A3- I feel this Is where I struggle. I know where kids are and where they need to be, but even in PK, I think I could make it easy enough for them to understand and make goals for themselves. Helps them take ownership! #txed
Our teachers have goals/data binders for kids. They need to see where they are and where they need to be. They are great tools for teachers to know how to best support each child. Being specific and intentional gets you bigger a bang for your instructional buck. #txed#WestAveEs
A1. Scheduling one on one sessions throughout the week before school, conference period, lunch, after school. Zoom meetings, notes within journals, or emails are other options. #edfb4338#TxEd

Visuals. Give them models of what they need to achieve. Everyone can see what their work is supposed to look like. Even for the littles. #txed#WestAveEs
A3: Goal setting is so important!! I use a @JSerravallo stategy for reading goal bookmarks - and I also use it for writing goals for my students. It takes time, but it so important - and it’s so encouraging for Ss to keep track of all the goals they’ve accomplished! #TXed
#txed A3 Goals are huge! Helping kids set goals as a child is a huge step to them finding their life purpose. #AlwaysBelieve To help my Ss do this I print out posters like these that encircle my room.
A3: we’re keeping our i-binder as data binders this year for every student. Tests and important pages are kept in there. We use it to reflect on how we are growing in skills and overall in math. So far so good 😬 #txed
A1: We give feedback every single day. Oral and written. We have built a community who strives on building each other up. My class this year has embraced growth mindset and they are working hard every day to be stronger for themselves. #proudteacher#TXED

A2. It says we must have high expectations for our students no matter what their economic status is. If the students see that we have high faith and genuinely want to help them succeed, then they’ll believe it for themselves. #edfb4338#TxEd
Q2: Teachers' estimations about their students' achievement had the 3rd largest effect on student achievement (1.29 effect size). What does this say about the importance of our beliefs about what our students can and cannot do? #TXED

Set the highest of high expectations. Expect more from your students than you every believe possible. They will rise up and meet those expectations. Kids are fearless and they want to succeed. I believe in them, and in return, they believe in themselves. #TXED

A3. Each student is different so I want to make sure that I take the time to see what goals my individual students want to achieve then we can collaborate on a set of goals for the semester or school year. #edfb#TxEd
Setting individual goals and classroom goals is so important. Data binders and checking in frequently help students see where they are at and where they need/want to be. We set goals together at the beginning of the week, the start of each day, and reflect on them all! #TXED

A5- formative assessment allows for real time support and intervention rather than waiting to fail and having so much to help a student learn and simultaneously stay on track with Reg class #TXed
A5 early intervention, why wait If you already know they’re struggling? Find the gap, scaffold to fill it. Kids can make HUGE gains if we give the right interventions. If they don’t make progress thru targeted interventions, it’s time to look further. #txed
A5-It is possible but challenging when you have standards a mile long and can only go an inch thick into them. But it is possible to help our students miss rentention. #TXed
To get the goal setting process started for my Kinder Ss, I draw pictures on post-it notes that represent a couple different goals kinder Ss could work on. Ss come to my desk 1 at a time to choose a goal they want to work on and place it on a "bookmark" to remember/discuss. #txed
A5: I think having those conversations about what the possible outcomes for the future are vital.
Be upfront yet supportive.
#proactivenotreactive#TXed

@TXEDMod A5: Be their person. Help them fight their hurdles. Show them you care enough to help them through their struggles. Never give up on them! #TXED
A5-lots of parent communication, differentiated instruction, filling in gaps, getting with colleagues to ask how they teach a concept Ss may be continuing to struggle in, #txed

See the price under the bottle? $964 Disgusting! @SalixPharma you should be ashamed! This is WITH my insurance! I need this prescription and am disgusted with the pharmaceutical industry taking advantage of this hard working teacher. It’s medication I must have.
