Inspired by the brilliantly successful, powerful learning and collaboration opportunity that is the weekly #edchat, #elemchat was created to provide elementary (or primary) school educators with a venue for discussing issues and strategies that are specific to teaching in their context.
I loved the ideas in this article, especially no. 3 Spangle! I think that with new resources in schools (such as #Makerspace and #EAST Labs) printing a "life-size character drawing" is no longer such a far-fetched idea. #elemchat
A2: I think it's an online website where students can create projects. They are asked to research and provide resources that they used. The project then ha o be shared with the class and the rest of the world #elemchat
I think a big part of genius hour is to share the student's experiences and findings with their community, but even if that's on a smaller scale (within the school) it would work #elemchat
While a person may possess the numerous qualities of an effective #leader and be a stellar communicator, it is by leading with the inclusion of the 3Ms that he or she will truly shine. https://t.co/BtKn6DnvTo#edchat#elemchat#mschat
I think it would be a really good idea to use it for students to play math and science games or even to use it for students to learn how to read/write #elemchat

A4: I think technology can be very distracting at an elementary age but I also think that it has played a huge role in how students learn and we should use it if it will benefit students and the way they learn. #elemchat
I'm curious, what type of tech do you have available for your students? Do you have much support from your district in implementation? @SVVSDdts#SVVSDTechBingo#elemchat
I had 1:1 Chromebooks last year and I think I started using tech when it wasn't necessary. Back to 2:1 this year with 6 iPads and I'm much more purposeful. Pleasantly surprised! #elemchat
I think it depends on the student and the device/game being used, sometimes working in pairs might hurt the student(s) more than benefiting them #elemchat

I actually am still in school! But where I student taught every student had an iPad that came predownloaded with educational, unmodifiable apps. The students bring them to and from school and use Canvas to submit work! #elemchat
A4: i interned in a special needs class and the most efficient device for us were their peg books.. ipads allowed them to do much more than educational things #elemchat
