The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.
Let’s treat this Twitter chat like a party! Mingle with the other partytweeters and let the conversation flow naturally. That means no Q & R format tonight, folks! #INeLearn#eLeadNWI

My name is Chris Young. I do tech in New Pal. I interested a party button into my presentation at the Google Summit. I like to party in my PD! #INeLearn

Q1 Most unique that I have heard of, but not seen, is Personalized PD. 2 topics led by 2 presenters and the option to work independently or in a group on something of own interest. #INeLearn
I stand by the most successful PD I've seen revolved around student engagement w/ @CYoungEdTech Passionate educator, sharing the passion w/ others. #inelearn#eLeadNWI
Last summer @KStephens81 and I had two sessions on DOK and the 4Cs. It was apparently good enough for most of the people who attended the first one to also attend the second one. #INeLearn#eLeadNWI
I planned an Amazing Race pd event once. It was for our online teachers when they got together f2f (once a year). It was fun to do something a little different and high energy. #INeLearn
The most successful PD I've seen involved a presenter challenging teachers to use simple tools to shift their classroom. It was a small enough group for questions, ideas and feedback. #inelearn
I've had the most success with 'on-demand' PD. Built around staff needs, teachers seek out their improvement areas and work through content I've provided at their own pace. #INeLearn
I've started a virtual PD site where I am outlining strategies and tools through @useloom. Also I hold a monthly live stream through Google Meet where teachers come and go throughout the day. Same session every 15/20 minute blocks. #INeLearn
PD with breakout or workshop time helps the new tool be put into practice with support -- Ts are more likely to keep that momentum going back in the classroom #INeLearn
Sometimes I think the best PD doesn’t have an agenda and you come out of it with a “wow” moment because it is customized for YOU or the group #INeLearn
Featuring building admin has been really powerful this month. I love working behind the scenes to support. Like a wedding planner! (New theme?) #INeLearn
R2: My favorite PD is led by or at least design by/with students! It is so poweful to hear from their perspective about what they need in the classroom. #INeLearn
R2 - Love to get others involved. Teachers love hearing from their peers. At the end of the day that collaborative bond is extremely important. Bonus points if admin leads a session! #inelearn
Seems like it. But I get to co-host What's up (with Tech) Wednesday with a fab science teacher @mrsmuellerCHS and awesome media specialist @NotAnotherLib. I always prefer co-hosting! #INeLearn

R2: We have fostered the development of 2 leadership cadres. These 40 or so individuals have all led PD sessions within our district. #RCSNextGen#RCSeLesrn#weRRichmond#INeLearn
Just today we had some teacher-leaders requesting more peer-PD. My goal is to build a format for featuring teachers and their favorite tools and strategies #INeLearn
R2: The best hosts are ones who the staff respects and admires. Someone with relationship building skills and who can make others feel comfortable. #INeLearn
I think when I get MY questions answered by the presenter of content, I feel it is valuable. The person presenting has to be super confident in the content to pull this off. #INeLearn
After a Google Summit in 2016 @KStephens81 and I got a handful of teachers who attended to join in the presenting during our summer PD. We need ways to keep the interest up throughout the year. #INeLearn

This is going to go against the grain, but the most meaningful PD of my entire teaching career was two yrs long: Teacher Leadership Academy through CIESC. Cadres from several districts, 8-9 from our district, all levels. Cindy Stergar was amazing #INeLearn
To celebrate spring, we want to see student technology use! Post photos of your students using apps, and don't forget #connectingthe4cs. @MSDNorthPoseyCo and @msdofmtvernon earn a jean pass for every week of participation! Yes, that means you could earn 4 days of wearing jeans!
I did something similar when coaching-it was the network. I created 2-minute videos featuring Ts strategies for as many as I could, but peers could look for expertise using a spreadsheet #INeLearn
R2: Next week I’m planning a tech breakout PD where our students will be leading the session. I’m so excited! The kids are really excited to show their skills as well! #INeLearn
I love using the Q&A feature I present mode for Google Slides. Makes it so easy to intentionally interact and answer specific questions throughout a presentation and not just at the end. #inelearn

A2: and seriously, if you’ve never been to a PD session led by @MrsKBradford, you are missing out! Talk about some serious energy! #inelearn#WeAreFiveStar
@AinsworthLarry is one of the best PD guys that I’ve worked with. He has fun, jokes, smiles, isn’t a “know it all”, and is learning while we are. If you haven’t been to one of his presentations, you are missing out. #INeLearn
I can’t wait to spend a few weeks this summer listening to a great deal of new presenters at Summer of eLearning events! I got so much from #eVillageNWI last year! #INeLearn

