Please introduce yourself. Name, position and how many weeks left
All my teacher people! Join the tonight until 9pm EST. https://t.co/duuxz1N5Xc
Here we go. Q1 What was the one project and/or product that you were excited to use this year?
A1: Sounds silly, but coming to Twitter and using it for my own learning this yr has been INCREDIBLE.
Hello . Justin here, let's talk edtech.
A1: Really wanted to get to develop this year - almost got it started :( too busy
A1. Twitter with students! We had a great project with a teacher overseas! Students wrote nonstop!
A1 just excited to have Ss use GAFE and gain independence in their work, no more scribing for them
A1 we looked for to using paper technology. Adding electricity to it
A1: excited to be a part of a laptop pilot program for Ts in the future.
The wevideo app. My students love it for assessments over anything else. A1
Thank you first time checking out
A1: With Ts, I've shared and over and over again. Baby steps! Also I love showing them
A1) Always excited to be able to do more with GAFE. Began doing more with
A1 Thrilled with our first ever multi-genre writing project & happy to keep refining our genius hours.
We're participating in for the first time. Looking forward to a great conversation!
A1: 20% Time projects for 7th grade - some great passion-based learning!
For me, probably , which I have used to create some really cool visualizations and simulations.
Good Evening Everyone! Shawn from Round Lake, IL...2 days left!
yes we live on a short learning cycle
A1 LOVED using BeeBots with students across my building. Looking to buy some Dash & Dot thanks to
I've become a huge of padlet, everyone equal in voice.
A1 For me, it was my new book, Missional Moonshots...based on my study of 100 innovative schools.
Not silly at all! Sometimes we forget that Twitter is an ed tech tool itself.
A1: Really liked using learning journal
Am I seeing this right? is moderating???
I'd really like to get goin with drones as well. Any solid resources you could share to get started?
Ditto... It's quite awesome! Need to refine how we use it though
https://t.co/k7o5M7pjL1
A1: Really liked using learning journal
Nice and students love the live nature of it and the brevity needed in the posts. #
A1 just got ahold of for iPad. I wish I would've found it sooner. My Ss are hooked!
Oooh, sounds fun! Tell me more! Did you blog about any of it?
happens for so many Angela. Such an amazing took for connecting, ideas, & inspiration
A1 Also excited w/ the steps we took as a faculty to identify the digital capacities we'd like Ss to have in place before grad.
A1 I was excited to see our Ts use Chromebooks at the HS & ES with their Ss...that and Google Classroom.
I developed my own project, based on a create your own civilization type format. Heavy focus on geography
that is a wonderful answer
Kayla from Koxville TN, joining a little late--tech coach
A1 piloting iPad project with advanced ESL reading/writing class - research, collaborative reading, & annotated reading super
Where do I order my tacos? ;o)
I'd love to hear more about your writing project. What was it about?
Yep, and we're all standing by with bated breath to see what will happen. ; )
LOVE Google Classroom and so my students. No-one asking where we're up to with the learning. A1
A1) I was really excited to use Edpuzzle in classrooms this year.
A1: I was excited to start using add-ons and extensions for Google Apps this year...it's really made a big difference!
I retract my last tweet. was definitely the best tool I discovered this year. https://t.co/AruYTxuxjo
A1: Really liked using learning journal
I found a few magazines to start - got bogged down in legal with the FAA decision - trying to develop curriculum
Unfortunately schools I've been in block Twitter
I should do an update, but it is a geography based PBL mixing in govern, econ, culture
Some of my teachers use it for students setting weekly goals and tracking progress
How frustrating! Offers huge opportunity. t
How frustrating! Offers huge opportunity. t
that sound awesome must check it out
sounds awesome Bernard. Twitter has really helped expand many libraries. Add another to the list.
Which are your and your students' favorites?
A1: Secretly observing how Ss put snapchat to use for good over evil.
kids love backchanneling!
this is a great app to use with students.
