The mission of BFC is to empower participants to make a difference in education by engaging in consistent reflective practice in a supportive community that inspires and challenges one another.
I would love to say baseball player, but I could never hit the curve. It's a tough question, because I switched my major (& college) so many times in my undergrad yrs that when I settled on teaching history, it just fit #bfc530
#bfc530 I will always be a #teacher in my heart; right now I am working as a #writer, and I develop curriculum based on integration of #film. As I told my former #students, "I still #teach people, just in a different way."
Good morning everyone- I would convert an old school bus into a travelling library. I'd still be able to visit all of my old students - but no pressure of schedules/timelines- lots of beanbag chairs and good books #bfc530
I love so many things it’s hard to choose. For years I taught wilderness survival and that was a really happy time. I love writing books and working with fiber. Maybe a little of everything! #bfc530
If I were not a teacher I would be ... not sure ... if I kept to the college route probably a Lawyer ... no college would have been a carpenter/furniture builder #bfc530

I would love to be a writer, the focus needed is something that escapes me. Maybe why I like using Twitter, I can focus enough for 280 characters LOL #bfc530
If I started all over from age 18, I think forest / park ranger. Something more outdoorsy.
As a midlife change, editor/writer. After the SB commercials, marketing/advertising. *I* could have done better!

After 29 years, it’s hard to imagine choosing a career other than being a teacher...it’s been my passion and priority for so long! Despite the challenges, it is a calling...a gift...a mission...a blessing! 😊 #bfc530#JoyfulLeaders#tlap
Would have been a resturant owner. I spent 15 year in the biz with a friend who is a chef. She owns her own place now. And I belong where I am:)

I enjoyed working at a camp in my college years, maybe I would have been a camp administrator. Was a part time church youth director in my 20's, but I had the opportunity to become a full-time but chose teaching. Im not sure if I could work full time in a church #bfc530
I was in a rock band back in high school that was pretty good (if I do say so myself!), but most likely I would have become an Actuary...very different career options for the mathematical punk rockstar! #bfc530
#bfc530 Good Morning, #BFC530 without any question, I'd be a volunteer who worked with anyone from new moms, the homeless and babies who needed to be held. I'd also be in pet shelters in the regular. I'd lead expeditions outside for kids as well. :)
Hi everyone! Culliope from NH here. I don't know, teacher is a good fit. I'd also like to work on writing/directing/producing children's theater or design games full time. Or be independently wealthy and be a professional traveler and volunteer! #bfc530
If I weren't a teacher, I'd be a tradesman or laborer. I'm fact, I think it was stigma fear from parents that kept me from commiting to just that in the first place. Don't stigmitize "non-college" jobs. #bfc530
Mentor, adviser, counselor, writer, coordinator, assistant, editor, sponsor, reviewer, grant specialist, tech support staff, librarian -- all teachers, though their pay stub may read otherwise. Be a teacher. #bfc530
tropical island tikibar bartender?
I mean, is there any teacher not second-career ready as a bartender? Ok, maybe sommelier.
Island upscale restaurant sommelier!

My brother in law and one of my best friends both realized in high school they were not wired for college. Both went to trade school, but are highly successful today in a job they love (and both never had college debt) #bfc530

My cousin read in Parade Magazine yrs ago how actuaries are the least stressed highest paying job. It became his goal to be one in high school. Went to an actuarial school in NYC & his primary residence is on a Caribbean Island today. #bfc530
Have a great day #bfc530! Always a pleasure to chat with a cup of coffee in my hand. If you are looking for something to listen to this morning, check out the first episode of the Teacher Dad Podcast on The Flipping Philosophy https://t.co/hqaYaBXVGH#teacherdad
OMG LOVE!
ooooo! Can there be a back room with NO CHILDREN, NO ADMINS allowed so Ts can correct papers and work on lesson plans peacefully?
I'd go there.
#bfc530
Got distracted this morning so I missed the chat but in my next life I want to be a ranger in the national parks, definitely with a focus on education! #BFC530

I love sharing current events like this w/my students. The story of a courageous little girl’s fight for her life & a boy who should be exemplified, not bullied. #mschat#njed#satchat#bfc530#sel#edchat
My current event yesterday was about the bullying of Joshua Trump for his last name & his trip to the #SOTU. His showing empathy for the young cancer survivor Grace Eline of Gillette, NJ last night will be highlighted today in class. #weareChesterNJ#cullenclass
I would be a computer engineer. I love programming and coding. Now, before I retire, I’m wanting to become some sort of administrator that handles disciplinary issues or some sort of staff/student support. #bfc530
