#BadgeChat was founded in December, 2014 by a group of educators who are passionate about credentialing learning and achieving. While there are thousands of us around the globe issuing badges to learners, there was not yet a regular twitter chat for those of us in the K-12 space to gather for learning and sharing about badging. After reaching out to leaders in the field (like the good folks at Mozilla and The Badge Alliance) for their thoughts, #BadgeChat was born.
Looks like #BadgeChat won't actually be the interview but if you've set aside the time, we're live NOW for what I'll call an Ask Me Anything session on digital badges https://t.co/cz8NxOGVx8
#BadgeChat Hi Noah! I've been thinking about where the opportunities exist for open badges to gain footholds toward broader acceptance. I work in higher ed, so most of my thinking happens in that context.
#BadgeChat Regarding your earlier discussion of equity: I like LRNG's approach to designing pathways that address equity, i.e., pathways that grow out of particular communities.
That's a really great point! It also speaks to how *complicated* meaning making can be with equity efforts and that localized pathways based in users' communities offer us context that might help make the work of just understanding the conversation more concrete #badgechat
