So I forgot to share that I'm an edu consultant from So Cal who is also the founder of #ntchat AND running for School Board in my town of East Whittier! #CreateEDU
A1: Being connected means that no matter what I am doing, or where I am I have an amazing group of folks to support, inspire and motivate me :) I in turn can provide the same when my PLF (family ;)) needs it as well! #CreateEDU#connectededucator
A1: It’s hard to think about professional learning without involving collaboration with peers, mentors and proteges. Accordingly, learning within PLNs (like what we’re doing right now) is basically everything. #CreateEdu
It’s almost like a dial-tone, always on feel. Having this PLN at our fingertips - which began a decade ago as a novelty - is increasingly becoming an expectation. #CreateEdu
Q1: Having a strong PLN / PLF (family) also means that I am able to stay in tune w what others in education are doing both locally AND globally! I'm constantly learning new things from those I'm connected with and sharing! Be sure to follow all involved in this chat! #CreateEDU
A1: So friends in early 2009 I had NO idea what a PLN was. I got CONNECTED because I answered a question, via Twitter that @ShellTerrell was asking. We are now very good friends. The rest is history! #CreateEDU

A1: My PLN is like a lifeline! My tribe! Those who understand and accept me! I can turn to them for advice, ideas, comfort, and support! #CreateEDU They’re online and offline!!
A1: PLN defined: Safe space of trusted individuals for shared experience and learning. My #PLN are my people—where I can be curious, transparent, and active in my search for knowledge and growth. #CreateEdu

In a PLN, personally to me,it is a connection with another person with the specific intent that some type of learning will occur with regards to that connection.#CreateEdu
Even better, their our bands, projects, super-groups. Like Steve Winwood, there’s some Spencer Davis, Traffic, and Blind Faith to choose from. #CreateEDU
Connect with professionals outside of your daily experience and learning from various online resources every day. I learn a lot of from students as well! #CreateEDU
A2: I first used #edchat as my resource to learn from others about Twitter, PLN's to meet folks. It was a great start for me. I think just lurking on a chat of interest can be SO life changing. #CreateEDU
A2: What we are doing now - Twitter Chats - is a very good start. This is like Town Square. Then you can discover smaller boutiques via @voxer, video platforms, etc. Conferences as well, but always bridge relationships developed at conferences w/ your online PLN

And you look at cats like Neil Young who thrive with with playing and collaborating with different musicians they push him to newer heights. #CreateEDU

A3: Your pln can #inspire you when you're in a rut, #motivate you to try new things and provide #encouragement when you're going through tough times. They are also a great place to share #success and will #celebrate with you! They are your #tribe and "get it" #CreateEDU
A3: We all find ourselves continually responding to, evolving with and directing the circumstances around us. We can’t do that effectively w/out PLNs at this point. No one person has all the answers. Answers require community and context. #CreateEDU
A1 #CreateEDU Being part of a global online education think tank: twitter, Facebook groups, edchats. Learn from inspiring, positive educators keeps me going.
Neil even is trying to pioneer music transmission and delivery with Pono (#StillAWorkInProgress). So, it’s not just about the content, but through PLNs and constant collaboration we can produce creation tools that produce the content. #CreateEDU
A2: We should have a celebration for those people who got us on twitter... we all have that person! they pushed us past our hesitancy AND more importantly showed us how to start making those EDU connections, and using twitter for the value it can offer! #CreateEDU@teachwithsoul

A3: My #PLN is actually a few different groups to me. Almost like a Venn diagram! All overlapping—parts operating independently and parts operating as one. #CreateEDU
A3 - My #PLN helps me from how they model prepare/facilitate presentations, coaching others, and just straight up cheer on my endeavors! Thanks, folks! #CreateEDU
A3: No kidding when I say that my work as an EDU consultant was launched because of my Twitter PLN. It's led me to national and international connections & work I never had as a school principal. #CreateEDU

A4: To reassure you that you are not alone! Teaching can be a very solitary profession even though you’re surrounded by people! Connect and begin to realize that there are others who think like you! #CreateEdu
A4: The biggest reason an educator should have PLNs is to cultivate curiosity. We all know our practice is changing as a result of new media and digital tools. PLNs help explain how to creatively incorporate these tools when teaching (and learning). #CreateEDU
