The right ones can inspire students to go further and take action - particularly when tied to the unit. Our Ss were so sad after a trip to the zoo that they drew pictures of the unhappy elelphants(no water to splash in) and we sent it to the zoo #EdchatPH

Transferring learning beyond the classroom. Can they? Do they make different connections? A great way for Ts to step back, observe and assess #edchatPH

a1. #edchatph Went to a planetarium in grade 6. Just the sheet expanse of that vast unknown both scared & fascinated me. Indian upbringing is rooted in mythological references so I would spend months after that reading up about cosmos and aligning it with the scriptures.

a2. #edchatph Done well, it can be pretty powerful since it takes the child outside the confines of a schooling culture and yet without losing the context. Not all field trips may turn out beneficial for everyone in an obvious way but there is definitely some impact on mindset.

a3. #edchatph In https://t.co/5iArvwH6Qq fields trips are a little tricky since their technical nature is a challenge. But if I could, I would let kids spend time brainstorming ideas as step 1. If the requirements come from them then whatever is possible next can be well aligned.
