A1: I have a peace corner in my room I#to help Ss regulate when they’re upset. Along with “you need know” cards that students can use and I’ll read later so communication is open. #wyoedchat#ksedchat
A1. I work hard to build relationships with Ss so they know they have someone they can talk to. We also do zones of regulation so they know it's okay to have different emotions and how to best regulate and handle them. #wyoedchat

A2. For preventative strategies, we make sure Ss know the best ways to handle situations and give them tools for regulating. I think having Peace Corners is also important so they have a place to go calm down. #wyoedchat
a2) #wyoedchat Relationships is key here. But I still struggle with how to help those whose MH is so fragile that relationships don't help when crisis stage arises.
A3. We work a lot on that bullying is something that doesn't stop after being told to or something that is hurting someone else. We work a lot on how to handle conflict and the steps involved so it doesn't escalate. #wyoedchat

A3 - There's a very specific line that we, as a learning community, need to hold when defining bullying
I've seen many instances of social conflict in JHS that don't cross that defined line but we're always watchful

A4 - I've found that staring the conversation with parents on a positive note, early in the year helps to establish rapport for future conversations
