I have also used #HourOfCode projects outside of December. They work great for days a majority of the class is out testing or an extra fill in activity when we need a break from other lessons. #moedchat
A2: Coding teaches our students to thing in both small and larger pieces. Thinking of the details towards a broader picture. Truly remarkable lenses to look through. #MOedchat

I think it goes beyond just problem solvers, coding teaches kids a systematic method of solving a problem which then can be adapted to other areas #MOedchat

A5 Older Ss have created websites. Some Ss have worked with @Raspberry_Pi Others have created amazing artwork. Many code our robots & create games. Lots of applications. One of my favorite times of the year because Ss can follow/develop interests. #moedchat#HourOfCode

A5 Currently have some kids using @microbit_edu to power a moving cardboard sculpture (llama and chicken), others have a @SpheroEdu powered basketball hoop to move around, One student using @BloxelsBuilder to build a series of games based on himself as a superhero #MOedchat
iPads really help coding come alive when paired with robots. The drag and drop, run, revise, run, revise loop makes it super engaging and the quick feedback is motivating. #moedchat#HourOfCode

A6 Aside from don't buy the t-shirts advertised on this chat... just dive into it, the kids will figure it out even if you don't really know what you are doing. Challenge them to make it useful in your subject and I'll bet that they will make something amazing! #MOedchat
I remember how proud I was printing out my #HourOfCode certificate. The students wanted their printed out, too! @jhox1 encouraged me to sign my classes up and that truly made a huge difference. #moedchat