A1: Here’s the end product. 1 week left. Turned history in SPED classes into a mural for all to learn https://t.co/EUW1PcvO0y
That's a shame so effective for building concise real responses. #
That's a shame so effective for building concise real responses. #
A1. Also loved integrating 3d printing into curriculum - when the printers worked
wow is this slap Nathan with a stick day
I came across a blog that referenced it - I'm looking forward to checking that out!
Tina from TN, , joining in for a bit
Was this your first year w 20% time? How did you design it? How did it go?
Awesoem idea and great realisation! A1
Same w/ schools where I teach grad courses to teachers so hard to model Twitter
A1) was the product that made me most giddy this year. Love the games, and the room for crating more.
Awww... Give the man some love!
A1 Still need to try this year. There is still time.
I'm a central office admin, so I do most my work with staff - I enjoy making Hyperdoc agendas linked to all resources
very cool - Curious though…did you choose not to use ZBL for some reason? Or just didn’t know abt it at the time?
Liked the first question. It feels like a year in review reflective chat! https://t.co/KFCdudVCn7
wow is this slap Nathan with a stick day
Yes, Ts and Ss need to do it to learn it IMO.
I know - i think it would be great to augment science lessons around flying quads -
A PBL on informational literacy and created park signs. They designed and published them after research on local history
A1: fav project was working with fabo kinder Ts on GClassroom with Ss & & with k-12
Lots of investigation and fun too!
Mike from MD. ES Librarian lurking around tonight
Love that you're starting with the end in mind, Tim. Is this publicly available?
Keen to learn more about your droid curriculum, every subject would be possible within reason.
A1 and have been awesome this year
completely agree. I was refreshed today to meet my student teacher that's joining me in the fall.
my first question in any chat is reflective. This is an education chat after all
How did they like the VR?
https://t.co/Q5s3W7BafQ
A1: fav project was working with fabo kinder Ts on GClassroom with Ss & & with k-12
A1 really enjoyed experimenting with genius hour and some ELA teachers this year. Got te out of their box
welcome to the club ... i think it is an addiction ... not sure if it requires a 12 step program
i wanted to develop flight school and tie to digital citizen ship as well!
Many admin still don't get the use of of even GDocs, nevermind anything beyond that
A great point that shows digital is not always better.
1st full year. Went really well - kids did three different projects and focused on growth. One period a week
Coolest things happening in your library spaces...and GO!
I use it to remotely check my Ss work in stations - helps keep them accountable at each station.
Great idea! Especially since drones are going to be more in our lives!
Don't they have such amazing energy and belief?
Agree, but frustrating to see Twitter blocked in so many schools
Came across it mid research for my work, so I just stayed the course..It's really a capstone to the rest of the course
i like the direct science link, but also think there are parallels to in becoming pilot
A1: I did a lot of works with digital badges this year and really liked it.
it's not silly...it's smart!
I have to model Twitter, and over and over for the Ts I teach! :)
Not sure why, mots Ss don't use twitter for SM. #
Was there a platform you leveraged?
There is a lot to consider w legal, ethical, etc. issues!
which ones do you have? looking to switch myself
. We are a Pre-K-12 school so we felt having everyone in on the disc would be imp. Hoping to share this summer
Both are easy enough to model. Prefer latter
Very cool, we're looking at something similar with Sphero with our juniors. #
I just finished a Klondike bar ... What would you do for a Klondike bar?
Sounds really cool. Did you share the results or reflections anywhere publicly?
Q2 Did the project or project go as planned?
Genius hour - when done right - can yield such amazing results!
Alli, administrator, and from Orlando, FL
A1 Hosted first local edcamp
we use every week for our digital PLG reflections.
Twitter has such great application, esp for HS students. Hate to see it blocked.
Made to help us get ready to make mural design.
MysterySkype, Green Screen, Robots,
they do! Makes me want to finish these last few days strong, and work on my curriculum over the summer.
The standard fear of allowing any SM in the school setting unfortunately
A2) The latest incarnation is being held back a bit by not enough devices or lab time available. Have to adjust for that.
