and it is transforming the learning into something not previously possible without tech. #tnedchat

I'm Andy from TX. A1: I think part of the answer is defining what "tech integration" means. Is it just Ss on devices, or is it more about WHAT they are doing on the devices? #tnedchat

A1: When kids are excited and teacher can explain it in ways that makes it easy to use. (and believe me, I have experienced many times when it wasn't working). #TnEdChat
A2 We are working hard at our school to create a graduate profile for technology skills and outcomes we want our students to have but it doesn't come easy. #tnedchat
A2: Some, when Ss tell me they have connected something they did in my class with something they were doing in another class. But OFTEN, they are working on remedial skills lessons (Had a rough week this week trying to teach difference between copyright and plagiarism) #TnEdChat
A1 (sort of) if it makes the lesson and planning and implementation more difficult then it is noticeable and probably needs to be rethought. Shouldn't make life harder #tnedchat
It directs teachers to use tech first and as the solution for learning. There are many tools that can be used teach something better than tech. #TnEdChat

A2: that depends on school and teacher. While they are natives, they know how to use tech interwoven in their lives. However, they are not always productive in that integration. That needs to be modeled and taught. Modeled well, I should add. #tnedchat
If you walk in a classroom is it easier to determine if a student has modified the content or are the Engaged (E level of PAGER)? SAMR is more a challenge to identify. #tnedchat

A2: Generally speaking, most experiences Ss have with tech in schools is "consumption" of content. I always looks for way for them to "create"content. It's more real world. #tnedchat
A2: not necessarily, depends on the Ts...some teach digital citizenship, research&use tech to support goals but others only use tech bc they feel it’s required or don’t use it all & others don’t plan tech w/learning objectives in mind& Ss lack digital citizenship skills #tnedchat
A3 I think I am good at tech integration ideas but I feel I have room for growth in regards to looking for ways to integrate STEM into every classroom #tnedchat
a3 I think mine is above average but I can't stop because I will get behind each day, always trying to get better, watch classes, help others and model #tnedchat
A3) I would call myself a learning in need of growth. I plan to continue to learn in every way I can from Pd in my PJs to conferences and MeetUps. #TnEdChat
A3 Jedi Master with instructional tech. I continue growing through continuous play. Spent much of today troubleshooting an Arduino nano controlled LED matrix and then tried to teach my 17-month old to use Dash n Dot... emphasis on tried. I learn by doing #TnEdChat
A2 Yes and No. It really is not about the Tech but how we use it to match students with knowledge & challenges. How we broaden the perspective open new pathways, & explore new possibilities. There will always be new tech! We only have these kids for a little while. #TNEDCHAT
A3. Between being 1:1 for 4-12 grades for the first time ever, having two tech coaches, plus a PD lab just for teachers, our tech integration is rapidly moving forward, and it’s so exciting to watch! #TnEdChat
A3 Never high enough. I plan to learn something new everyday. Just like today when a student taught me something from a new version of a podcast system I had not upgraded. #LOVEIT!!!! #TNEDCHAT
A3: in my old job, I felt like I constantly sought out new tech resources to learn & grow, now I lean on tech to improve efficiency & seek resources to grow myself for improving #tnedchat
A3b: I think it is important to keep a growth mindset in regards to edtech because if you are content with the tools you use, you are outdated in 3 years. Always push yourself to learn more #tnedchat
The excitement level isn’t the same...used to get excited over every new resources I came across & now I find value/excitement when it saves me time or improves efficiency #tnedchat
A3- Hi guys, Katie from Tipton County. I have limited access to tech but I started a #legorobotics program W/ my afterschool group. thanks to WTN stem hub. #TnEdChat
A3b seriously though, Ed tech evolves so quickly, I try to focus more on practical applications than on mastering all available tech. I can’t stay up with all of it, so I just keep trying to add to my tool belt and master specific components before moving on. #TnEdChat
A4 I'm always looking for ways to fund technology for our students in inventive ways. I never want Ss to not be able to MEET an ISTE STUDENT STD because of tools #tnedchat
A3: used to work w/ Ts & evaluated then introduced tech resources that Ss could use for learning, now when the opportunity comes along I inform Admin about tech opportunities that support their goals #tnedchat
A4: we set our budget on a cycle and review device refreshes with teacher input to make sure tech meets learning needs. Next round will include parent and student input. I rely on colleagues on their experiences heavily on what to research and present as options. #tnedchat
A4) we do a lot of training and try to expose Ts to as much tech as possible. Exposing Ts often leads to increased for Ss. That, and the tech lending library we run at https://t.co/znpBQsQmuh#tnedchat
A4: I ensure students have access to tech tools by training and providing teachers with tech tools. I also have a dedicated fundraiser each year for #STEM so that money is available to purchase resources #tnedchat
6, 7, 8 - bi-monthly meetings for anyone interested (20-35 attending) and then bi-monthly for First Lego League (only 10 in this group - my first time). Using 3d printing, spheros, Ev3's and whatever they are interested in that I can get my hands on. #TnEdChat
No model really. We seek to hit the 4 C's: curation, consumption, connection, creation. We also strives to meet our technology student outcomes that are based on the iste stds for students #tnedchat
A5: the differentiated teacher model...used to SAMR & TPACK as a guide but I truly tried to work with individual teachers to help then grow based on their ability, comfort & tech access #tnedchat
A5 I have made my own model. But mostly I let students select the tech to use. Students need to be the decision makers to what tools is best for a task #TnEdChat
A5 MINE: Know your kids, explore the tech, make a match, tweek, retweek, evaluate, ask the kids, & decide. Does it improve feedback? Does it provide opportunity? Does it support diverse learners/learning? What is the cost/reward benefit? #TNEDCHAT
A3 I would consider myself fairly comfy w/ school tech, but that is all relative to what I'm doing. The minute I consider myself an expert at something I find another tech to conquer and that is how I keep my edge. Late to the party #tnedchat
A6- Fave tech tool my projector so we can all see the screen. 😆 I love talking to artists & going on virtual field trips with #skypefortheclassroom 💻 #TnEdChat
