The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.
R1 When I was in the coach role and especially now in my role with @INeLearn, the first and most important thing was to realize it was not a one-man gig. Build community! #INeLearn
R1: there are SO many tools for our teachers and students to use and learn. That is impossible to learn all of them and can be overwhelming. The role of the eCoach is to help a T find tools that will benefit their content and help the T become proficient with this. #INeLearn
I have lists of resources that I’ve learned throughout my coaching journey. I reference them when helping a teacher. As far as sharing, I need to be better. #INeLearn
A1: Prioritizing tools/resources so that the most useful are easily available. Once that is managed adding more specialized tools. Also, parterning with teacher leaders helps lighten the load #INeLearn
R1 It's overwhelming how many great tools are available, so it's essential to find "experts" who can assist you curating. You can't be everything to everyone! #INeLearn

R1--I'm learning there is so much out there it is hard to sift through it all and know where to start. I've been very thankful for other coaches who've helped me this first year. #INeLearn
R1- Prioritizing tools teachers need to keep compliant with district expectations (grade books, discipline trackers, etc) is a pragmatic first step that we lovers of tech can want to skip and, as a result, leave TRs in a pickle #INeLearn
R1: Yes it's possible. Just learned about this yesterday at the Empowering Superintendent Seminar. Zionsville shared a screening/support tool they created to help guide and facilitate high quality resource curation by certified staff. #INeLearn
Actually we are utilizing our Ss to help curate and professionally develop Ts on tools for teaching. They know what engages them. #INeLearn#HSDigitalLeaders#TechTeam

A1 We vet tools for Ts and Ss by starting with the privacy policies and terms of use to make sure they are safe. Then we organize them by how to use them. #INeLearnhttps://t.co/jHzL1hiC2z
R2 - My favorite tool right now, includes resources. Padlet has become a lifesaver as I'm collaborating with my high school speech team on discussion topics. #INeLearn
R1: We apply the @kevinhoneycutt principal of "dating" tools but not "marrying them". We work hard to try to know enough about as many tools and apps as we can in order to make the right recommendation after LISTENING to the teachers' needs #inelearn#RCSeLearn
My favorite tools are flexible so Ts can use them in multiple ways. @explainevrythng is awesome for all levels to demonstrate understanding in so many different ways. #INeLearn
#INeLearn A2 Love using @TeachingLChttps://t.co/sJ6WZvPyux. Go to the teacher section. So many great resources and ideas that can be used in different subjects. If you get a chance to attend a LOC PD, take advantage of it!
R2 Canva and Adobe Spark as creation tools for secondary; agree on FlipGrid-not getting as much #HSDLead response it as I had hoped though-so powerful for all grade levels #INeLearn
R2- I can’t say enough good things about @ThinkCERCA for late elementary and beyond- critical thinking with next level writing, differentiated and contextualized- YES PLEASE ❤️ #INeLearn

I am not in the classroom anymore, but i find myself using Screencastify frequently to share information with staff. I think i need to try flipgrid though! #INeLearn

I think Ts see FlipGrid or Recap as more grading, so many of them are missing the point of how it reveals what Ss really understand. It's not just another assignment. #INeLearn
R2 - I'm also intentional on using tools that work across platforms. WE can't be device specific. Tools need to be available anywhere, anytime. #INeLearn
They're so flexible. We used them as the guide for a 7th grade competition we ran on Wednesday. All instructions in the slides, and links to where challenges needed to be accomplished. #INeLearn
@Screencastify is catching on with our staff as well for flipped lessons, lesson extensions and to allow students to repeat a lesson at night if they need to! Great and super simple tool. #INelearn
I could see that happening. I'm using it in a community where I ask everyone to share what they are currently working on. One or two groups are good about sharing...sad percentage #INeLearn
R3 Input from teachers, instructional aids and students is essential to find what works best for all learners. Unfortunately, just because a tool is shiny and new, doesn't mean it will be effective. #INeLearn
Q3: I definitely like to learn by seeing and doing. Show me how this makes your classroom better and how it will positively impact instruction. #INeLearn
R2: That's like asking me which one of my children is my favorite! Depends on the day!! Right now I am big on creating content so I'm "dating" @H5PTechnology for K-12 and @TinyTapit for the littles #inelearn#RCSeLearn

