A1: Finding multiple ways to communicate is important! Communication is the key to ANY org. Parents, Teachers and the community love to be in the know! #CFISDchat
A1: we have many plans within the building, but with communityamd district I love the power of Twitter for sharing the positives from our campus - lessons and attitudes and outcomes! #CFISDchat
A1: focus on customer service!! From first contact at receptionist, to teachers, APs, administrators, paras, custodians, treat all with #respect and smile! Love, Serve, Care establishes that for us @CypressParkHS#cfisdchat
A1 Getting your name out there ALL year! At @CFISDWells we use #explorewells all year long to give parents a look into our school. We even did a #WellsSummerSelfie challenge & some parents joined in! Make them feel like it’s their school too bc it is! #cfisdchat
A1: Outdoor, as well as indoor activities can bridge the community gap - great way to introduce students to teachers, teachers to families , staff and Ss to the community ‼️ #CFISDchat
A1: Since I’m not in classroom, I feel like this is best done “in” the community. I act as if people are always watching and always wanting to know about what is going on in CyFair schools. #publicschooladvocate#cfisdchat
A1: Seek input, provide opportunities for S,T,P to be heard. I use google survey with staff, you can use SM to share important info. When you seek input you have to listen too! #cfisdchat
A1 SHARE! Share all the awesome your school is doing. Share across multiple platforms. Invite ppl from the community to share their career/perspective with your Ss #CFISDchat
A1 Showing energy and effort at any before school “express” or meet the teacher— kids want a teacher who is excited to see them and kids like the day starting with that! #cfisdchat
A1: build strong relationships & work at those relationships. Be a model of positivity. Positive and open communication. Teachers & staff promote the school to the community through @Twitter using school #. #ExploreWells#cfisdchat
A1 community outreach! Have low income families? Have a food/clothing/toy drive. Host events!!! For the families that can't attend them, visit their homes/apartments. Be visible! Show you care about their kids beyond a school setting. #CFISDchat#kidsdeserveit
A1: I think the first step is to engage with your parents from day one. If as just the classroom teacher your parents know you well then that fosters a positive community #CFISDchat
A1: showing your excitement about your school, students, school year, vision through Twitter and in each encounter you have (Meet the Teacher, Curriculum Night, registration, etc.) Customer service & marketing your school whenever possible! #CFISDchat
A1: Communication for sure!! I think it’s great to be transparent and be able to show all the great things their children get to be a part of! #CFISDchat
A1 #CFISDchat Start communicating with parents now, even before school starts. We have Kahla Express coming up & it’s a great way to start engaging with parents right away & showing all the great things happening this school year. 🙌🏻 Communication is 🔑!
#cfisdchat A1 - SHow up! SHow up on your website, on social media, Remind, etc but also show up to sporting events, club events, etc inside and outside school. And be sure to represent with your school shirt!
A1 A great way to build a positive school environment is using your Twitter account. It opens the door to your classroom or school and offers a platform to share the positive, the fun, and the information! #CFISDchat
A1: Give public shout outs to any community members that support the school in any way. Invite them up to volunteer it as a guest at special events. #cfisdchat
A1: Spend time getting to know/re-know your Ts and Staff. We send postcards from advisory Ts to every student before school. Posting welcome @Flipgrid by each T. 6th grade camp, Bengal Express. It’s such a fun time to build excitement and anticipation #CFISDchat#WeAreSalyards
A1: I build positive relationships with my Ss and their families by being transparent and personable in my communication. I frequently post pictures on social media to allow parents and other community members to see what's happening in class. @CFISDchat#CFISDchat
A1 community outreach! Have low income families? Have a food/clothing/toy drive. Host events!!! For the families that can't attend them, visit their homes/apartments. Be visible! Show you care about their kids beyond a school setting. #CFISDchat#kidsdeserveit
A1 Attend "express" events before school starts to establish relationships with the community members. Start opening communication lines with parents when they visit your room through a welcome video/classroom newsletter. Communication is important! #cfisdchat
I feel like sometimes people underestimate the power of "joyful design" but it gives an IMMEDIATE impression and we should never turn down an opportunity to uplift! #CFISDchat
A1 Build positive relationships with all, school-sponsored community activities, Twitter to show off all the amazing happening inside. Be positive. #CFISDchat
A2: having a great foundation with your team/department/school means that you can trust everyone wants to improve the school community but also makes it fun to go to work! #CFISDchat
#CFISDchat. A2: For me, my team is my rock. They are who I celebrate 🎉 with and who I go to when I need support. I couldn’t do it without @BrownLeza and our #VITAL team!
