I eat in my classroom alone. My mornings are packed and I need a chance to recharge for the afternoon. I normally check my favorite news websites and Twitter to catch up and relax. #bfc530
I stopped eating lunch in the lunchroom after a few years of teaching because of all the negative conversations. I ate in my classroom, got work done, and had students come for help. Then I joined a much more positive group eating in the library office. #bfc530
Ive only been at my school 2 weeks but so far I eat lunch in my office. When I was in the classroom, I chose to eat lunch in my room and let kids stay with me if they didnt like the lunch room. #bfc530

Typically eat in the teacher's room. Teachers spend most of their day talking with kids, that for me, I need time to talk with adults too. Plus, if relationships are so important in an effective school, cultivating relationships among staff must be a part of that. #bfc530
I exercise with a small group of teachers for the first 1/2 of lunch and then we join everyone else in the staff room to eat. Usually the timing is perfect b/c everyone has gotten what they needed to off their chests by then and it's just easy, casual conversation #bfc530
I no longer work in a school building but, when I did, I ate in my room. I too often found the Teachers Lounge to be a place where negativity could be growing. I made the choice to stay away from that. Negativity can rub off over time despite our best efforts. #bfc530
Now that I'm in central office, I mostly eat at my desk. Except on Wednesdays, when a bunch of us all get together to make grilled cheese. It's important to connect with others, and lunch is a good time to do that. #bfc530

I eat lunch in my office before the official lunch time at school. It's a time to catch-up on email and SM.
I try to be in the cafeteria with students as much as possible on any given day during the official 75-minute 3-lunch period.

I have a love-hate relationship with my school's schedule. The rotation is great, but unit lunch at 10:40am not so much. So I kind of treat it like a study hall and have office hours except on the one day every 4 when I have lunch duty. #bfc530

I eat in our Math dept office. We have a table in the middle where we all eat together when we don't have a club meeting or Math Help Room duty.
We used to have a regular staff room crowd but it fizzled as people got tired of the negativity often coming up.

Because everyone in my school has lunch at the same time each day (except students who have lab once every four days and science teachers), it becomes the time when clubs meet and when extra help and office hours are available #bfc530
I grab a bite at my desk, usually while cleaning out e-mails or making a return phone call. But I try & make it to each lunch period just to see the Ss #bfc530

My daughter's high school eliminated the super early lunch issue by having every student (2000+) eat at the same time. They have an hour and can eat anywhere. Enough kids leave school or eat in classrooms that the cafeteria is not overwhelmed. #bfc530
In a previous school, the lounge breeder with negativity no matter what effort was made to be positive. I steered clear after a while. Didn't need that in my day. #bfc530
That sounds great! Took me awhile to figure out that's what I needed to restore for the afternoon. We typically do it in my class- Ss are always coming in and out- I like that they see us doing what we need to do to stay healthy #bfc530

I pretty much have to have small snacks throughout the day (if I am mindful and plan ahead) because otherwise I end up eating like, an entire deli sandwich, or just being really grumpy. #bfc530

Every Sunday I make and freeze 20 sandwiches for my children's lunches for the week, pre-pack their cookies, pretzels, apple slices, carrot sticks, etc. I plan ahead for them but not for me. After all that I'm too exhausted! #bfc530

I occasionally end up in a lunch area on a different floor. Most of them are the same, but one floor has a very spacious area with tons of windows. Every time I walk in there, I think, "Why don't I eat here every day?" #bfc530
As a P, lunch time is the Admin’s time to be out supervising and seeing kids. Then, I often eat lunch in the mid-afternoon with my VP’s in one of our offices. It’s a good way to connect during the day and share info/make plans etc. #BFC530

I made a genuine effort to eat with colleagues in the staff room last year. Such busy days...it’s our ‘down time’ when we spend some time together and build relationships among colleagues...overall, very positive! 😊 #bfc530

A: I eat lunch in the room I share with 3 other coaches. On any given day, we are hosting a lunch bunch with Ss. I enjoy these lunches bc we get to know our students better & they get to know us better as well. #BFC530
I'm like a nervous extrovert, so I also need QUIET and solitude if the lessons I've done in the morning are highly interactive. If we're coming out of digital writing workshop or quieter lessons, I'm okay to socialize w/ teacher friends. #bfc530

You learn so much during lunch duty! Some of my favorite memories come from 8th grade lunch duty at my former school... raisins = elderly grapes, the positives and negatives of seaweed, why Dr. Who was influential... ahhh middle schoolers! #bfc530

In our middle schools, after team planning time taken away, eating lunch together WAS team planning time. Then as a librarian, eating lunch in staff room was often best time to meet Ts where they were to explore possible collaborations. There were 6 diff lunch periods. #BFC530