That's clever nice integration!
I used Canvas and Canvabadges for my first set.
Not necessarily a product, but we worked to unblock social media for Ts and Ss this year and that was super exciting!
lulzbot my friend lulzbot
it was the first time a couple of them had really loosened the reigns, and they loved it
loved it!!! K-5 & 2 hs classes ran with it! Ss said it enhanced learning & made them want to explore
A2: Project had kinks but that only helped me hone the craft a bit more
The name "social" probably does not help, we talk about "digital" media.
I think that I'll have to go to the store. I should have had one at https://t.co/6gaPJ8a8xc
I just finished a Klondike bar ... What would you do for a Klondike bar?
A2. It was going great until I left the class to become an ITRT. T that took over wasn't invested and project stalled. :(
Of course not, it would be silly to expect it to be. :)
A2 every project has been a learning experience and something to tweak & get better at
Better than the 5 Paragraph essay and workbooks
A2: so far, yes. They are getting the feedback they are looking for and Ts get to try out some neat devices.
What sort of devices did you use? https://t.co/Xo5vI37PUF
loved it!!! K-5 & 2 hs classes ran with it! Ss said it enhanced learning & made them want to explore
Make sure you get R n R though!
Crazy that SM is still being blocked. We need a focus on digital citizenship, not banning.
A2 Zombie PBL went pretty much as planned. More scaffolding needed, and went well also. Minor tweaks here and there
A1 Also had a blast (still having) designing the new online Gamification & Game-based Learning course for our EDT grad program.
my project ... happening now ... integrating into unit ... it has all the cool elements and has kids talking.
A2) Project went as planned integrated math curriculum and coding very well
A2 Chromebooks at the HS were a hit esp. since they were homed in writing workshop classes. Elementary schools? Very mixed
This is great. Congrats https://t.co/cuXvMhHS0T
Not necessarily a product, but we worked to unblock social media for Ts and Ss this year and that was super exciting!
Rt of Q2 Did the project or project go as planned?
What are a few of the items that you have in Steam punk? Flying sharks? https://t.co/ksZEaIscI8
my project ... happening now ... integrating into unit ... it has all the cool elements and has kids talking.
A2 chats like have been pure awesomeness! I have learned a lot (besides just tweeting) & grown my PLN
Nice! What sort of coding? https://t.co/sIxmdEBAHA
A2) Project went as planned integrated math curriculum and coding very well
A2, it was more of a fail forward hear in this project- so that's success, next year will be even better
Hi Fotini from NJ.. Joining in late .. A1:
A2 W/ the writing pro we were surprised that Ss eagerly accepted the challenge to craft a fluent piece comprised of diff genres.
Ping me when you're ready to share - would love a good example of these.
reflections on kid blog - have a few students creating video mashups of the projects
A2) 1st didn't go that great but...prototype and fail often. Then learn and grow.
A2: After being in for 20+ years - I am not sure I have ever seen a project go exactly as planned :)
A1 Close in terms of sequence - but as usually happens in leading edge development, everything takes longer that expected.
predominantly iPads & iPods/phones with GCardboard
Math Rocks, Spyder Hiest, TimeWarp with big kids... adults.
Just don’t turn the collision avoidance off. Have drone = you WILL crash it. Get DJI Care!
Was it the breakout that you chose or how it was run? https://t.co/hXqvR36ftO
A2) 1st didn't go that great but...prototype and fail often. Then learn and grow.
A2 Been integrating all year ... adds a unique element, but not as good as is could be ... need better follow-up
A2 Close in terms of sequence - but as usually happens in leading edge development, everything takes longer that expected.
A2: Always tough when project fails, but gets Ss talking about what "should" have happened or how to problem solve.
is the way to go to get kid to not tell but show
We don't have our own. A parent owns them and volunteered to partner with us. He does a lot of drone education.
