Morning everyone! That’s all I have this morning - getting ready to leave the house for the 8th grade field trip to Savannah! Chaperoning the kids I taught two years ago 😜👍 #bfc530
Ss made me proud, so while I am frustrated with the test itself, my Ss def are showing me how far they have come. Proud teacher! How are the interviews? #bfc530
I like to read 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez every few summers. It’s a gorgeous, enchanting novel but takes all my brain power to read it the right way. #bfc530
I have a few books on @NetGalley I can’t wait to dive into. Currently reading #usagainstyou. It is the #beartown #2 by the author of a man called Ove. Awesome series! #bfc530
I have developed into a non-fiction reader. I have the Hamilton biography, then Homo Deus by YN Harari on tap for poolside this summer! Plus some PD books. #bfc530
I've got about 4-5 books in the barrel, loaded, and ready to go. Everything from historical events in the Middle East to Basic Economics. Yes I said, basic econ. I'm weird. #bfc530
@teresagross625 got me into suspense stories a couple of years ago and not I love them. But, lately, I have also been enjoying historical fiction #bfc530
Good morning! Still coming off last night's NyQuil coma, but I'm here! I've been on a quest to find YA books for my classroom. But may I recommend the book "Sold" by Patricia McCormack - not for my grade level (HS okay), but eye opening. About sex trafficking in Asia. #bfc530
I have a couple that I’m currently trying to finish...Douglas MacArthur American Warrior is one of them...Salem Witches is another...nonfiction is my thing...it’s been a while since I’ve read a good novel! #BFC530
Had a phenomenal speaker at a conference recommend The Alchemist, so I ordered it... Father-in-law got me Art of the Pilgrimage (I'm a avid taveler) #bfc530
I also have the Great Alone which I haven’t read yet. Usually I just go to the library and get whatever is available. Summer is a great time for the quick 1 week books! #bfc530
I always recommend teachers to read They Call Me Coach; John Wooden tells stories that reveals his approach to getting the best out of his players. He was more of a teacher than a coach #bfc530

Getting ready to start Little Fires Everywhere! I’m excited to read it! I also want to read Zora Neale Hurston’s new book, Barracoon, and Truevine by Beth Macy. Looking forward to getting more ideas! #bfc530
I read one play a week, every week during the year.
In the summer, I add a long classic: last year BROTHERS KARAMAZOV. Tis year: TOM JONES.
I then round it out with some popular fiction.
#bfc530
One summer I will tackle John Adams by McCullough. It sits impressively in my library, never sharing the secret to people who see it that I have never read it. #bfc530
I have a bunch of kids books to read as well. Outside of my read alouds, nothing influences my readers more than knowing I have read many of the books and can recommend them! #bfc530
My daughter read it this year in 5th grade which then inspired her third grade brother to read it. We all went to see the movie together. #bfc530#wonder

My 2nd grader is two books away from finishing the Mallory series, so it will be interesting to see where she goes next. My Pre-K is currently reading the Bob books. #bfc530
Would love to finish the Outlander series 🏴 . On book #5. Or maybe take a break to read some other new 📚 from my shelf that have been waiting patiently .

Such an important human rights topic to read and talk about. It’s so sad how poverty and a lack of access to resources effects a society and our world. #bfc530
Yeah that happens.
I had an uncle who was captured by the Nazis somewhere in the Balkans, sent to a POW camp and then picked out to be a slave servant for a Nazi general. he had stories. #bfc530
I love the mix of fiction and non-fiction. I feel I learn from both - even a silly middle grade book has lessons that teach us something (as they should!). #bfc530
I have developed into a non-fiction reader. I have the Hamilton biography, then Homo Deus by YN Harari on tap for poolside this summer! Plus some PD books. #bfc530
Through @NetGalley I also read Emily Griffin’s latest #AllWeeverwanted It was fantastic; sort of like a Jodi Picoult book, but not quite as intense. #bfc530

The Old Man and the Sea sets the tone for summer...every summer.
I've recently rediscovered the joy of unplugging and reading an actual book. Although paper is highly flammable...it's worth the risk.
#bfc530
When he came back he became a butler for one of the richest men in this country... for a long time he saw himself as a lesser man, it really broke him. #bfc530
For my summer reading: American Street by @ibizoboi Goodbye Days by @jeffzentner and Only Human by Sylvain Neuvel (which is the last book in a the first sci-fi trilogy to ever capture my imagination!) #bfc530

Have a great day everyone. Today is the last day of testing for this week & then we start up again next week. Honestly, preparing students for standardized tests is the main reason I became a teacher. Yeah, I dont believe that last sentence either. Im Out! #bfc530
Another uncle was somewhere in Russia when the war ended and took 2 1/2 years to walk back home
Then there was the uncle who was not allowed to come to Australia as he was a communist so he went to the US. Irony really.
I had lots of uncles. some just farmed and led normal lives

It’s a good question. I know it was locked away in a library for years and years and only accessible to academics. I also know publishers refused it because she wouldn’t change the language, but I’m not sure where the money goes. #bfc530
I’m more a non-fiction reader too! Books on Cosmology by authors such as Prof.Paul Davies or the late Prof.Stephen Hawking are favourites. Travel Guides by the Lonely Planet also an interest. Love learning about the world!
#bfc530
Thanks to you both! I learned so much. Looking forward to having a minute to sit down and write about what I saw and learned and the universality of children and families around the world. #bfc530
It was always interesting as a kid as my grandfather fought the war in battles we didn't even know existed. Like the Siege of Trieste #bfc530
We need to teach kids much more history

Yeah, it's what @laurawheelers said. I used to read a lot, now I can't focus.... must be the social networks made me this way. I need to get to rehab. #bfc530

Agreed. I would bring in my grandfather’s story from when he was in the Pacific to truly bring the personal experience to a massive war. I also had a relative who was a spy for Washington in the revolutionary war. Crazy! #bfc530

I did 10 days of social media cold turkey over Spring Break. Incredibly liberating and really opened my eyes to habits when I returned to it. Give it a shot. #bfc530

Good morning all. I have a Pintrest board of books that look interesting. I will read just about anything. I really enjoy Sandra Dallas. She writes historical fiction, my favorite of hers is True Sisters. #BFC530