Through the bootcamp I did this summer. 3 days of straight Google! 47 out of 50 who signed up. I can't say it was perfect, but was very effective! #INeLearn
A2: and seriously, if you’ve never been to a PD session led by @MrsKBradford, you are missing out! Talk about some serious energy! #inelearn#WeAreFiveStar
The classroom next door or down the hall is my best place to find PD. I used to go into my band or choir room to look at classroom management. #ToLegit#INeLearn
R3: Somewhere comfortable, that allows for true collaboration and inspiration. When we design PD, it should be in atmospheres that look like the learning environments that we want our Ts to create for Ss. We have to MODEL and be explicit. #INeLearn
I'm going to go with our live stream PD at our Innovation Studio. Love that place. Allows me to use the greenscreen & interactive touch panel. It's my ground zero for all things PD at SCS. #INeLearn
R3: Anywhere where people can be comfortable, collaborate, and move! Nothing is worse than sitting in the same spot for what seems like forever! #INeLearn
Sometimes PJ PD is awesome, but a F2F collaborative, flexible, tech-rich, coffee refills (Hey... I can dream here, right?) location seems ideal for intensive PD sessions #INeLearn
Our amazing principal @rcpsprincipal let us choose our own PD books for professional growth this semester. Your statement is so important and sometimes we forget to see what Ts want/need!
I prefer to be in an atmosphere where we can hear from actual students about the idea. It's also nice if we can see good modeling of the idea. I lead mostly on STEAM topics like 3D printing, so it's nice to be surrounded by the equipment we use. #inelearn
R3: I love learning online (Twitter, yo!) but you can’t beat face to face interactions. Can’t wait for #ISTE18 & so many #INeLearn summer of ELearning conferences!
PD in my pjs is amazing (who can turn down online PD?!) but I’m game for anywhere! However, I’m also SUPER excited my #DonorsChoose project to the @ronclarkacademy was funded! Dreams do come true! #inelearn#eLeadNWI
We've talked about bringing this model to our AppleMania conference. Allow discipline areas to meet and collaborate, providing them their own space at the conference! #INeLearn

R3: We have really focused on providing a blended approach. Saves on travel, honors people time & allows for flexibility to meet the needs of those utilizing the PD. #INeLearn#RCSeMadness was all online, but individuals & small groups could get individualized follow up as needed
I guess the theme in all the responses so far is that anyone can be the star of the PD, the PD can be found pretty much anywhere, it's just a matter of seeking it out and wanting it. #INeLearn
R3: the best PD atmosphere is relaxed & not rushed... teachers have time to explore, try, & learn without feeling rushed to get back to their classroom. (& food always helps too!) #INeLearn
#PLCs are a really great opportunity for PD where we just share ideas. Hallway talk during passing periods. And sometimes I just watch interactions of my Ss in my classroom. If you are really observant in the classroom while Ss work, it’s awesome learning #INeLearn
We did one at Tinman last school year. Pick a local place and invite colleagues. Then jump on the hashtag and take part in the larger chat. It's brilliant #INeLearn
OK this is a really outside the box idea, but what if you had a PD where you had no idea what the content was and YOU have to somehow do the presentation of the material like “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?” Just a thought that could be fun #INeLearn
R4 When you have a facilitator they respect and trust, or a topic they see a need for they'll show up! (Bonus if it is BOTH!) Also, when the school culture supports and encourages professional growth - that can make a huge difference #INeLearn

@CYoungEdTech has a cool classroom idea around something similar with presentations. Doing it at @iceindiana this year I think. You guys should chat! #inelearn

Yes! My schools LOVE @PyxisEdu! If you are interested in learning more about this awesome tool for personalized, PD, anytime/anywhere....let me know! I'de be happy to show it to you and get you setup with a free trial! :-) #wearefivestar#INeLearn

Sometimes it's the guest list (love to see the friends), sometimes it's the destination, sometimes the topic, sometimes even the party favors! #INeLearn
A5: I love the idea of Ts inviting others to their room to showcase and get feedback. Things like Pineapple Charts or using #ObserveMe signs outside their rooms! #INeLearn
R5: continue the learning with making sure others know where to find more resources on their own (like @PyxisEdu, @google training center, & key twitter peeps!) Also, be available for questions & follow up! #INeLearn

Also, for anyone who isn't sure what we're talking about, check out @The411Vodcast . It's a vodcast that doesn't shill for tools. Honest assessment. No holds barred. #wrestlingreference#INeLearn
I want to spend next year focusing on ways to connect with buildings better even though I work throughout the district. This will help me brainstorm PD that will do that! #INeLearn
