A1 A long beard has been a great tool for me to use
Can't wait! We're upgrading later this year from 16gb!
if you buy any device, other than a chromebook, with 16 gb, send it back & spend more money.
When I saw our Theology classes using it to draw what they learned on a topic - made my day! Great review!
good for wiping the screen.
After having MacBooks for years then piloting iPads, I would rather have nothing than lose my iPads. https://t.co/NslxCtvGU6

Use of to share work with classmates and create digital workflow for teachers - amazing!
Lets keep this chat focused. iPad Vs. Chromebooks is a moot point like Apple Vs Artichokes
8th graders & freshmen made iBooks on genetic disorders including screencast of how they occur
Thank you for the resource . I will explore!
like artichokes, chromebooks are cheaper than ipads. i was only talking about cost.
A2: To flip paradigm, I was blown away by what my Ss could take apart & learn from in our BreakerSpace. Incredible
A2: Ss had 60 min to make a recipe using puff pastry, create a tastemade video, and post to Google classroom. They rocked it!
A2: Biggest creative impact has been in Ss as producers. Film has played such a huge role in how our Ss express their ideas.

We give heart. Next year will build on this one.
A3 I avoid those 4 letter like the plague
Thanks. I was about to watch it earlier and then .. Squirrel.
A3: Using It was basic question & answer activity but the instant feedback I could provide instantly engaged them.
Point is they're not the same thing so price is moot.
Using the text to speech dictation feature of the iPad and apps allows many students to capture their thoughts & story
A3: Note SAMR = Substitution, Augmentation, Modification & Redefinition if you haven't seen that acronym https://t.co/GaVFxaNVzG
it' hrd to pell without the
A3: is a great way of SA-ing simple notes
A3: If we are trying to transform learning & make real change, the S is irrelevant. Redefine through creation & collaboration
A3: is an awesome way for Ss to learn in a fast paced engaging game based style. Its S or A on SAMR but so awesome.
So many times voice and creativity are lost when writing is a struggle that interrupts & takes over the focus on the story
A3 it limits student freedom to choose. Tech isn't always the answer
try telling schools without money that price doesn't matter.
A3: Audio in Notability = Teacher speaks feedback. Student listens and integrates. Like an asynch writing conference
A3: virtual field trips & connecting with classrooms around the world instantly engage students
I asked about the S. He says it’s there for a purpose to build and grow. Can't “MR” the whole classroom exp.
And the other way around to help Ss who struggle with reading. Very powerful for a 'simple' tool
YES! Get or going about Mystery Skype -- if you have all day. https://t.co/QUPptpK5iy
A3: virtual field trips & connecting with classrooms around the world instantly engage students
Notes on steroids with drawings, audio, photos, and the sharability.
As an art school graduate, I feel you. Ss need to chose the right tool at the right time.
I totally understand that pt. It's where we started in our 1:1 w/ Ts. I just see it as more damaging now
I blame you for Question 3
A3) Reduced paper waste by uploading PDFs instead of printing. Less than 100 sheets used this term!
as a hater of 4 letter acronyms, I hear you
Was intro'd to last week- similar but self paced. Great for Ss that can read ?s independently https://t.co/iVL4u7rEGD
A3: is an awesome way for Ss to learn in a fast paced engaging game based style. Its S or A on SAMR but so awesome.
When I saw it pop up, I knew where your responses would be. I understand your position.
True, but you might not create an augmented reality exp. to get a shopping list together. Technology with a purpose.
A3: Writers workshop through - virtual writers notebook
FREE MUSIC PROMO For Up & Coming Artists🎶🎤🎧 Send Your Music To artbychey@gmail.com For FREE Exposure!
Also great for organizing. Scan paper notes as PDF's & place into folders in Notability
Way to get on the new tool(s). Hopefully it helps make brochures disappear as class projects.
Does scanning notes and keeping/annotating in use a lot of memory?