A2: Team work makes the dream work!! Everyone needs to be rowing in the same direction for us to make headway and be successful!! They are your best support system when things get tough. #CFISDchat
My team, the PEAM team, shares common goals and values, particularly with addressing the diverse needs of so many at once- we try our best to share this advice with others on our campus‼️ #CFISDchat@cfisdfiest
A2 you have to have a strong trust in any relationship, get together informally, get to know each other deeply to form the foundation of trust and cohesiveness to support each other #cfisdchat
A2: The team is a group that will be there for you! As a leader we want to grow others and build their capacity, but it is equally as important to gain insight from them. #cfisdchat
A2 Your team is everything to your success. Your team needs to realize that teamwork makes the dream work! :) If we are all working at our best and coming up with the best ideas, the kids will also succeed. #cfisdchat
A2 Its best to head off problems before they become and issue. Its important because foundations are what give way to the most fruitful and productive lessons and collaborations #cfisdchat
A2: Anyone who has worked on multiple teams know how important a strong team can make or break your whole year! Invest in your team relationships! They pay off! #CFISDchat
A2: with a firm foundation in place early, the support and positivity can withstand some of the inevitable “craziness” that comes once school gets busy. #CFISDchat
A2: starting with forming strong relationships is the basis for all else! Nothing great happens in the absence of trust! If you do not spend time here you will pay dearly in time later! #cfisdchat
#cfisdchat A2 - Teams espouse the value of collaboration - we are stronger together! Having an opportunity to learn about one another (personalities, value systems, abilities) allows us to be able to work to our strengths & work smoothly
A2: Teaching isn’t a solo profession. We’re better together! Your team is there for you when you need it, and you can reciprocate it for them. #CFISDchat
A2: It is important to have a strong foundation in order to make the year come together for the students. Students and others can see when a team is weak. @CFISDchat#cfisdchat#ravensrise
A2: Without a strong foundation, you don’t have anything to fall back on when the tootsie rolls hit the fan! It is tough to remember why you’re doing what you do and to give each other benefit o/t doubt when you haven’t spent time making a vision together. #cfisdchat@CFISDchat
A2 it's important because your team is your biggest support! They will help carry you on days that you are not at your best. They truly need to understand you in order to help get through tough situations. Team builders are always a great idea! #CFISDchat
A2 The people on your team love, breathe, & teach with you day in & day out. They know the kids and we must all work together to help them become successful- w/out them you can’t perform the way you need to for OUR kids. Excited @CFISDWells4th#teamworkdreamwork#CFISDchat
A2 you need to be united in your vision for your grade. You (usually) share kids and they need to see that collaboration and positive relationship. And also, you're better together! #CFISDchat Excited for our @cfisdwells5th team this year! @TeachAguilarm@GarrettMandi@ahuckmath
A2: a strong team has to have a strong foundation to build from. When that's there, each other's strengths help compliment and support for the good of all. Teamwork makes the dream work! #CFISDchat
A2: they’re in the trenches with you! Building those relationships make the long days seem short & difficult days seem bearable. Paperwork can always wait. We had a welcome back Grill out today & it was AH-amazing to see everyone & have new Bengals meet their tribe! #CFISDchat
A1: Genuinely caring about Ss and Ts goes a long way in building a positive school environment!! Building trust with Ss and Ts and letting them know that you’re there for them is a great way to help make your school environment more positive #CFISDchat
A2: I ❤️ this question!! If you don’t have a strong support system behind you and people who you can lean on, every day is harder than it should be. Build relationships with your teammates, and crazy days might just be a little less crazy! #CFISDchat
A3 I love that our chemistry team at BHS has a running google hangout chat during the day; they are in different parts of the building but Are constantly connected— also breaking bread together and not being afraid to laugh together! #CFISDchat
#CFISDchat A3: once again, bring DONUTS and coffee. But also get to know your team. Spend time listening, not just waiting to talk. Hang out. Find your common interests.
