A1: The three emotions I feel right now are happiness, joy, and anxiety. This seems confusing to me because if Iām happy and joyful, why am I anxious? #rethink_learning
A1: Sometimes I feel many different emotions that I donāt know what is causing them. That is, I think there is no reason. My mind is so full of things to do and think about (Mind Full) that Iām hoping to learn more about āMindfulnessā to so I can calm my mind. #rethink_learning
A2: My anxiety is happening because I have a long to-do list. I just cannot seem to check off the most important things on my list. I think about those to-dos all the time and find myself procrastinating about the ones that are the most urgent. #rethink_learning
A2: My joyful and happy thoughts are with my family and the time I have with them. I treasure any time my granddaughter reaches out to me to FaceTime. I look forward to peaceful times with my husband sharing stories, going for walks, and playing games. #rethink_learning

Yes - I think teachers are driven to check off things from their list. That's so we don't miss anything. But it can take over and be overwhelming. #rethink_learning

A3: I try to be in the moment, not the past or the future. Mindful practice is about becoming more aware of what is occurring in the present moment within ourselves and the outside world. #rethink_learning
A3: Meditation has been incredibly helpful for me in managing anxiety. I do body scans, focused breathing, and I practice gratitude to keep me in the present. I also enjoy listening to classical music and imagine I'm stepping on top of every note. #rethink_learning
A3: I need to rethink my to-do list and be practical about what is important and urgent. Every task is my choice. I have the power to do or not do what is on my list. In fact, I can take a break from making the list. #rethink_learning
A3: Some daily mindfulness activities for me: walk, garden, listen to music, meditate, write, reach out to a friend or family member each day, play, alone time, and add a daily note to my gratitude jar. #rethink_learning
How could I forget yoga?! Stretching is really helpful for me to release tension. I've also just found how amazing using a foam roller is. It's like getting a massage. #rethink_learning

Preach! But it is so scary. This is where #mindfulness comes into play in my classroom. When talking #SocialJustice with my kiddos, I am constantly asking them to go inward and notice emotions and physiological responses to remain regulated and collaborative. #rethink_learning

You are not alone! That happens to me all the time. I've learned I have to stop trying to control or calm them and just follow them around and not engage with them. So much of mindfulness is just letting it be what it is. #rethink_learning
Trying to meditate more but I find it hard to calm my thoughts and then I get frustrated because I canāt quiet my brain creating a vicious cycle. Still trying though...
A4) time to reflect and process. I know how important it is to take time for reflection, but often this is something that I neglect to do.

A4 we do some yoga breathing activities and some go noodle mindful videos. Also I really like teaching the 7 habits from Sean covey. They help ss realize how to manage their feelings #rethink_learning
A4 - the index card positivity challenge. You see how many positive comments your perts write on your card. They draw a web on the board. Great way to help kids see positivity and reflect. #rethink_learning
A4 The one that I love is having them focus prior to a test. They use singular focus to push out unwanted thoughts to bring focus to the assessment. #rethink_learning

A3 My favorite is mindful walking with no shoes. To be entirely aware of the feet on the surface is a texture-satisfying exercise in focus and joy. #rethink_learning

A therapist I saw for anxiety once compared emotions to the ocean, so it's definitely inspired by him--and it helps me in times when I need a #mindful reminder. You're always welcome to share :) #rethink_learning

Interesting! I've been learning how to visualize data and working with teachers to involve Ss to analyze and reflect on the data. Maybe it's the type of data that needs to be more authentic. What do you think? @LevineWrites#rethink_learning

What do you think abour a gratitude jar for the classroom? @joelfstrum I know some teachers that have done that and then at the end of the week, they pull a few out to read to the class. #rethink_learning
Try it and let me know how it goes! Takes a lot of modeling and heavy scaffolding (as I suppose most things do), but if you commit it pays off! #rethink_learning

A2: My dripping faucet during and after the school year has been thinking about lesson ideas and planning. It's a lot of fun for me but sometimes it's hard for me to compartmentalize and shut off that part of my brain. #rethink_learning
That's perfect! @joelfstrum We need positivity to start with teachers and admin. I've walked into some staff rooms and heard some sad things. Negativity needs to go out the window and all of us need to be mindful what we say about each other and students. #rethink_learning
I agree. When you have something you "have" to do, it's easy to have a brain freeze. That's when it is time to take a break and breathe. Doing some mindfulness activities and then come back. Thanks @JoshEcker#rethink_learning

A3: I have been meditating and going to yoga classes, two hobbies that have helped me through stressful and/or hectic parts of my life but that I got away from during the craziness of the past year. #rethink_learning
