A2 we use our broadcast team to promote Ss made videos. We love @AdobeSpark video and @TouchCastEdu for video creation. And...just got 360 cameras in so we will be able to give Ss a way to enhance their story telling!!! So excited! #dpvils#CreateEDU

I believe student voice is very important in our classroom. As their teacher we must know beliefs, opinions, & perspectives. Knowing what makes them who they are is how we will best understand them.
To empower student voice, I believe flipgrid is a great tool. #CreateEdu

A3: Reverse the question: "Well what do you want to do?" Have also found asking them to conceptualize audience helps, to imagine creating for a yngr sibling or a parent or a friend at a diff school or. . . #createedu
A2: I’m a big fan of @AdobeSpark video because it ended the reign in my class of students choosing iMovie for everything. I also encourage stop motion apps for a different type of story telling. 🤦🏻♀️😂 #CreateEDU

A3: Build relationships and get to know your students so that they feel safe and excited to share their identity with you. Then they let go of the checklists and are more focused on creativity bc they know you care about what they bring to the table.

A3: START with a few options but leave it open-ended for the S who asks for something else. More kids will start to ask for the pathway that makes sense to them. Or that seems easiest as that can be a prob. #createedu
A3: great question especially if the school culture promotes this type of “grade” mentality. I think a rubric with clear expectations helps serve as a road map and can ease their anxiety #CreateEdu

Look for small wins. Find a normal task that you can switch up and get them comfortable thinking for themselves. Connect the learning to their passions. #createEDU
A3 first...don’t give up. Ss need to see the benefit of not always given a little box to squeeze their ideas into. Give them a wider audience!! Show that others can what they can do differently, creatively #CreateEDU

A3: in general, it's definitely a challenge. According to Linda Camino: "adults will find it hard to pass the torch if they themselves have not had a previous opportunity to hold the torch." And most adults never had opportunities as youth to 'hold the torch...' #CreateEdu /1

A3 ... and it's scary yielding that power. As adults, it's on us to embrace that discomfort, and model that discomfort, and trust young people to begin to take control of their own learning and decisions. #CreateEdu /2
A3... For some reason, we think that we can withhold those opportunities from them, and then at some magic age in the future, they'll just be fully equipped to skillfully navigate adult waters. Foolish. #CreateEdu /3
A3... We break the 'just tell me what to do' mentality by trusting them, by working with them, by supporting them, by letting them know that we don't have all the answers. A little humility goes a long way. #CreateEdu /end
A4: The traditional lab report can be transformed into a video product. Students document the process (ups and downs) in real time to show what science is really like.
#CreateEdu
A4: I adapted a persuasive essay assignment into a PSA project where students had to include multimedia along with the original essay. Just one example of SO MANY that could happen, just set it up and watch them go! 📚🎥🌟 #CreateEDU

Ts @wyattreads allowed Ss choice of video, art,& even STEM creations for a book project where students has to connect topics in the book to the real world. Everything turned in was different & Ss who chose the easy way out were inspired by those who were creative #CreateEDU
A4 Makes films and write voiceovers instead of essays on 8.5x11” paper. Much more impetus to critique and revise writing that will be heard by a captive audience through theatre speakers. #CreateEdu
