Our school is having Pajama Day on the 22nd. In the past we have had Colonial Day during this week. Also tried to build in some Holiday related curriculum materials...Plan a Holiday Meal & compare prices from 2 diff stores. #4thchat Lots of math activities.

It does take some stress off. Ss who like routine and like school might act up this time of year, especially with a break from their routine coming. Activities like this show them that they have friends and that we will all be here for each other. #4thchat

Oh yes, One of my grandpas was a prisoner of war during WWII. A local college recorded his story for history, and we also have copies of hi story that he wrote of his experiences. I have also work on family history with my grandma who remembers quite a bit #4thchat

This is awesome. Tried doing this with my dad who will be 92 in Feb. He turned 18 on Iwo Jima. Never talked much about it when we were younger. Been getting bits & pieces as time passes. So much to learn from him still. #4thchat

My aunt made it and wore it when she volunteered in a nursing home & then passed it on to me. She thought the kids would enjoy seeing it. And they have! #4thchat