A2: in the beginning yes .. Then not enough space on iPads
oh plenty of soccer and golf to be had, oh and of course no alarm!
I will gladly share & look forward to feedback. We want to reflect our culture but also crave outside input.
so sorry I missed this - had some family stuff to attend to - maybe next year!
Good point.Ss don't use Twitter for social needs - so we should use it for class!
we are going to implemnt blogging for reflection in genius hour next year. What platform dud you use?
A2: went well, easy to use. Had to do lots of talking with the kids about making useful, positive comments on work tho
true ... seems every projects has its own set of successes and failures.
How it was run...didn't think the kids would be so mean, and selfish. :-/
Can never say will or won't do/go as planned...can only ever say it *should* https://t.co/1tEgcbkUVZ
A2: After being in for 20+ years - I am not sure I have ever seen a project go exactly as planned :)
I broke out of somewhere and they will never catch me HAhahahahaha
No worries! We are already discussing plans for the next one, possibly in the fall!
A2 No but the turns led to a more interesting product
do you know what the printers were?
pretty good, helped with personal effects over weekend & funeral tmrw, thx for asking
Hi to all from Florida! 4th grade here!
A2. The drone project went as planned. The 3d printer ones, not so much. LOTS of problems with both printers.
I agree, prohibition never works, only leads to more misuse.
My other big project was helping in developing and playing with Thimble
A2 I'm looking for a program to remotely monitor Ss chromebooks in a 1:1 setting. Any ideas?
A2: I LOVE asking the Ss what went well and what we need to work on. Discus the 7 Habits and which ones were applicable
Yeah, has really taken off with Ss sharing all sorts of things, polls, videos, etc. Like mini twitter for gr. 3-5.
I hope you write about it somewhere to share the project - would love to learn more!
I'm using them for T PD. I've also gotten some Ts to use them in class. I've started a site I can share
A2 Layout, usability, and clarity sometimes take surprisingly long even when the new technology all works.
Sorry - thought you were talking about the drones. Printers are Makerbot and Polar 3d.
I didn't sent them up the right way. 2nd class was much better.
It went pretty well. Slightly smaller turnout than anticipated, but the atmosphere was great!
What was the main purpose for using Minecraft? I might try it next year.
Secret for Ts: Minecraft isn't a game. It's an Edu tool. So much to learn through creation. Shhh Don't tell Ss.
So hard when Ss and Ts visions don't align
I have a Dremel 3D (first Generation). Has worked great! You just can use SDCards! no computer!
did the have problems - am thinking of moving some printing to them
I interviewed several teachers for a story on and they all LOVED it couldn’t say enough good things
No doubt, that's why the citizenship is key...for Ts and Ss.
A2 Genius Hr continues to impress but want to improve the way I support Ss with reflections.
FQ3) What food item best goes with ?
A2: Ts are excited but also really, really nervous about what Ss will do on social media, thus some Ts are still reluctant
I am still waiting for to contact me about the next gen printer I saw
i used kidblog. It worked out ok, but a lot of the features cost $
Late to , but like staff reflection. Am renewing National Boards this yr, & moving to new school. Reflect https://t.co/ODSJbiYMPY
A1 Also excited w/ the steps we took as a faculty to identify the digital capacities we'd like Ss to have in place before grad.
I didn't instruct the kids to share the responsibility. They have in other activities, but didn't translate
Yes, & teaching a DigCit to teachers now
A2: PBL in 5 of our schools...Ts taught Ss to use GAFE Keep, Classroom, Calendar and Slides. It rocked! https://t.co/KK6eBi0kz2
Rt of Q2 Did the project or project go as planned?
Same here-next year we are focusing on the process by blogging weekly
FA3 , just polished off a fudge brownie sundae with chocolate chips. Makes the fingers sticky enough to type.
how did it go? looking for a badging platform
I believe they are shipping. The IOS app needs major work for environment.
True - there is a responsibility to protect, can be daunting
Q3 Are you planning to continue on doing the project or using the project next year?
