The most unusual thing on my desk is this. A gift from my daughter for Christmas. I think she got it for me so she could play with it like the cat she got me for Father's Day. So I brought it to school so she can only play w/it when she visits me. #bfc530
I don’t have a “desk” ... I have a sound cart ... it is the black hole of randomness ... sometimes you could find a stapler there but more likely to find a screw driver or a piece of wood. #bfc530
Right now there sits fake buck teeth that I grabbed at the dollar store, and a pencil sharpener that you stick the pencil in the nostrils to sharpen 😄 #bfc530
Bandaids, gloves, noise machines, lip balm, homework passes, and random keys left by a predecessor are on top, under that layer, I can’t remember. #bfc530
Unusual but sentimental, I have a miniature bicycle made from red paper clips in my desk. I was a Christmas gift from a student that I was kept there. #bfc530
A NY Rangers practice hockey puck.
I keep a yarmulke (I'm Catholic).
I have a Matchbox car ambulance.
Usually a snack, like Belvita crackers.
Some international currency - euros, Rupees, DM, and a couple of others..
I dunno. I've got a mish-mash of things in there.

Deodorant.
I haven't used it in years, but it's still in my drawer. But it's hard to break old habits. I used to re-apply mid-day when I worked at schools without air conditioning.

A wind up toy monkey, I use him to teach kinetic vs. potential energy. I also have a corkscrew from my predecessor that I’ve never gotten rid of or used but, you never know! #BFC530
My coloured pen story...
Someone on twitter recommended some. i ordered them from the US and waited 3 weeks for them to arrive.
All the time I was boasting to my friend about these pens that were coming.
When they did she went to local stationary store and bought the same #BFC530
I have a sink in my classroom (it was an old science lab). When students ask me why I have a toothbrush & toothpaste next to it, I tell them "To practice good dental hygiene, why else?" #bfc530
I didn't mention that in my list. Just assumed it was a staple item, like pens and pencils and such!
Toothbrush and travel tube of toothpaste, too. Minty...Ahhhhhh!

When I moved my teacher desk out of my classroom I was surprised to find I'd collected 3 lighters in there for some reason! And I don't teach science. 🤷🏼♀️ #bfc530
After a morning of several cups of coffee, a quick brush feels good for me, and probably freshens the day of anyone who has to smell my breath too #bfc530

It's a punch'n'judy character and a dragon that push and pull. It's always floating around and I don't quite know what to do with it but can't be to throw it either.

I moved to a new house a few years ago. Im still opening up boxes of stuff I just jammed into a box at the end of the move. The surprise of discovering what I actually brought with me and still have on opening them is kind of like Christmas as a kid. #bfc530
Oh my when I left my school last year the custodial staff must have hated me for two weeks, I think I tossed out 50 binders worth of outdated stuff #bfc530

I got rid of so much but still have some sentimental stuff... I keep on my desk a pic of my kids school with the flag at half mast when their mum died... reminds me that community is what matters #BFC530
