    In reply to @lars3eb
  • mrnesi Mar 28 @ 11:06 PM EDT

A1: I believe it is important to attend physical conferences. This is where you get to truly interact with others and truly get to know someone. #utedchat
  • madeleinefork Mar 28 @ 11:06 PM EDT
A1: Yes, of course! There is something so important about physical human interactions and learning from another individual face to face. #utedchat
  • BLGibson5 Mar 28 @ 11:06 PM EDT
A1: Yes, conferences allow hands-on learning and face-to-face interactions and networking are invaluable. #utedchat
  • missplott Mar 28 @ 11:06 PM EDT
A1: absolutely!! There’s so much more excitement when you’re there in person! Plus you get to connect with all the people you’ve “known” but never really met. And you get to be jealous of @YoungUTed fabulous wardrobe! #UTedChat
  • ebcurlyq Mar 28 @ 11:06 PM EDT
A1: As amazing as it is to engage in discussions like this on Twitter I still think it's important to attend conferences because you can have a little deeper discussion and make connections not only online, but in person. #utedchat
  • Dale_Chu Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT
HAPPENING NOW: @lars3eb leading a discussion on #UCET18 and the value of a PLN. Follow along at #UTedChat! @UTedChat @ucet

#utedchat A1 Attending conferences in person is far better, I check out way too often in any online only format #justbeinghonest
  • TeacherWinters Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT
A1 - Without a doubt. You are able to make more connections, put faces to names, learn things hands on, figure out solutions, and generally get into the thick of it. I love going to conferences because it opens doors to new ideas and future projects. #edtrex #utedchat
  • RobynEDPS3140 Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT
Thank you! We will be amazing thanks to our amazing teachers! @DaniKSloan #utedchat

  • carcar1412 Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT
let me try this again... i am new to Twitterchat. I am finishing up my learning and technology program here in SoCal #utedchat
  • Darling_Math Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT
A1: It's so important to make human connections. As much as I love #utedchat and the like, it was great meeting people and learning from others.
  • sarahkian46 Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT
#utedchat A1: Yes, it is important because humans are social creatures and we can learn a lot from interacting with each other, face to face. The potential connections that can be made are also very important.
  • qhenderson Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT
A1: Absolutely! Getting out of your element primes you for moments of insight. It also helps us get away from distractions and dive into learning. #utedchat
  • hjones3000 Mar 28 @ 11:07 PM EDT

It’s important to attend conferences in my opinion. This is the best way to get to know people and make contacts. #UTedChat
  • MsCookie132 Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
A1 Yes it is important to meet at conferences, because you don't drop stuff on your face there most of the time. Really though, for me nothing beats talking in person to really connect once in a while. There is value in both. #utedchat
  • MadasynMcGloth1 Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
A1: Attending conferences in person is still important! The assets technology provides is amazing, but human interaction and building relationships in person are important. #UTedChat
  • marcihouseman Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
I’m so glad that I know them too! ☺️ #utedchat
    In reply to @hjones3000
  • covili - Moderator Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
A1 Conferences are a great way to connect in-person with your PLN and learn new things. It was great to see all my #utedchat peeps last week.
  • lambski7 Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
A1 I think that it's still important to physically meet and build relationships with others. Technology is convenient, but I would much rather have one-on-one interaction with people as it demands more attention and communication. #utedchat
  • anderbrooke Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
A1: Yes, because conferences aren't just about content, they're about connection and getting out of your zone. You need to step away from your every day and see new people, hear new things and be in new places. #UTedchat
    • lars3eb - Moderator Mar 28 @ 11:05 PM EDT

  • Mr_Dutson Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
#UTedChat A1 I think it's still vital to attend conferences over digital means. Physically you can engage more and network a little easier.
    In reply to @lars3eb

A1: also some of the best networking and connections that happen are impromptu, like our #tweetupmeetup on Friday. You miss those things when you’re not there! #UTedChat
  • DaniKSloan Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
A1: While I love texting and staying in contact via social media (just please don’t call me on the phone) - conferences, in person presentations, discussions, and networking are irreplaceable! #utedchat
  • MelanieMontelo4 Mar 28 @ 11:08 PM EDT
A1. It is important to attend confrences because we are able to make great connections and learn from eachother. #utedchat

  • KBeddes Mar 28 @ 11:09 PM EDT
A1: yes. It’s important to physically step outside your comfort zone and reevaluate. Good conferences give you the time and space to do so. #utedchat
    • lars3eb - Moderator Mar 28 @ 11:05 PM EDT

A1: There’s nothing better than a personal connection. Social can help when we are apart, but nothing’s better than when you put teachers together in person. #utedchat
    In reply to @lars3eb
  • JaileenFer Mar 28 @ 11:09 PM EDT
A1: I think it’s important to still attend physical conferences because then you can truly see how teachers, students, and parents act. I think everyone acts differently on the internet than in real life #utedchat
  • MrJFawson Mar 28 @ 11:09 PM EDT
A1 one of best things about conferences is connecting with others. #utedchat

  • tabitha_pacheco Mar 28 @ 11:11 PM EDT
#utedchat A1- heck ya! I loved the first keynote— but because it was via Skype I noticed a lot of side chatter that wouldn’t happen during a live session. Also- there is something so energizing about so many passionate people in one place! That can’t be replicated online.
  • bizrockstar Mar 28 @ 11:11 PM EDT
I am Karsten from MVHS in alpine I attended one day of #UCET18 #utedchat thanks for all of the hard work
  • hjones3000 Mar 28 @ 11:12 PM EDT
A1: Meeting at conferences is SO important. It's like the final piece of a puzzle. All those other pieces that fit together so nicely are great, but you never have that full picture and satisfaction without that final, most important piece. #UTedChat
  • lars3eb - Moderator Mar 28 @ 11:12 PM EDT
Wow, sometimes Technology is amazing! I am just now getting logged onto my computer and ya'll have been going with #UTedChat for 11 mins already! That's what happens when we work w/ rural Utah. Thanks @berylgirl for being my partner today at Big Water! #sedck12 #kanek12

  • uofugirl1 Mar 28 @ 11:15 PM EDT
A1: I definitely think that being there in person gives more opportunities and perspectives to the meeting than just over the internet. The personal connection is so important and that is something we lose when we are just conversing online. #UTedChat
  • bizrockstar Mar 28 @ 11:15 PM EDT
A1 I think more educators should attend industry conferences or content or subject conferences #utedchat an example if I teach marketing should go to #adobesummit

  • jessblackham Mar 28 @ 11:16 PM EDT
