Hi #teachpos, Annie joining from Bethlehem, PA. It was year 1 for me so while there was a lot I loved I’d probably go with a 6 or 7 because I know there’s a lot of room to grow!
#teachpos Ray, 7th grade math teacher from rhode island here. Check out #edchatri right after this chat at 8pm EST! We will be discussing education policies that effect your classroom.
Good evening agents of change from #teachpos! Michael A. from #122edchat in Chicago. I am an award-winning #STEM Facilitator for @SmartLab_tweets from @Simmonsknights1. Definitely a 6. More wins than losses. Fought daily to keep my head above water. In the end, we took the W.
Hi, I’m Katy from NC. I’d rate my school year as a 9. It was pretty close to perfect, but a large class size (with transient students) made it hard to consistently individualize instruction. #Teachpos
#teachpos Hi! Just saw that this chat was starting and thought I would try it. Not sure what it's about. I would say this school year was probably an 8.
A1: I addened a training through @IMSEOG that was a game teacher as to how I approach teaching phonemic awareness and phonics. Was then able to get the K-3 Ts trained as well. #teachpos
A1: With the help of @SmartLab_tweets, I was able to flip my mindset and approach to instruction from being teacher-led to student-centered instruction. In the end, our Lab won national recognition from Creative Learning. #teachpos
#teachpos Forgot to say - I'm Gwena, high school Spanish teacher from Indiana. A1: I am most proud of how much student choice I provided this year. Especially how well most of the kids' PBL's turned out.
A1: I’m proud of how well I got to know my students... both by building relationships to get to know them as people and working with them individually to get to know and differentiate for them as learners! #teachpos
#teachpos A1 - I am most proud of taking on a new 1-to-1 initiative and completely changing my practice so that I teach all through video and self paced playlists. Check out my blogs and columns on how I did it: https://t.co/lgXVhesBTB
A1: I am most proud of my #failforward attitude. With many new initiatives, I think I did a good job showing Ss & other Ts what it looks like to be open-minded, reflective & not afraid to change things up. #STEMinnovator#TeacherOfTheYear#teachpos
A1: #teachpos So many reasons to celebrate🎈this year-the one that stands out is doing my part to help cultivate the benefits of #mindful practices in our Tt & Ss . Hi everyone, this is Akilah, from VA dropping in for a bit!
18 years in...we needed to try something different. The kids are capable of so much, and I finally gave them space to show that they could be successful. #teachpos
A1: I am most proud that my several reluctant readers transformed into fluent, confident readers over the course of one year. They’ve already emailed me this summer to share what they’re reading for fun! #teachpos
Eddie Gonzalez, middle school teacher and adjunct university lecturer. Every year I start with the mindset this this will be the greatest year of my life. No lie, I believe every year is a 10. #Teachpos

A2: I did achieve my goal - had been looking forward to the training for 6 months. I learned a new way to teach, was able to impliment my learning, so biggest growth from Ss ever! #teachpos
A2: I hadn’t really set goals. 😬 I just jumped in and ran with it. Once I joined Twitter chats in February, it all changed... now I see the importance of goals and have too many to list. 😬 #Teachpos
A2: Had to make our Lab a success in Year One. It was painful. It took work. We had to be patient and do things differently, but in the end, we were more successful than anyone could have ever dreamed. #teachpos
A2: Goal was just to make it through the year honestly, to laugh with my students every day, and not to lose sight of the fact that they’re what we’re here for (not meetings, paperwork, etc)! #teachpos
#teachpos A2 - My only goal for last year was to start using #googleclassroom more with our 1-to-1 initiative. I had no clue that I would completely change my practice this last year!
A1) I'm proud that I sought out feedback, and when I didn't seek the feedback I didn't take anything personal, and really tried to improve as an educator. There is always room for growth #teachpos
Just saw @KristenSevinsky A1 for #teachpos, did not know about this PL excited to join, A1 most proud of earning USD375 TOY! My colleagues’ nomination letters were enlightening and moving.
A2: My goal was more student choice! Options for learning, practice, and assessment. I'd say I met that goal and learned a lot along the way. #teachpos
A2. Goal 1 - read to every classroom (21) each month - missed some in May. Goal 2 - support each grade’s WIN by teaching 1-1 or small groups. ✅ #Teachpos
A2 #teachpos - Ha! It may seem like a silly goal, but I was really hoping to keep my room so well-organized that I wouldn't have to spend additional time after the teachers' last day getting it ready for summer. Sadly, I failed miserably & needed to come in an entire extra day.
A2 goal to be more organized and making more authentic learning experiences, part 1 of goal not so much a success but part 2 very successful! #Teachpos
A2) My goal was to bring my middle school class to actually teach my sessions at conferences and also take the kids to teach my university classes. Both were a success #teachpos
#teachpos A3 - With all that I learned about turning my classroom around and putting the learning back into my Ss hands, I want to really focus on student goal setting and mastery tracking. I want my students to really own their own learning!
A3: I will continue to use my learning to support the learners sitting infront of me yet I know more about how to make changes to support the Ss as needed. I am learning more all the time and will be better learning for my Ss. #teachpos
#teachpos A3: Setting even clearer expectations. My classroom philosophy is based on a combination of #ditchbook, #LearnLAP and #tlap. Building relationships and creating experiences are paramount.
A3: I started making some positive contact to parents towards the end of the year and it was just so beneficial for building relationships with everyone involved! #teachpos
A3: Last year, I learned timely & effective feedback is important, especially when doing standards-based grading. I want to shift the focus from grades to feedback next year. Instead of "How can I earn an A" to "What do I need to do to master this"#teachpos
#teachpos - Don't forget to hop over to #edChatRI at 8pm EST! We will be discussing education policies that directly effect your classroom. Check out the questions here - https://t.co/QthZaoALie
A3 I learned to zoom out and look at the big picture. I also learned how powerful relationships are and that needs to be even more of a priority this coming year #teachpos
#teachpos PS. Currently I am reading what great teachers do differently. One of the first thing he mentions is setting clear expectations at the very start of the year. I set rules but I think expectations are more important. @ToddWhitaker
A3: Choose carefully who's voice to listen to. Too often I didn't filter the bad, destructive criticism. I took too much to heart. Thankful for the kids and my PLN on Twitter that helped me find balance. #teachpos
A3 I learned to be more open to student ideas and voice in their learning, will do much more with them, parents, and the communities I serve next year #Teachpos
I used to do this, but have been quite lax the past few years. Any ideas, tips, tricks to jump start this as my goal for next year? #teachpos. #teachergoal
Q3: I am responsible for my professional growth as a teacher and if there are no school $$ for conferences then I can find work around ways to educate and grow in my field like virtual confernces or ED twitter chats... #teachpos
A3 #Teachpos - every year I learn something that helps improve our mousetrap car challenge; this year, I also learned a lot about working with argument-driven inquiry that I'll be able to improve on next year.
