Twitter Chats are a great way for you and other educators to collaborate, generate new ideas, and discuss various Edmodo-topics. During Twitter Chats, moderators lead a conversation on Twitter about a specific topic using a pre-determined #hashtag on every tweet, and participants can join in the conversation by responding with that #hashtag.
The amazing Edmodo Support Ambassadors organize a Twitter Chat every first and third Sunday of the month at 8pm Eastern using the hashtag #edmodochat.
Today, we will be discussing the end of the school year! We will be reflecting on our own experiences and sharing resources for making the most of this time period. #EdmodoChat
Hi everyone! I'm a former 6~12th Science & CompSci teacher, currently serving as a Teacher Advocate at @Edmodo! So excited to hear from our wonderful teachers around the world to celebrate their successes from the past year & share ideas to bring year to close #edmodochat
A1 Last day with students is tomorrow, Wednesday for Ts, I am excited for time to relax w/family, after a month of conferences and time with PLN #edmodochat
A1 Not currently in the classroom, but I'm looking forward to my son being out of school. He has exams this week and will be done on Wednesday! Daughter is already home from college and starts summer courses tomorrow. #edmodochat
AIB: Ss says his mom went to hospital to get x-ray of baby, although we knew he was only child. Found out he meant she was pregnant and received an ultrasound. #EdmodoChat
A1- The last day with students was FRIDAY. WE have a prep day tomorrow to close out our rooms! Looking forward to catching up on my sleep this summer! #edmodochat
Yes, and we learned more about this by connecting for #pbl through @edmodo, one of the schools is in Argentina, my Ss were surprised when they were on break #edmodochat

A2 I have a long list of ideas, new things to try, perfect opportunity to try them, also with #pbl and student presentations, great way to have them lead #edmodochat
A2- Gamification helps. My SS were so competitive this year they were working up until the last second to get to the top of the leaderboard. #edmodochat
#Edmodochat A2 We participate in global events like the Hour of Code or PenPal Schools projects or create learning experiences in Virtual scenarios. I will be including character animation and explanimations this year if possible. I have more ideas than time allowance.
A2 I have the students write in memory books on the last couple days. We also take time to look at writing samples to see how our writing has grown over the past school year. I also continue stations up until the last day #Edmodochat
A2: Continue with routine of collaborative projects and challenging word games, reflective activities, preparation for Open House (was a week ago), and maintaining high expectations. #EdmodoChat

I actually started a @TED_ED club at my school this year, excited to keep it going, and over the summer we are going to use @Flipgrid to share ideas and stay connected #edmodochat
A3 Usually try to do some fun activities like a @GooseChase or have some field trip at the end of the year, also welcome students with fun music, be flexible in learning activities and have some fun #edmodochat
A3: #EdmodoChat- I create a memory book filled with pictures from the school year to give to each student at the end of the year. I also hand out certificates.
#Edmodochat A3 As it is a private ESL school with only 2 hour contact classes a week and extra flipped classes, there is an annual portfolio that students and I create class by class and an exchange of salutations.

{edmodo: RT christibcollins: A3: #EdmodoChat- I create a memory book filled with pictures from the school year to give to each student at the end of the year. I also hand out certificates.]
A4: #EdmodoChat- I ask students to write a letter reflecting on their school year, along with words of advice for upcoming students. Each letter is sealed in an envelope and randomly given to new students on the first day of school.
#Edmodochat A4 I encourage weekly reflections to scaffold metacognitive and critical thinking skills through annotations, talks and polls allowing student voice, choice, agency and commitment. At the end of the year , we consider main points for discussion and improvement .
Q4 - Student reflection is SO important. In 20 years, Ss may not remember all the science vocab i taught them, but they will certainly remember that their teacher cared for them, valued their presence, and built a classroom community full of good memories #edmodochat [1]
A4: Yes, we have a year book, but most importantly the portfolios I mentioned before. For many of our 8th graders they are a compilation of 4 years of work. https://t.co/NJgziRMJAb#edmodochat
A4 - a shameless plug for a recent blog post I wrote for the @Edmodo blog, which includes an easy-to-implement idea for a digital yearbook for the class! https://t.co/jOBcWFbm28#edmodochat