They need the support as much as the students, some more.
Be great to hear how you get on. Please share!
Not bad. Still need dinner before dessert https://t.co/iFAIuyUQH5
FA3 , just polished off a fudge brownie sundae with chocolate chips. Makes the fingers sticky enough to type.
How will students use Twitter?
Fq3 chocolate chocolate chip cake with homemade frosting.
I have a Dremel. We talk off the chat sometime
A3: Plan on hitting more classrooms with the different projects. Will feel tons more comfortable next year
yea, I would say look elsewhere - maybe google sites?
This article might help some concerns with students on social. Esp before applying to college: https://t.co/nyv5LDgjJN
What platform do you think you will be using? We house in Drive. Ss write on docs, photo, or use .
A3: absolutely--and hoping to not only refine, but get more teachers on board!
a3. Will probably cont. with drones. Will keep trying with 3d printers. Love the outcome when they work. Ss LOVE designing.
I use in 6th gr World History - build civilizations and add to throughout the year.
ex:Egypt 4 shapes K,Grand Canyon 4 adj 1st,US landmarks K-2,ELA/goldrush/grasslands 3-5,hs anatomy/geog
or just hold a on what to replace your makerbot with?
A3) Looking to gamify our class next year. Will start with a unit to see how it will work and expand.
oooooooo this looks sweet. Does it work in the elem. level?
A3 Definitely continue to learn & find co-learners on
A3: Yes! Commercial registration online! To use it for $$$ use, you need to file for Section 333 https://t.co/0fBLyrpwiT
Q3 Are you planning to continue on doing the project or using the project next year?
at this point we are leaning towards weebly
A3. I am going to try and prepare Ts and help them organize similar projects that align w/ their classes
A3: So many NEW things to shoot for next yr. Would love to see Ss build a positive digital footprint via blogs and social
A3) I am planning on expanding my sessions, and going to & digital side.
Thanks, looking forward to checking it out!
I have 9 Printers of multiple Manf
- Moving from Elementary to 1/2 time Elem 1/2 time Middle School. Have 2 sets of Battle of the Books 2 read- BOB+EBOB
That is a brilliant idea!
Is it a google chrome extension? I may have came across that on my search tonight
It went really well. I think the Ts appreciate choice in what they learn.
A2 Yes and the students performed beyond my expectations.
A2 Yes and the students performed beyond my expectations.
A3 Multigenre proj was a success & will do again. Opened doors for S choice, voice. Allowed us to differentiation & personalize.
I will take a look thanks!
A3) Yes, plan on doing much more with the idea. Have some ideas about how to incorporate math and put more in digital space
A3b Also plan to continue to plat with the 3D printer & drone w
A3: absolutely and eager to learn and share new ideas !!!
Now that is thinking outside the box.....or is it? :) https://t.co/g1OOtqZrTZ
my project ... happening now ... integrating into unit ... it has all the cool elements and has kids talking.
A3: Might expand out a bit, definitely want to continue the student driven digital portfolios- get Ss more reflective
I would like to be able to see all 20 screens at once on my computer.
A3: I've done my best to set my Ts up for continued success; as I'll be in a new district/school. I hope they're ready 4 edtech
the question will be "will makerbot be a company in 3 years"
A3: yes to all! Work w/Ts on GClassroom k-12, k-12
A3. Our system bought our first 3D printer. Excited to see how that works out! ad Design class gets first swing!
I want to bring 3D printing to my El School. Need a plan. Drones, alas. I"m w/n 15 miles of the White House.
Over or under does Googles new Spaces last as long as Buzz or as long as Wave?
I'd settle for knowing about the next 3 months
I'm asking the world currently on . We'll see what I find!
Yes The students love the authenticity of and the ability to share and collaborate.
Like weekly. Too bad it's blocked in my district.
Yes it is great for all great levels and allows you to see progress of students
is awesome! https://t.co/GifzSgqibd
I want to bring 3D printing to my El School. Need a plan. Drones, alas. I"m w/n 15 miles of the White House.