A3 Smile more, don't focus on negative energy. Encourage new ideas and help them develop those ideas into successful techniques. Compliment hard work and effort that you see around the school. Create a healthy, positive environment! #CFISDchat#BeAHooverHero
A3 - When I opened @PostmaPumas, I invited the new team over for a get together by the pool! Kids came over too! I did it when I was a 1st yr IS at @WillbernES too! #CFISDchat#beproactive
A3: I think we have to listen! The more time we spend getting to know people, the stronger the team. Although, I can’t overemphasize the power of the group text! #cfisdchat
A3 Go out of your way for one another. Encourage, share, remember we all have bad days and different ideas, but most of all be kind and laugh together! #CFISDchat
A3 Don’t make it about you, make it about THEM! Ask for student input! I know I can get caught up in decorating my classroom “Pinterest” cute but leave some stuff “bare” & see what they want there! #CFISDchat
A1 Always work on building relationships with staff, students, and community. Learn kids’ names early and greet them by name every time I see them. Regularly acknowledge great things happening on campus. #CFISDchat
we get together outside of school we have a standing invite for anyone on wednesdays at a certain place! coming together socially is fun and we can support each other! #cfisdchat
A3 #CFISDchat I think it’s about being present & being a good listener. I’ve built strong relationships just by listening to my team & addressing their concerns. People don’t want to feel ignored.
A3: Take time to get to know them. Learn about things OUTSIDE of school. Be intentional about all your interactions. Strong relationships take time, but are so worth the reward. #cfisdchat
A3: Get to know them on a personal level. Ask them questions that allow you to understand them better. Ask them how they’re doing. It sounds super simple, but I think it goes a long way! #CFISDchat
A3. Team fills out form w/ favorites at beginning of the year. Favorite candy bars or sonic drinks are great personalized pick-me-ups after a rough day. #CFISDchat
Q2- when teams have a strong foundation, the members are willing to take more risks! Strong teams are comprised of people who push each other.
#CFISDchat
A3: Talk to them, play games, smile, acknowledge them. We have to be open & willing to walk up to people, get out of comfort zone. Smile, laugh & be goofy. Enjoy time together because the year gets crazy. Movie teams are my fave, right @Texas_Aggie_00! #CFISDchat
A3: Be vulnerable and open to looking through different lenses in order to see the “big picture”. I also heard that standing on a desk and doing a “trust fall” into your teams arms builds trust! #CFISDchat
A3: Be vulnerable, admit mistakes, get to know them personally, establish norms for meetings, listen, play together, have each other’s back, seek out feedback #cfisdchat
A1 purposeful PD with instant takeaways, inventory from your staff to plan our monthly staff morale events! When you ❤️ your staff, it’s all about #loveservecare#CFISDchat@CypressParkHS
A3 continued: As a coach who visits multiple campuses, I think that it is always important to spend time talking with people about other things that are going on at their school besides just what I am there for. #cfisdchat
A3 Have lunch together, participate in team building activities outside of work - or just spend time together outside of work! Tell people Hello and ask how they are doing! Offer to help if they are in need of something. #CfisdChat
A3 Get to know their interests outside of school. They become your family, you should ask them how they're doing and let them know you GENUINELY care. #CFISDchat
Escape Room was one of the best PD’s we’ve ever done. We sent every single team on campus-it was amazing! #CFISDChat@KylaMote convinced me to invest in it and it was worth it!
