R2: hope might be a two way street also for our Ss and ourselves. We hope they get the material. The Ss hope (whether they admit it or not) that they can learn the material and pass. They don’t come to us wanting to fail, get in trouble, etc. #IDedchat

R3: This. And to piggyback, instilling hope takes work also. All hard work takes time. It might not be something that we see tomorrow or next year or whenever. We instill the mindset that will pay off down the road. #IDedchat

R3: It takes one success from a struggling student to facilitate an opportunity for continuous opportunity for growth. My job is to believe in my Ss, give them hope, and get them to that opportunity. Once there, I have established something! #IDedchat

R4: Teaching HOPE MUST be a deliberate action. It should be discussed in #PLCs, dept meetings, faculty meetings. It’s setting ambitious goals with Ss and Ts. Ts should share their hopes with Ss and with colleagues. We celebrate them together. #IDedchat

A5 i think we know what hope is, it is the positive outlook on the future, and that our Ss can succeed no matter where they come from or what kind of home life they have. #IDedchat Failure is not an option and we teach them how to succeed

I take pride in bringing life lessons into my classes (Pre-Calculus and Math of Industry and Government)