A3: yes, our pilot program is going on into next year, and maybe even having more Ts or a small rollout of devices.
That's a cool idea, hadn't thought of badges for Ts.
Cool - github, a great example of real world collaboration, which also fits in well as an educational experience.
3D printing is awesome when they make school logos. Tech meets Pos Sch Climate.
Cool project -> grow stuff ... listening to the kids point and "Oh My god ... look! Its a melon!" https://t.co/0NEZri52g4
unfortunately no,we didn't document...maybe I'll do a blog post,what info would help
yeah, central office needs to get on board in many districts. We recgnize how lucky we are
Q3: I am hoping to find a nice project management software for my team to help manage all our ideas for next year - ideas?
There is an IOS app called AirMap. It will help when you aren’t that close to restricted air space.
We are in the midst of this first time experience. Hoping to have materials & reflections blogged shortly.
Also why do we keep redesignng our classes in silos. Lets share and remix our blended experiences.
I spy the word "free", too. I like.
I can send you what we do for quad copter building
I wonder if Google Spaces will be good for you. https://t.co/on2A9jNt8k
Q3: I am hoping to find a nice project management software for my team to help manage all our ideas for next year - ideas?
I'm looking into printer options for our makerspace next year -avoid makerbot?
Keeps every fair and equal and involved. #
A3) Probably working with Dash and Dot instead of Lego EV3
I modeled with Ts first for T tasks, then the Ts collaborated to create their own lessons. Huge Success!
How did Ss react to Keep? Do they use it as an ext?
at this point, I would - and it pains me to say that becasue I loved the product
As long as you define the pathways, criteria and evidence, badges can be awesome for personalized
they cut a 1/3 of their workforce. Not a good sign
I've got bail early. Sorry.
I'm hoping to bring and to my library next year. I'd love more and too
Haha can only build so many contingencies https://t.co/PBvbdYZIvw
A2: After being in for 20+ years - I am not sure I have ever seen a project go exactly as planned :)
Have a great evening David.
the rep 2 is my horse. I kills me what they did to the extruder
Hmm even w/n the 15 mi radius? This would work
too simple, I actually want to break down tasks and assign out parts so that we can track if we are making progress
Yep! Free is always good. It is lso specific to units you are teaching.
Great Barrier Reef aquatic life & ocean app sea turtles/dolphins & made lesson to accompany in
jeeze! So thoughts on filling the void?
Great response. What was the teachers' initial reactions?
we used the extension & had Ss use it to record their research & add notes - then we progressed to project task lists
you can fly in your classroom or hallway
A3: Definitely, esp Digital Portfolios
I already said I would try :) can't hurt to get other opinions :)
I mean in turns of integrating badges into personalized learning. The pathways work is hardest.
A3: Definitely! It's just the beginning! Hoping to teach Ts and Ss how to use social media in positive, educational ways
Sure, that would be helpful to see
Nice point, just like our Ss, Ts need individualisation.
all very simple, I want assignment and task tracking - some add ons might work
Hey everybody! Sorry I'm late, looking forward to catching up on the archive later. Here to lurk for now
or better yet get merged into plus and die a slow death
A3: Did some Tech Challenges for Ts and they earned badges. Business Partners donated prizes. Hoping to continue
Steampunk is a crazy-cool genre - we are reading Leviathan by and most of the kids are buying in
Great choices and like the graphic
Welcome Danyelle... lurkers are always welcome.
We used it with 4&5 graders and they had no problem - WAY better results than the old stack of index cards method! lol
So are your students on Chromebooks or using Google ext?
That's what I hope to accomplish with my PD. Ts need to be engaged too.
how about Google classroom? You can create a classroom and invite teachers ...
how does it compare for the $
Learnt a lot from them too.
I think that is the place to start, and then roll out to students
It made a great use for my old phone after upgrading to a new one
Q4 For someone with a little money to spend at the end of the year, would you recommend it?
iPod Touch or old iPhone 5.
