Instead of holiday gifting, we wait until spring when everyone has had enough. You pull a name and then for a week perform secret (or not-so-secret) acts of kindness. Aka get out of recess duty free, or a nice coffee gift. #bfc530
We are so large and across two schools that we usually stick to departments. Mine goes out to eat a lot together:) Math Department hosts breakfasts & the do a cook out later in the year. #bfc530
We have soup and salad days + treat days...so many gather in our staff room to ‘break bread’ together! It’s really great to gather briefly, in the midst of our busy school days! #bfc530
My faculty holds monthly "birthday breakfasts" to celebrate in the lounge, and often little bowls of candies or goodies show up at the sign-in book counter. We also get little notes of appreciation at random times, which is a nice gesture. #bfc530
A small group of teachers organized a monthly "coffee house." All staff members were invited. About ten volunteers would bring food, we'd make coffee, and spend a half hour before first period chatting with colleagues. #bfc530@FrAnimalVA
Great ?, teacher morale is so important but seems to be a low priority. Not sure we do anything official. I have built some great friendships over the yrs including 2 friends opening their homes to my family when our house sale & new house buy had a gap of a few months #bfc530
Potluck luncheons in December and June are something we look forward to.
This past week, the fall musical had faculty get appearances for its Opening Night!

We've tried different things, some stick, some don't. Book club, potlucks during PD days, breakfast treats. Friday afternoons many gather, but it's not all. #bfc530
Happy Monday all! We have a sunshine club that spearheads kind acts like cards presents and our p often cooks delicious treats and meals for us. We also share positive stories every week at staff meeting which is such a boost. #bfc530
We did Secret Santa one year & the librarian & I had each other & decided to buy $10 of scratch offs & split the winnings. We split over $300. Cha-Ching! #bfc530

A lot of morale for me as a teacher comes from how my admins treat me & how much trust they put in me. I have been blessed to have encouraging admins @blackriverms that dont micromanage & allow me to thrive for the sake of my students #bfc530

At year end staff gathering the teacher of the year is awarded, picked by a committee of the previous winners.
We also roast colleagues for funny faux-pas they madethrough the year.
It's a great year end tradition.

The thing about #bfc530 that everyone is missing is that we are on the verge of runaway climate change and we need a complete re-think of the global economy to ensure a just society & avoid planetary catastrophe.

Good morning from Key West! Our faculty has a “Sunshine Club” and birthdays, marathons, and other news worthy events get recognized. They also plan breakfasts and other events #BFC530
We have a sunshine jar. At our staff mettings we give kudos to those who have helped, supported, done etc; and put 💵in the jar. We use the 💵 for our end of year celebration for all. #bfc530