A4: helps Ss learn how to create, share and learn with community in the cloud
A4 Creating authentic work while considering purpose and audience.

A4: Clssrm Twitter acct via iPads has globally connected us w/ other Ss. for communicating w/ Ps has been priceless

Hey check Macbeth Podcast Projects: Ss connect w experts, explore, & are empowered. https://t.co/JdV3beuxgC
Excited that helps Ss share their understanding in ways previously impossible. Connects Ss w experts, empowers them!
is such a great way to share Ss created material.
A4: iPad + Inclusion Setting = The Perfect Environment! ALL Ss engaged & clearly communicating with their peers
A4: I love when I see my students use iPad Messenger or Snapchat to ask questions or share their learning.
You know the convo is great when you cant keep track. So many great ideas being shared right now
A4: coll & comm are my fav things about gamified class. We use ipads everyday to share ideas via Google classroom, etc.
Q5 is coming up! Don’t want to run out of time!
A4: for connecting with parents & for global connections!
These are such essential skills for the Ss future. Too many Ts focus on skills the Ts needed.
are you trying to say Leonard Nimoy looked like an owl
Why don't Ts blog more? You don't have time to reflect? You don't have time to grow & connect? I don't get it.
I'm guilty of not being a blogger.
A4:Started / global collab rdg prject - .Was gr8 way 4 my Ss 2 share lrng & lrn from others
Need to look beyond the initial cost. Life of device and educational impact.
Yeah but you're using SnapChat in the classroom, so that good trumps my berating of you earlier.
Be not afraid . Your co-orgs (OK ) faithfully archive every chat every week. https://t.co/9wbKwFLyHv
You know the convo is great when you cant keep track. So many great ideas being shared right now
that is why a raspberry pi will alway be the perfect choice
Can't wait to implement with my new class in the fall. Will open so many more doors!
My biggest “missed opp” of the year was that I did not blog enough. Working this summer to change that.
I think many don't think what they have to share is valuable.
My goal is once a week for this upcoming year. Now that I put it out there in public, I have to do it.
A5 we celebrate paper by making sketches of ideas
A5 Ss excited to share via blog & twitter. Also very proud of their work & QR codes on bulletin boards. S led conferences too.
A5: After a unit & tech project when students go home and actually discuss their learning with family. Beyond the device.
Mwhaha. Still waiting on my "$9 computer" I backed on
Gotta screengrab that one!
Need to share in smaller environment first. Maybe all school PD. Quick post in ?
These are the stories I want to hear. “What did you do at school today?” - Let me show you!
Tossing in the invisible towel. Thank you . A lot of great info in tonight's
Thanks for joining us and sharing with us!
Q6 is on the horizon! Almost done. The hour blew by!
A5: this one has me stumped, probably not good
A5: When they like it enough to use it at home. We used and this week. They loved the projects.
I understand that. Ts start with it & hand over classroom blog to students Share experience
Thanks for being here Always good to have you with us.
Its a work in progress. Took me 3 years to develop. The Invisible iPad makes visits to schools.
Agree but sometimes putting yourself out there in front of colleagues can be even more intimidating
A5: Staff come in to judge competitions and video pres created on iPad.
Q6: Celebrate your success! Please share a resource showcasing you and your student's amazing work! https://t.co/uxWzSvQmby
Don't just chat, change. What idea/concept will you take away from this chat to change/improve your practice TOMORROW?
A6: Great for quick interactive learning and projects.
Everyone needs to have a purpose and understand of tech. Mindset before Process & Function.
My other goal is to hangout with this summer & learn more about using
A6 I used Book Creator to make a memory book and downloaded to Seesaw parents loved it
Our focus always starts with where Ts want Ss to go. Then we choose tool(s) & reflect later
Thank you for an amazing chat! If iPads ain’t your thing thats ok because it’s NOT about the device! https://t.co/ZhaLFRhtS1