Prof Susan in IL finally able to join now that semester w late classes is over. Will read thru to catch him up. Best to all.
but the project tracking features aren't the same - it is more than a homework assignment - more like co-teachers
Often use Google Draw to create customized graphics for app smashing
YES... Read that last sentence.. https://t.co/5tWace9OJg
That's what I hope to accomplish with my PD. Ts need to be engaged too.
Plus, you can enroll the phone in an MDM system and push apps!
A4: Yes! Badges are absolutely free and they can be used in pretty meaningful ways!
We just started using Google Drawings...we've used it for picto graphing in primary, graphic organizers and mind maps
And it's blocked in my district ...
I'm all ears! mentioned it, too. Where there's smoke... https://t.co/rwtX7tFFQB
check out Hapara. may be able to tell you more. Has lots of good options.
me too.. Thinking of using it as a welcome starter next year ..
A4) I would highly recommend getting Dash and Dot or Lego EV3 and for those who don't have cash Prodigy
A4) Think we might purchase some more devices / chromebooks.
The old iPhone 5 still sales for 100+
A4: Money? Where? What is this that you speak of?
A4: Drone yes! Expensive drone, No. It will crash at some point. https://t.co/bbqpxFcZpN
Q4 For someone with a little money to spend at the end of the year, would you recommend it?
A4 Probably not a tech purchase. It will be obsolete by the end of the summer. :)
Hah Megan Fortunately many of these things we talked about are free. https://t.co/6aDdug0pB0
A4: Money? Where? What is this that you speak of?
What about an old iPhone 5 drive?
A4: chromebooks, best bang for your buck by a mile
Successful experiences pointed out in A1 all had to with giving Ss the time & choice to follow interests. T as meddler. Free.
A4) Check out if you have not... they even have an open source guide.
Never underestimate the power of https://t.co/ctk6mEoUEg
A4: Drone yes! Expensive drone, No. It will crash at some point. https://t.co/bbqpxFcZpN
Q4 For someone with a little money to spend at the end of the year, would you recommend it?
Have you heard some complaints about security and privacy by relying on Chrome?
My general point is that the actual badge is the last step.
A4: Hi, I'm Robin, jumping in here. Been lurking. I would buy boxes.
sometime off the chat I can explain what happened on their backend
A3 Could schools partner w tech companies & offer S progrms w actual certifications at different levels?
https://t.co/SeWDy3wcDn
just saw the announcement - looks like google version of diigo/evernote - not enough features for PM
A4: yes...GClassroom free good time to try bc no pressure, tons of free too & use existing phone/iPod & $15 cardboard
Welcome Robin... lurking is okay with us. is a must... https://t.co/G7uPRLjVpG
A4: Hi, I'm Robin, jumping in here. Been lurking. I would buy boxes.
I have, but none of the complaints were all too convincing.. not an expert in that area by any means, though
Every company I've reached out to has loved that I was making a badge for my Ts. I would say so!
Mostly hear it for tech designers
Now how bout microcredentials for students too? Skills & credentialing both important for edus & studnts
https://t.co/Jje93H9xyZ
Why can't we use standards in 20% time? Assign 2 -4 standards Ss get to pick one or two in their proposals.
almost all of my districts use chrome/gafe I haven't heard any probs but I'd like to know if there really are issues
Yes! Reach out to someone in another discipline and touch on the same topic from multiple vantage points.
what arguments are they using? Not an expert but I do stay current - and I live near a holiday in express
These are awesome. I have been developing online personalized learnign for tchrs. This is great example.
Continue doing my projects. Coding, robotics, green screen, research. more.
Agreed. Unfortunately security sometimes gets pushed to the last. We want to help schools with that.
I have one on order! Hopefully Christmas!
Take a look at . I won a free prize off of their
really want one - need to see actual product off assembly line
Thank you! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks they're cool!
just concerns about security, a couple of my districts avoid google because of it not sure if legit
Q5 are is your school purchasing anything that you are really looking forward to next year?