A3: plan for team time and make the effort to attend...your team and your staff become your second family, and you’ve got to carve out time to nourish those relationships! You spend too many hours a day with your team and staff to not make those relationships strong! #CFISDchat
A3: Intentional team building time built into meetings and social times. Everyone is busy but making time for purposeful getting to know each other conversations will contribute to a strong team and positive culture. #cfisdchat
A2: teams work better together when they have a positive and solid foundation. You only get that foundation by getting to know people and working cohesively #CFISDchat
A3: Our team (PEAM), makes it a point to standout and be heard - to not only bring life to our campus, but learning, as well. We love to create the culture‼️ #CFISDchat@cfisdfiest
A3: Be dependable. Follow through on what you say you’ll do and have an attitude that is consistent—doesn’t mean you’re always sunshine and rainbows (unless that’s your thing) but people need to feel comfortable coming to you anytime. #cfisdchat
#CFISDchat A3 We did something this year that was different. Since we have two new team members, we all filled out a questionnaire on ourselves...including our learning and working preferences! Eyeopening!
Q3 - learn a little about each team member and what they like to do outside of the school environment. Listen when people share. Be present!
#cfisdchat
A2 your foundation is your glue and sets the tone for the yr! We teach them lessons beyond the classroom. Our kids deserve our best. It’s all about them and modeled by US! #CFISDchat
A3: spend time getting to know your team members and establish those relationships early by being present and friendly (just like you would with your students) #CFISDchat
A3: you can build strong relationships by taking the time to get to know them. Listen and only listen. Not with the answer sitting in your head. Remember things about them personally. Be there to support them #CfisdChat
A1 💗 all the great community things the Fairfield schools do with the community: dances, Candy Cane Fun Run, Bengal Express and Roar Camp for 6th graders. We have a great fine arts & athletic programs that bring people in. #CFISDChat#WeAreSalyards 🐯
A1: Lines of communication must ALWAYS be open. Starting the day you get your class roster. I have never and will never be the teacher that doesn’t respond to a text/email “after my hours”. Show them you care. Don’t tell them. SHOW them. #CFISDchat
@CFISDchat#CFISDchat teambuilding requires folks to "be real" with one another. Providing opportunities for members to connect authentically & without pretense is vital to a team. Doing escape rooms/digital breakouts or challenge course activities helps facilitate realness
A2: Without a good foundation with your team, it makes the work so much more difficult. Collaboration and commaredie is key to make the days better. I would be nothing without my team. ❤ @CFISDchat#CFISDchat@BangElementary
A3: cont’d. Can’t wait for our Wells family social this Thursday! Including staff and their family members at school get-together is a great way to learn your staff and show them we value their families while building relationships with your school family! #CFISDchat
A3: Take the time to get to know the people on your team on a more personal level, just like we do with students. It's important to know who they are as individuals. #CFISDchat
A2: it makes things run a lot smoother. You know there isn’t an ulterior motive...just the shared vision at the forefront. Strong foundations build trust in one another....which leads to risk taking👊🏽 #cfisdchat
A4: You can create a classroom environment where students are safe by allowing students to take ownership of their learning and by letting them do some task in the classroom. #cfisdchat@CFISDchat#ravensrise
To feel a sense of belonging, students must be part of the process. Allow them the opportunity to collaborate with peers and their teacher to help establish norms/procedures of THEIR classroom and school. #CFISDchat
A3: be open , communicate and always make things light hearted as possible with jokes and laughter. I can be random / cheesy/ nerdy with my co workers but that's how I am. Hands down, I love the faculty and staff at my school . 🤗 @CFISDchat#CFISDchat
A4 Building relationships with kids is #1. That is the first priority always. Once you do that, everything else works. Having students make a class flipgrid/padlet of what they think respect in the classroom looks like is a great way for them to have a "say". #CFISDchat
A4 Make failing OK! Share how you overcame failure. Make sure you let students know you make mistakes, make mistakes on purpose to show them it happens to everyone. Also, give them CHOICE. #CFISDchat
A4: Lots of hugs and high fives! Celebrate every small victory. Model risk taking and failing forward. Start from day one with building relationships. Ensure that kids have a fresh start everyday. #cfisdchat
A4: By allowing Ss to have ownership of their learning, whatever that may look like in different classrooms, they can develop that feeling of safety in the classroom that will empower them as learners #CFISDchat
A4 have the students make a mural or design something that is their own so that they feel connected to the sxhool.. Let them express their feelings and aspirations. Validate them and foster a sense of belonging at your school. #CFISDchat
A4: seek out their input. What are their interests. Get them involved and give all students a voice and a chance to be heard! Keep the focus on them. Not us. #CFISDchat
A4: I love taking the time to write personal notes to students. Last year I used @Flipgrid for the students to introduce themselves to the class! They loved it! Doing this again! I also go to as many extra curricular activities as possible. They love to see you #CfisdChat
A4 Smile, seek out each and every student’s interest, and be their biggest cheerleader. Take an inventory on how they like to learn, and listen by implementing their ideas. #CfisdChat
A3: Get to know your teammates! Have them fill out a love page. You will know exactly what to get your teammate when they need some love. I also enjoy team meetings with away from school setting. #CFISDChat
A4 don’t make your classroom about you. It should point to a way that kids can work and that doesn’t always mean teacher at the front. Get student input from day 1 and don’t be afraid to get their genuine feedback even if you have to drag it out #CFISDchat
A4. Greet S every day. Let them know by words as well as actions that they are respected, cared for and appreciated each day. Also that each day is a fresh start. #CFISDchat
#cfisdchat A4 - Coming from a lower income school, I always show the kids respect immediately even before they showed it to me. They believe respect should be earned, so by showing it to them it started a positive relationship that developed trust over time.
