Love this answer--especially because I STILL want to learn French!! (And I know you all thought I was fluent with the way I welcomed @Watermelonworks) ;) #resiliencechat
That reminds me of @WarrenBuffett's quote: "In looking for people to hire, look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy. And if they don’t have the first one, the other two will kill you" #engagechat

It's just about the only thing keeping me going these days. Trees have tremendous energy. You just have to know where they want to be touched. #resiliencechat
A3: finally taking the much needed time and space required. Nothing better than a 3 day no work weekend to clear the mind.
Happy Canada day!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 #resiliencechat
That's similar to the beauty of recognizing that the strengths-based word to use instead of "victim"--which is very deficit based--is "survivor" #resiliencechat
Also, sleep training my toddler. Gained at least 30 mins of free time in the evening because I’m teaching her to fall asleep on her own. #parentingishard#resiliencechat
A3 For my wellness, daily time for exercise, yoga & prayer/meditation (even briefly for this). Also working out a schedule to return to Deval media & restart my student success blog--while also having new admin responsibilities.

I have the luxury of small class size 1 to 4 max. Most of my students are speced. We are mindful of our thoughts and feelings towards others &that it doesn't matter if we didn't know the answer, the effort is for trying and that we sought out the answer. #resiliencechat
A4 - Wow I’m struggling to come up with something specific. My principal is intentional about celebrating us, which is great. I feel appreciated. My district offered some great PDs during the summer. But those aren’t specifically about well-being IMO #resiliencechat
Q4: Any schools/districts taking the initiative for educator's and staff's well-being? What is your school/district doing to support the well-being of its educators and staff? #resiliencechat
A1 I like the 7C's & 3 R's Critical Thinking & Problem Solving, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity & Innovation, Curiosity & Inquiry, Cultural Understanding, Care for our self, others. Reflectiveness, Resilience, Risk Taking #resiliencechat
It only takes one person to start a craze, right @gjfairchild He saw a few of our initiatives, #FSUSDRunsThis and got a whole community of educators moving! It just takes that first step! #Resiliencechat

Please don't be jealous. It is a unique situation that has worked extremely well. I am so proud of all teachers that take on a full size class. It is a resiliency like no other. #resiliencechat
A4 Universities are complicated. Large, diverse, different agendas.
Often the support is monetary for various initiatives, but great HR policies are more innovative.. a la Google or Amazon or Ideo.

Q5: Appreciative Inquiry is a strengths-based process where one does not ask "What's wrong with education" but rather "What's possible in education!" What do you think is possible in education? #resiliencechat
I am pretty proud of them. Most of my time is confidence building. Basic skill development, but when that 💡goes on for them, it is amazing! They make authentic connections to Lang or math and their world. #resiliencechat
After 31 years in the business, I continue to believe that the hopes, dreams and aspirations of each student can be propelled forward by the actions of a positive, engaging, thoughtful, purposeful committed educator. So, we can all make a difference each day! #resiliencechat

A5 - First, I am a huge appreciative inquiry fan. Used it in my masters thesis! And this will sound cliche, but ANYTHING is possible with the right people driving it. I am amazed by the educators on Twitter and think we can be the army that can start change #resiliencechat
Q5: Appreciative Inquiry is a strengths-based process where one does not ask "What's wrong with education" but rather "What's possible in education!" What do you think is possible in education? #resiliencechat
I think education already tries to do this (college and career readiness, anyone?). But how can we do this BETTER? Our colleges say we send them unprepared students. Something isn’t working. #resiliencechat
A5 So much is possible in education.
Need to motivate admins & Ts.
Take stock of resources:what Ts know, would like to know/do, would like to do. To see what is possible.

I totally agree!! I have actually been working with the Robla School District supporting tchrs and staff with Appreciative Inquiry and strengths-based practices. Would love to come to Twin Rivers--or any other district to share this great stuff!! #resiliencechat
Thanks Jenny! @Watermelonworks It's kind of the premise behind the book that I am penning! "Lead with Resilience in your heart, mind, soul and actions." If we are not focused on this, then, truly what are we doing? #Resiliencechat