I will share once I get mine!
Genius Hr is not a free-for-all. Ss are still working to meet expectations. I like the scenario you shared
Basically that Google accesses the data & students are at risk in that sense for targeted ads etc
i'm thinking the same thing
There are IT & cybersecurity professionals ready, willing, & able to come to your class. FREE!
https://t.co/bGaS4y5gUR
A4: little money left over... Hmm, I'd say anything to help create a makerspace and inspire innovation in your campus
but waht are the actual concerns - one students leave district they start over with privacy
If you like the talk around credentialing follow the convos as well . Also badge summit right before ISTE
Q5: I am looking forward to my ! https://t.co/pDCwCr153u
Q5 are is your school purchasing anything that you are really looking forward to next year?
Hopefully a lot of spheros!
still waiting 4 ours to arrive. May look at trotec if doesn't come soon
A5) Not sure... what should I get
Personalize learning, as advised by . Using Diigo and Google docs for real-time response.
What about [implied:your lesson stinks] Can we go to Please? (from PK Ss. )
They already are and it has nothing to do with GAFE - yes there is indexing - they stopped it feeding ads
Love Diigo but so hard to get others on board
A5) Drones, I can not wait to play with them!
A5) I'm looking forward to our Stem Lending Library thanks to a grant from
A5: yes! I am getting a cart of 30 Chromebooks .. Really excited:) I have been using iPads .. Can't wait to integrate both!
A5: I believe our library is purchasing Google Cardboard, which I'm super stoked about!
Right. My goal is to convert 20% time to 80% time. Why not?
Kids love FBI, Spies, and secrets. Great way to teach tech. + most infosec tools are tech tools. https://t.co/ptmcVqH0yZ
Agreed. Unfortunately security sometimes gets pushed to the last. We want to help schools with that.
My diigo has exploded!!! Hard to keep up with it all https://t.co/KHjOno0Quu
Love Diigo but so hard to get others on board
first thing I'm checking out tomorrow AM!
I meant ads down the road & other invasions of privacy
We have a drone, they're very fun. Just have to train the Ss if they're using it.
A5: work at the district, but I get excited about Ts asking to buy subscriptions to platforms they believe in
Wow! nice We recently got two chromebook carts for our Pod. https://t.co/YhwCs9OiBs
A5: yes! I am getting a cart of 30 Chromebooks .. Really excited:) I have been using iPads .. Can't wait to integrate both!
I think that is a long term goal for badging - but infrastructure isn't there - and certs generate cash
Getting easy to use 3d modeling/printing software teachers can have classes+students to view creations
I am looking for to our nacho cheese fountain for 's classroom
how far - any google search starts changing ads - when they leave district profile dies
and the district pays? I love this! Ts shouldn't have to
A great goal. Ss learn best when they see purpose. Their proj becomes vehicle for learning https://t.co/QlGxFaBHES
Right. My goal is to convert 20% time to 80% time. Why not?
I guess hard work pays off eventually .. Lol
Thanks for the tips all. Good luck on your last days & spending all that $
can't say enough about Makers empire
Nothing ever dies once it is on the Internet
A5: , district accounts, more Hope to bring to our PD.
A5: piloting 1:1 Chromebooks in hs & full licenses in k-2
I'm in! My 2nd - 6th graders are ready. They just don't know it yet.
yes but unless you work to link to non school account - it will be inactive
This is the week I get to go to and get to meet AND get to go to
Hard to keep Not saying there is one but to be aware of the risks
I hope everyone found something new tonight and you have the confidence to go out and use it
Thank you so much for guiding us in the conversation tonight! Nicely done.
this one was kind of serious
Thanks and glad I jumped on to

Thank you everyone for the sharing & learning tonight on
What about strategic MOOCs w certifications for high school students?
https://t.co/gePCH1MWUW
I think that is a long term goal for badging - but infrastructure isn't there - and certs generate cash