A4: My favorite thing is to greet students cheerfully at car rider in the mornings and ask them about their day in the P.m.! I think it’s important to show students that they are a part of the school and everyone there cares for them, not just the classroom teacher. #CFISDchat
A4: They need to feel it belongs to them, because it does! Include them in decision making. On my summer vacation, I saw these in the airports. How great would this be if this was the last slide of the day on a presentation or as an exit ticket? #CFISDchat
A4: It starts with relationships. There has to be mutual respect amongst students. Then I think making the environment in the classroom@a place where students can actually share. Once the teacher gets involved, then you have a good community in the classroom. #cfisdchat
A4 Ts need to set up their home court advantage! When you let the Ss know something about you, they will share something about them! Have them help set up norms 🤓 #BuyIn#CFISDchat
A4: Together T & Ss build a classroom that feesl safe to speak their opinions, be respected for their opinions and feel safe enough to make a mistake or fail and know that they will be supported. #cfisdchat
A4:MODEL! Live the mantra that you speak in the classroom. By giving value to your students, embracing the diversity of the class and being honest and open with the students. If you're real & emulate that kind of atmosphere, it will be a safe environment. #CFISDchat@CFISDchat
A4: student choice when possible, ASK students their opinion and use it when making decisions about the classroom/school, teach the child, not the content/curriculum. #CFISDchat
This is so important! Its okay if we fail-- but Fail FORWARD. Fail FAST. Get up and try again-- its okay if we sometimes fail as long as we KEEP MOVING FORWARD #CFISDchat
#CFISDchat A4 When I taught MS, I used to stand in the hallway and talk to all my students as they walked through the door. I made sure they looked me in the eye and gave me a smile. I also ate lunch in my room and invited students to join me and just talk. I had 2 -3 daily!
A4: from the minute the students step in the classroom for the first time, they need to feel welcome. Spend a part of each day getting to know your students - simply asking them about their weekend or a high five can do wonders #CFISDchat
A4 Be genuinely interested in who they are as people and their feelings. Never stop showing interest in them. Be proud of every little accomplishment. Always be a constant source of love and encouragement. #CFISDchat
A4: Encourage Ss/Ts to be apart of events/clubs. Recognize achievements through Twitter, shout outs, etc. create moments where Ss/Ts feel ownership over what they do each day. I’ve seen so many great ideas from @salyardsms Ts this summer to incorporate student voice #CFiSDchat
#cfisdchat A4 cont'd - talk to the kids about their personal lives and show that you have invested in them. Offer to help, give advice, or just listen. They want to be heard and not just feel like a number.