#EdmodoChat A3 I have a point system in my class and the winning side gets dismissed to go first. When it is a tie, I jokingly say, "In case of a tie, wear it." I encourage my students to wear said tie on the last day of school.
It's so important to include parents! And leverage their help at the end of the school year. Any other ideas, friends, for including families? #edmodochat
Connecting with teachers on Pinterest and Instagram has been a great way to learn and implement new ideas. I also just finished my masters degree which wasn’t free or virtual and that took up a majority of my spare time so I’m not a great resource 😂 #EdmodoChat

{edmodo: RT christibcollins: Q6: #EdmodoChat - How do you manage Edmodo at the end of the school year? Do you archive your classes? Do you set up summer reading groups? https://t.co/KIuBUPcqgZ]
A6 We still connect through it for summer assignments and other questions, I share resources for helping Ss avoid the summer slide, also with #PBL I want our connection with the other schools still available #edmodochat
#Edmodochat A6 I archive my classes but provide feedback or scaffolding to students who require it. As their agenda is full of outdoor activities, they use the yearly reading list.
A6- Edmodo is so important at the end of the year. SS are working on PBL and presentations and Edmodo is the platform they use to house their work. #edmodochat
A6: I archive all my classes, but... I set up a new class called Edmodo summer, where I post things I find interesting for students and encourage them to keep in touch. #edmodochat
I've seen a librarian in my town post QR reading challenges for kids all over ... at the ice cream shop, at a restaurant, at the pool etc. I loved this idea and I bet you could tie it to an Edmodo group for discussions! #edmodochat
A6 cont: For our graduating students I have Edmodo Alumni and ask students to join if they wish. It's nice to hear back from them every once in a while. Also useful for the few that ask for letters of rec down the line. #edmodochat
#EdmodoChat A6 I do not archive until the end of summer. I encourage students to post vacation pics. I also post badge challenges, brain teasers, funny videos, etc. Many students get lonely over the summer. @edmodo is a huge help!

#EdmodoChat A6.I leave all groups especially those regarding projects open. We arrange Skype on two occasions in the summer.
I grant final badges to students. They can exchange them for hints in the scavengerhunt field game.
Q7: #EdmodoChat - What are some things in your class that you think went really well this year? What do you want to change in your classroom next year?
A7- What went well was doing more global collaboration project my SS love them. What I want to change is making more time for celebrations of learning. #EdmodoChat
A7: #EdmodoChat- The Flippity badge tracker I used with my students went well and I plan to start it from the first day of class instead of waiting till October: https://t.co/qpztRtY9Wq
#Edmodochat A7 We have been able to manage time and resources better this year. I would like my class to be more media literate to mentor and learn from peers across subjects and beyond time-zones , language barriers and geographic coordinates.
#EdmodoChat A7 I started a new class job this year - pencil protecter! This person distributes and collects borrowed pencils for me. They are tenacious! It sounds sillybut thhese routines free me up to concentrate on teaching!!
A7: The gamified aspects of my teaching went well, and engaged students. However I need to work on the storyline (which will completely change) as it fizzled out mid-year. #edmodochat
A7 Getting rid of rows, not standing in the front of the room, #pbl and just having students learn in stations, next year more of the same, just build on this after reflecting this summer #edmodochat

#EdmodoChat A7. difficult question because I change school. I'm going back to high school from elementary school. I want to develop cooperation with the University of Silesia and teaching about the media and global education (good conversation club).
Hahahaha! I love this new class job: pencil protector! I remember fondly the struggles in my classrooms with lost and found pencils. #pencilchat#edmodochat