Q2R
I would like to be a kindergarten teacher and in my classroom placements I've liked to use Kahoot (my students love this) Draw and Tell which is an app that allows students to create their own picture and write a discription and post it to the entire class #INeLearn
I started my History class w/ writing brief reflections this yr. We've built this up & today they recorded their reflections with Clips or SnapChat on our field trip to the Chicago History Museum #INeLearn
R4: Ss need to learn that skill. Being creative is definitely a #NOWready skill. So many of our Ss want to create something that is just like everybody else’s. Allowing them different platforms for differentiation and curation allows creativity to flow #INeLearn
R3
I also learn best by seeing and doing because this allows me as an educator to be able to reflect on watching what was taught and being able to fix things that didnt go as planned. This in the end helps our students #INeLearn
R4: Having students participate in content curation is a great idea. Let them find the best way to get from point A to point B. Their creativity and innovation never ceases to amaze me. #INeLearn
R3: current example I love is I have a Ss high school tech expert thats self chosen role is to review K-2 app. Then share with me and finally demonstrate to K-2 teachers #HSDLead#INeLearn
R4--I tried to do this when I was in classroom and encourage our Ts to; but we're still working to create a culture with our Ts and Ss that it's good to empower the students. #INeLearn
R4 Students have access to more info and tools than ever, and we need to provide them with the training to curate, not just on isolated tasks like researching a topic, but on a larger scale like keeping track of sites that have their personal data. #inelearn
R4: AND they NEED to share with an authentic audience that is maybe not their direct peers. Share online in forums like @YouTube. Blog about it. Show pictures on @instagram and @Twitter. #INeLearn
Let’s say a teacher comes to you and asks if you know of any resources for teaching about clouds. How would you go about “curating” resources for them? #INeLearn
#INeLearn A2 Love using @TeachingLChttps://t.co/sJ6WZvPyux. Go to the teacher section. So many great resources and ideas that can be used in different subjects. If you get a chance to attend a LOC PD, take advantage of it!
R4: GREAT QUESTION! I think I may have heard a collective "gulp" across Indiana! I think we all agree that this is something our students can and should learn how to do, but.....maybe we aren't quite ready to give up the control? #INeLearn
Kahoot can be cool, but questionable effectiveness. More effective when you use it in a 'backwards' fashion to introduce a lesson w/ Blind Kahoot & collect formative data. #INeLearnhttps://t.co/I13C5VDWgb
A4 My district is a @GoogleForEdu Reference district and we have been very purposeful in teaching our Ss to read carefully before using the Log in with Google option. We have a form for Ts to fill out so we can vet new tools before using them with Ss #inelearn
R5: I would come back and ask the question “What is your learning outcome?” Is this purely a presentation, a list of facts, or something that is more in depth? #INeLearn
R5: Start by asking what the desired student outcome is. Then ask them what tools or resources they have used and what their student have used. Then, depending on the age of the Ss I would let them loose to curate or do some digging on my own to recommend to the T #INeLearn
We are currently having our Tech Team research apps and tools for Ts and Ss. We then make a slide with reasons to use it and include a link to the tutorial video. This has been effective, but we are open to other ideas as well. #inelearn

I spend a lot of time today looking looking through Amazon Inspire and looking for resources for our Visual Arts Department. Many great things! #INeLearn
R5. I would start with what the ultimate goal of the lesson is. How will students apply their knowledge? I would find a creative resource to accomplish that and then work backwards. #INeLearn
R6: We have PLC's approx. once a month to share tools w/ Ts. I also spend at least one day a month in the main office area so Ts can just drop in and ask Qs about anything. #INeLearn
R5: there are so many different sites to find info. Maybe reach out to an expert on clouds—local meteorologist like @Met_mdclark, @Met_khinz, etc. Do a @Skype or FaceTime convo. Then some kind of culminating activity using @Flipgrid, @WeVideo, Adobe Spark, etc. #INeLearn
R5: At what point do we point Ts to the experts by giving them support to connect via Twitter or Facebook? In this case I’d rather guide them to how to connect with a scientist or weatherman than curate resources. #INeLearn

R6. Email blasts, live trainings, newsletters and curated on a @CanvasLMS course that all Ts participate in and can come back to at any time. #INelearn
Yes! I have successfully embedded Thinglinks and Padlet walls in Canvas. Works very well. #INeLearn
Son had swim meet so jumping in late. Have been lurking. Chris from Bloomington. Teach world history for online private HS.
R6: Smore newsletters, library webpage, google classrooms for each grade, even emails if appropriate. And of course, planning meetings with Ts. #INeLearn
A6 We have a form that Ts can fill out to request that we check the privacy policies and terms of use of new tools and websites. We add them to this spreadsheet for Ts to check as we update it https://t.co/jHzL1hiC2z#inelearn
R6
For my Ed Media Tech course I'm building a website that is a great resource for teachers with apps and information about important technology resources. It's a working progress as I'm building it right now. Check it out in May!!
https://t.co/976U3Dk4xE#INeLearn
For our corporation I've created a resource site for both Ts and Ss to access. Includes basic @ClayCommSchools info and how tos plus we're constantly updating our links of tools and resources. Total work in progress, but is a labor of love. https://t.co/s9yMaYMVcs#INeLearn
Nice idea. I've embedded Flippity Random Name Picker into Schoology - used it to choose who goes 1st on a project so Ss nicknamed it the 'Wheel of Doom' #INeLearn
R6: I try to send 1-3 tools every couple of weeks. We finally taking the leap into 1:1 in K-5 next year. I don’t want to overwhelm the teachers, but I want them to start thinking ahead to what is possible. #INeLearn
R6: At @LCHSBears, we have a @CanvasLMS “course” that Ts have access to that is prepped with tools and suggestions with videos created with @voicethread. A monthly newsletter is sent out via email. ECoaches conduct in service training. #INeLearn