A2 Thankful to have a wonderful 6th grade science team and a hallway partner in @Wunderlich3105. Everybody wants to feel like they have a voice and belong. Each person brings a different strength so that we can do what’s best for kids! #CFISDchat#WeAreBengals 🐯
A1: using the power of Twitter! It gives a direct view into the classrooms and in the school of all the fun and amazing things that students are doing. Being transparent gains the trust of the community where you can build those relationships. #cfisdchat@CFISDchat
A4: “Choice is Great!” is our philosophy in my art room. Giving students loads of opportunities for decision-making and creating their learning climate #CFISDchat@cfisdfiest
A4: PATIENCE! Have patience with Ss, coworkers, and yourself! Ss will feel safe when they know that the consequences of a mistake doesn’t involve sarcasm, yelling, or violence (my 2nd gr Tt grabbed/shook/yelled @ me b/c I was 4th in line for ✏️when the rule was 3 😳) #CFISDchat
A4: from the minute the students step in the classroom for the first time, they need to feel welcome. Spend a part of each day getting to know your students - simply asking them about their weekend or a high five can do wonders #CFISDchat
A3: Getting to know one another on a personal level builds strong relationships and a family feel. Investing time into relationship-building activities both at the beginning of the year and throughout is so important! #cfisdchat
A5: It may sound silly, but preparing my heart for this group of Ss that I’ve really haven’t encountered much helps me start building relationships with them. Caring about them before I even meet them keeps me open to getting to know them! #CFISDchat
A5: Just being part of this chat and getting so MANY great ideas for the year is a start to building relationships! We will be visible at new student registration next week. My amazing AP's (@SarahParkerAP & @KylaMote) sit at registration and meet with every family. #cfisdchat
A5 write personal messages for your students before meet the teacher. Have them know how EXCITED you are to have them! It may take awhile, but focus on how happy they will be ! #kidsdeserveit#CFISDchat
A5: Send some postcards, get kids enrolled in your Remind groups before school starts, invite them to connect with your teacher FB page, do some silly things to show them who you are (make a Blabberize) Show them you're interested in getting to know THEM too #cfisdchat@cfisdchat
A5: I had a few kiddos be silly and add their summer bday to my calendar. I've been calling them and surprising them. Also kids events are starting up. It's a great place to hang and check in on S and let them know I can't wait to see them at school soon. #CFISDchat
A3: Encourage and promote continual team building beyond the first week. We read points through @WorkplaceReward for going to lunch with a team member, all year long.
#CFISDchat
A5 Last year, during meet the T, we did a @Flipgrid for students to introduce themselves. Doing that again! I think it'd be great for Wells to create a grid and have each staff member create a video for Ss to go and find their new T! #CFISDchat
A5: Make yourself available! Write them letters before school starts! An email? Anything to initiate the contact early. First impressions are everything. #cfisdchat
A5 learn names; create activities to get to know them— setup a day where you can “hear from them” #flipgrid is a great way to show student voice!! #CFISDchat
A2: A foundation is important so u know u always have someone to lean on & ask for help. Some days u need help with content. Sometime u just need an listening ear. It's great to have those friends nearby! So happy at @kahlams our 6th math team is so close!
@CFISDchat#CFISDchat
A5: contact your Ss parents now before school start as a get to know you call. I enjoyed hearing from Ps about what they want time to know about their child! #CFISDchat
A5 With your kids not in the building yet start by planning amazing team building activities, time in your daily schedule (especially wk 1) to talk with each student, and make it a goal to greet each student at your entrance every day! #CFISDchat
A5 #CFISDchat Start brainstorming all the ways you will build those relationships. Have a plan in place & set a goals for yourself. Reflect on what did or did not work for you in the past.
