Before we get started, lets introduce ourselves and follow new connections!

Hello from CT! Hope all is great
-
Zane Quesenberry, FA relocating from TN to VA, former Bearden HS coach, Knoxville, TN
-
If I had a dollar for every time player asked me which camp should I attend...I would be chatting with yall on a Large Computer

Frank Wilczynski, HC/OC, Overbrook HS, Pine Hill, NJ
-
Dean Munkers OL/DL Stayton HS Oregon
-
Josh Ragsdale, HFC at South Garland HS
-
When I ask a player "why are you attending this or that combine/ camp? They have no defined answer.
-
-
Time out. I go t so excited I to share with all, I forgot to give props to my teammates in TX.
and
-
Andrew Bauer run game coordinator/offensive line coach at Liberty Union High School Ohio

Game on.. I always ask player/family to define their football goals for the next 2-3 yrs.
-
Brandon Wilcox
HFC Montevallo HS (AL)
-
Colbry Lathan RB / LB coach
Okolona High School
Okolona, MS
-
Players and families are limited to 2 resources- Time & $$. So plan attending the events that provide the best ROI towards goals
-
For example: if they want to earn a starting position. Then they need to attend a Technique Development camp to improve skills.
-
James Soria
Offensive Coordinator
Houston Austin HS
-
Any coach can debate that a player can "improve" with each rep regardless of what camp they attend or who is the camp coach.
-
-
This facts getting more interesting every Wednesday. I am learning a little more week by week. Keep them coming.
-
This is advice I have given athletes at recruiting seminars RE: improving technique and summer camps... https://t.co/IdUwE9QQOD
-
The point that the level of experience of "said camp coach" will determine, to what degree of development a player will have.
-
Back to player's goal of exposure to next level..they you need to attend camps/ combines with those who can get you there.
-
Am I missing something tonight? Or is there no format/conversation going on?
-
I try to get them to understand that they may drive by 12 great camps on the way to that fancy 1.
-
It's a drawn out sales pitch for FBU camps
-
If a player wants to be a "national prospect" they must attend events with others that level or where media will talk them up
-
it's all about getting in front of the right eyes that can help push a player's "brand/ name" out farther.
-
this is false. From '11-'14 I was fortunate to coach 5 All-Americans. They werent highly recruited b/c "the media"
-
we have a guest talking about recruiting...feel free to ask questions and comment on anything!
-
If I were to steer an athlete to a great instructional camp in TX... what 1 or 2 would you TX guys recommend?
-
I respect u, so don't take wrong way, but ur not saying anything, vague talking pts, hence no discussion going on.
-
Joe, How do the kids who are not looking DI look for the right camps?
-
Start with their head coach's recommendation https://t.co/NU5LkrH8QL

-
Joe, How do the kids who are not looking DI look for the right camps?
-
I'll say this- FBU camps are best run camps out there. But if your kid wants exposure, they need to go to the college's camps.
-
We have we run in TX. Houston & Dallas and coming up Get with
-
Late to the party! Tony Shiffman. Offensive line!
-
college coaches aren't going to gamble their 6 figure salary on what "the media", who knows nothing about a kid's home life, say
-
Our crew - if u have questions about how 2 find the right camp feel free to ask -
-
Based on database last wk, I hunted down FCS & D2 1-day camps, posted em 4 our guys. Seemed 2 help 4 planning.
-
not to to brag but the is great place for D2/ D3 players as we have exposure components.
-
how can we as coaches convince our kids and promote them to go to the right camps and not money scammers?
-
Talked 2 a kid who is going 2 an Ivy League camp, grades will never get him in, how do u handle that?
-
That was a great list and helpful for players who that is there target
-
you be honest with him. Lovingly. Pull out his transcript & show him the facts, then show him alternative schools
-
Research- Who is that camp partnered with? What in addition to coaches is offered for families? History of camp
-
Following from Vermont Mike Empey Bellows Falls UHS Line coach
-
Yeah I figure all kids know FBS schools, not all aware of some FCS/D2's that could b great fit.
-
Is there a message board or closed FB group where HS coaches can honestly evaluate different camps?
-
As a former D3 player , I am in location where we have more smaller programs along with all IVY & Nescac (Little IVY)
-
-
It's also important for kids not to attend too many camps thoughout summer. So make sure they attend the most beneficial.
-
I've seen 1st hand kids get worse & lose strength bc they spend so much time at summer camps
-
At in OH, NJ, CT MA , I have invited D3/D2 schools to observe the players & talk after practice
-
Only camps in VT Middlebury and Caselton State best we had was NFLHSPD at Norwich cancelled du to low numbers it was free
-
How many coaches are familiar with NESCAC schools? They recruited nationally & have $$ based on Merritt.
-
(1/2) satellite camp rule (which may get tabled tmrw) only affect D1-FBS. FCS & below are still having camps w/ multiple schools
-
-
I ran them here in CT and pains me they are gone
-
(2/2) so if your kids want exposure, find those camps with lots of different college coaches actually there & COACHING it.
-
-
Academic admission standards r super tough, but the education kids can get there is amazing. Solid FBall too.
-
(1/2) If any coaches want some actual help on what tonight's topic was, feel free to DM me. I don't know everything but...
-
I now speak to families about "Chasing a Zero Balance College" not the athletic scholarship. Go where U fit best + Play for less
-
(2/3) because I was lucky to have some natural freaks lately, including the #1 player in USA, I made a lot of connections &...
-
(3/3) ... I'll share what has worked for helping our kids get recruited and getting more colleges on our campus.
-
Fit is so important. Going to "whoever gives the most $" can often end in transfer, looking 4 right fit. https://t.co/WdvXFphgfz

Always great information being shared by coaches across the country. Thanks
-
Most parents don't know that hidden $$ in "non scholarship" programs. Grades are key!
-
The grades are so key. Keeps so many options on table. Seen poor grades end recruitment. Books open doors.