R6. Differentiation. One on one, email, twitter, large group, small group, even yelling if I would have to! ;) Not really yelling, but as many ways as possible to reach teachers! #INeLearn
R6 As a coach I also held informal lunch sessions-it had a cute name which I can't remember-I'd promo what I had to feature, but we also talked about whatever they brought to the table #INeLearn
That's great! Our teachers are now more aware of tools and how they collect private information too. They help make the students more aware too! #INeLearn
R6. Differentiation. One on one, email, twitter, large group, small group, even yelling if I would have to! ;) Not really yelling, but as many ways as possible to reach teachers! #INeLearn
I've been doing this for my Ss to curate suggested resources for them to do research. They don't have to use the Symbaloo sources but most seem to be doing so. #INeLearn
One of the ways I share resources is through tech mini sessions- 15 minutes to explore and learn. Not a huge time commitment. The convo always continues! #INeLearn.
R6: We have the RCS Hub which is a course in @CanvasLMS. It contains all sorts of resources for Ts including packaged presentations on a variety of apps from our in house conferences we offer. #INeLearn
I don't know if @risky4 and @DanaKunz can moderate together again. They are testing my RT skills. Keep 'em coming ladies. You can't take me down, bwhah #INeLearn
Very few! I keep telling myself "you can lead a horse to water..." I hope that as people get use to having me as a resource and word of mouth spreads that it will get better. #INeLearn
I've picked up amazing insights from @garyvee about social media marketing strategies and there are a lot of parallels to what we are trying to accomplish as coaches. We are trying to sell and product/service, right? We are trying to develop a network/community, right? #INeLearn

R6--Smore newsletters monthly (then curated on our Tech Site), email blasts, Symbaloo, Basically I"m trying to reach our Ts where they feel comfortable and sometimes drive myself crazy trying to manage it all. #INeLearn
We do the same as schools. We need to tell our stories and more importantly model good SM skills as well as creating a positive digital footprint. #INeLearn
R8: Truly embody growth mindset. Recognize when you aren't the expert and learn. Twitter, blogs, communities, and maybe even a vodcast or two ;) #INeLearn
R6. Differentiation. One on one, email, twitter, large group, small group, even yelling if I would have to! ;) Not really yelling, but as many ways as possible to reach teachers! #INeLearn
R8. This is my passion, so I have surrounded myself with people who always keep me informed. I am constantly researching and learning from people smarter than myself. It's the best part of my job, as I'm continually learning and continually bettering myself. #INeLearn#PLFamily
I love that you are sharing! I esp love when T’s share resources w me & tell me how they used them in their classroom (assessment piece, direct instruction, etc) #INeLearn
R6: we love modeling for one curious/willing teacher, then we show off what this teacher is able to do with tool in a full-staff quick meeting/showcase, then we direct all to our LMS where we have discussion boards and resources surrounding these digital tools. #INeLearn
R6b: 1 thing we know for sure is that we need to take the message to where the audience is.Sometimes you need to create a new path. We're starting a live (and recorded) online weekly PD event for our Ts where our own Ts will present tool and strategy demos #RCSLearnLive#INeLearn

R8: Truly embody growth mindset. Recognize when you aren't the expert and learn. Twitter, blogs, communities, and maybe even a vodcast or two ;) #INeLearn
R8: Work at being a connected educator. That’s why we are promoting, as part of #RCSeMadness, for our Ts to start a Twitter Account or follow a new, well-connected, educator. #Round1#INeLearn#RCSeLearn

R8 Twitter! TEAM meetings and INCUE. Try to attend a few key conferences a year. I am in awe of what other coaches I've met have in place in their corporation or schools. #INeLearn
Are all the coached in chat tonight connected to the regional network as well as the #INeLearn community for coaches? If not, let me know. PLUS, I'm looking for a host for our spring edcamp.
R5. I would start with what the ultimate goal of the lesson is. How will students apply their knowledge? I would find a creative resource to accomplish that and then work backwards. #INeLearn
WU: I find more success when I curate with specific people in mind. I try to personalize it as much as possible so communication from me feels like it is really meant for them, and not another email in the inbox. #INeLearn

Actually that's something I'm trying to put together for our summer as a voluntary thing. We're implementing @CanvasLMS and adopting Chromebooks so I'm trying to introduce more to @GoogleForEdu . We're putting teacher leader teams together. #INeLearn