A5: We sent our a 6th grade only digital breakout to get Ss use to some of our PBIS terminology and have a connect to Beaux the Bengal! We have ROAR camp, Athletic & Bengal Express, send postcards! Post to social media #CFISDchat
A5: Plan for activities for the first week so you can be intentional with your time! Flipgrid is a great way for them to share about themselves in a fun way! Plan how you will make those first happy calls home! It’s all about making the time for what matters. #CFiSDchat
A5 What I'm doing NOW before I even know Ss is reflecting on preparing an inviting classroom environment: comfortable seating, books and manipulatives with easy reach for kinders #cfisdchat
A5: Honestly I have no idea. It is hard to do in a MS setting because classes change up until the day school starts and even after, but being in this chat has help. #CFISDchat@CFISDchat#ravensrise
A5: I love how some of our Ts did @flipgrid for their classes to introduce each other before school! What a great way to learn faces, names, and personalities before the first day! Could also be a great station at Meet the Teacher for parents and students to do! #CFISDchat
A4: Zone your room with easy to ID areas: Inbox/Outbox, Materials, Class Norms, Stations, etc. And for goodness sake, put some color up on the walls! Then put student work up, too! Showcase more than "perfect" work. Shine a light on "average" work too! #cfisdchat@CFISDchat
A5 Preparing yourself for the year to come. Remembering that every student deserves the best version of yourself. Not every student comes from the best background and needs you to know that. #CFISDchat
A3: you build relationships with your teams by always listen to ideas, admitting when you're wrong, and get to know each other on a personal level. Learn about them outside of work to build those lasting relationships.
#CFISDchat@CFISDchat
A5: Communicate with Ss as you can, but self-care and making sure you’re in top-top shape to welcome them wholeheartedly when they arrive ❤️ #CFISDchat
A3 Smile, ask questions, find common interests. I’ve met so many people keeping the clock/book at sporting events! Gonna miss seeing all of my peeps in the hall #MovingOnUpToThePentHouse. I ❤️ football season rivalries! Right @Shannon_D_Spear?! #CFISDchat#WeAreSalyards 🐯
A5. Avoid the energy thieves who try to tell you all the negatives about your upcoming class. Each child has had a couple of months away to grow. #CFISDchat
A5: I've already set up a @Flipgrid get to know you grid and I plan to send that out once I get my roster. I did that last year and really enjoyed how my students were willing to be open with their teacher. 😁 #CFISDchat@CFISDchat
A6: I like the #flipgrid idea about having students make one to introduce themselves. Then in the flip side I also like the idea of teachers and staff making one to introduce them as well. #CFISDchat@CFISDchat#ravensrise
A5 Send your students a post card before school starts. Express how excited you are to meet them and give them a few fun facts about yourself! #CFISDchat
A5 @CFISDWells4th teachers are getting together Wednesday to start planning for Meet the Teacher and the first day of school. Making sure we are ready and intentional in what we do is an important first step in building relationships! #CFISDchat
I am excited to start the hoover watt watchers program! I already have ideas on how to better conserve energy around the campus and I have come up with some neat incentives that I can't post publicly yet!! You'll have to stay tuned for that.. #CFISDchat
A6: I’m really excited about incorporating more Hyperdocs and Digital Breakouts this year! I think Ss will be excited to navigate through them to learn all the things! #CFISDchat
A6: Continuing Genius Hour- we learned so much about our amazing students. I am also starting lunch book clubs, I can't wait to share my love for reading with students! #cfisdchat
A4: Decorating your classroom in a way that is calming...plants, lamps, flexible seating, collaborative groups, etc. Also, allowing students to give input on classroom rules/norms makes it feel like they have ownership on what happens in their class.
#CFISDchat@CFISDchat
#cfisdchat A5 - Planning for flexible seating, classroom decor, and lessons that are student-centered. Ex: planning a breakout to teach the syllabus and classroom procedures
Every student deserves an opportunity to...
🎯 experience new learning
🎯 learn from failure
🎯 learn by doing
🎯 share their work
🎯 pursue their passions during the school day
What are your core beliefs?
#corebeliefs#makeithappenEDU
A6: I am super excited to keep learning and growing with my Ts and help implement blended learning as we work to keep every student growing and loving learning. #CFISDchat
A6 #CFISDchat Our CCIS Team is starting ‘Friday Reflections’ where we meet on Friday’s to reflect on the week, strategize & collaborate. We want to have new plans/ideas in place by Monday to start the week fresh.
A6: I’m ecstatic about getting to know new students and continuing relationship- building with students I’ve already had ‼️ Can’t wait to START FRESH, and be an INFLUENCE‼️ #CFISDchat@cfisdfiest
A3 To build strong relationships with the teams I work with, I try to be a servant leader. If I’m going to ask them to do something, I try to lead the way by doing some of the grunt work first. #CFISDchat
