Gm ! Josh lead learner - NJ. Missing my PLN b/c I've been leaving early 2 handle end of yr requirements. 8th grade graduation 2day.
Good morning! Last day of school in Virginia Beach. Happy and sad!
2 more days with students, the 3 PD days before 2 week winter break
Looking at FOSS science today. What comes around goes around. Used these kits about 15 years ago.
Thanks, yes sorry so tied up last days of school will reach out later https://t.co/qhe2WSHnwc
Really liked this post my friend. Don't forget to let me know what we need to tell about baseball tickets:)
Good morning friends! Last day in Chesterfield as well. Saying good bye to my 5th class of 8th graders! Always bittersweet!
Good morning, ! Chantell from IN. How are you all today?
Good morning .
Brian, HS principal from Mass.
Know school is over 4 most. My Ss have 2 more days. Ts have 3 more days. Leaving in 7 more days for . Feeling priceless!
Good morning from Lancaster, PA
Your school's culture and tech-aptitude level will guide you how to roll out any digital initiative.
Good morning! Happy to be here on a Friday before vacation :)
Regardless of which LMS you use, districts need as much Ts input as possible.
good! lurking alot - so much to do, so little time (as usual, yes?)
Cost is important, but pick 1, allow time to learn/develop, then stick with it!
4 LMS choice vet w needs and LMS capability choose vendor w growth capacity; 4 roll out train-listen 2 Ts - train; & brand
Good Morning. My first time on this chat. I'm a CS Tt transitioning to a District Tech Integrator position
Yes I did. Glad to have u on the team!
Welcome! this is a great group!
If goal is for all Ts to adopt LMS, the key to rollout is training. Train often, differentiate! Ts nor Ss will learn overnight!
Teaching input, frequent monitoring for fidelity, trainings and coaching for support.
I know this feeling, David. There's another group in the wings ready to take their place! https://t.co/a3oRnzRBOS
Good morning friends! Last day in Chesterfield as well. Saying good bye to my 5th class of 8th graders! Always bittersweet!
so lucky to have you share your positivity each morning Chris!
I also think that the age levels of Ss need to be considered. What works for HS doesn't always work for elementary
This drives me crazy! Let us work w/it 4 more than 9 mos. before we are on to something else
For LMS choice, teachers & Ss need to know its going to be consistent. Don't jump on every new thing that comes along.
Yes! https://t.co/ImoS8H0vuS

An LMS needs to have an easy to learn interface for Tt and SS. Both should concentrate on the material, not posting and access
Choosing & rolling out an LMS should be driven by identified needs and interests of teachers, students and admin.
and make sure it is productive..not just something added in.
Good morning, ! Cathy from NJ, Grade 8 ELA. We began a Chromebook pilot in my dist. this yr (not 1:1 yet but headed there).
Good morning! A beautiful day in NH. Does my classroom really need to be cleaned?
Naw..leave for September lol
Thank you. Always better together! 😊
I know. And I look forward to seeing them come back & share their HS experiences w/us
I'm thinking, not really !! https://t.co/6g3O8hoyp1

Along with PD, give teachers a forum to share what they've learned and how they're using the LMS.
"one size fits all" rarely works in clothing & sure doesn't work in education
I am so excited that my district is actually paying me to look at science curriculum. Usually done on my own
Have a great Friday. An earlier Happy Father's Day to all dads out there -- and those who are paternal in their care of children.
Last day of school here ... My twins will officially be juniors today 😱
Oh my, the all important junior year. Hardest year for both my girls.
loving the order of that list...
exactly, can't expect everything to fit all Accommodations!!!
Yes, a forum for identified LMS collaboration encourages buy-in and builds inter-school skills and experience
There should b time to work w/the LMS and then gather feedback, make adjustments
As you reflect upon the school year gone by, enjoy a much-deserved break & then plan for a new school year... https://t.co/tOKvIxY502
Both of mine too. But they survived!
I think getting teacher input is important. I also think that solid training for Ts can't be overlooked.
They do survive..Parents? It is rough on us too. lol
So true! https://t.co/9esK5BNakS
For LMS choice, teachers & Ss need to know its going to be consistent. Don't jump on every new thing that comes along.
Agreed! https://t.co/xGEYNZyDuE
I also think that the age levels of Ss need to be considered. What works for HS doesn't always work for elementary
Yes! That is where we usually fall some.
not for our kids and not for us Ts - and yet that can be so difficult for outer rings to understand
We differentiate for students. Teachers deserve the same consideration! https://t.co/7rT6Ww9AXM
If goal is for all Ts to adopt LMS, the key to rollout is training. Train often, differentiate! Ts nor Ss will learn overnight!
Absolutely...But we survive too!
The training has to be thorough. What might be "intuitive" to some might be like learning a foreign language to others.
what a year of growth, challenge, discovery - there will be some discomfort along the way
Buckle up and hold on tight. You'll blink and it will be graduation day. https://t.co/9NhqORturT
Last day of school here ... My twins will officially be juniors today 😱
Good morning and I hope you enjoy ISTE! I will be learning with you from a distance!
Have a great day everyone!
When is the last day for? Anyone know?
Thanks everyone. R we still having through June? Any word? Make it an awesome day!!!
Time to get moving. Lots of cleaning, grading, and closing up shop today! Good luck on your last day everyone!
Absolutely! https://t.co/ETrxNby8fJ
This drives me crazy! Let us work w/it 4 more than 9 mos. before we are on to something else
Agreed! Those who are required to work closely with the LMS can often receive limited implementation support.
My greatest Father's Day gift is having my daughters home with my wife and Me...one home from Uganda & the other here from Toronto.
Just did a session on Voxer with yesterday. Am committed to being on it more!
I didn't know you had twins! 👭 👬
Nikki Taylor the supermodel just followed me. She must be dazzled by my tweets. (Or my beauty secrets)...
That's awesome! Enjoy your time with them!
This is a great way to start the day and get real questions answered by great educators. Spread the word. https://t.co/7YlSo4k9vz

Good hope to see you there ☺ https://t.co/0UJhH8aB8h

Thank you PLN for giving me wings! I've experienced more learning outside my classroom&school walls than ever!
School districts need to allow Ts more freedom to use them even if the district hasn't adopted one.
Ts need to explore how it would work in their class through experiences.
by first asking teachers what LMS they have used before and then asking about their experiences.
I would even say districts should explore tech savvy chats like and to see what those teachers say.
Get a diverse group together. Talk about what you want in an LMS. Make an informed decision. Train, train, and train some more.
I wonder is it possible for districts to have two LMS or three? How much does licensing run?
Find an LMS that first matches learning needs of Ss, integrates with district systems and is priced right! https://t.co/qKme1VYBaN
a clear sense of what you want to achieve, functionality, technical considerations, support services, cost, tracking,
Who will use the LMS? Ppl w/diff't levels of experience & tech savvy should test drive, add to feedback loop for decision makers.
software that is used for e-learning.
Start w a vision and a plan. Craft learning outcomes for Ts, Ss, As AND Ps
They could hold a professional development for the staff members to show them the options, or they could have them to bring ideas.
Looks to me like is effectively crowd-sourcing this LMS article today: https://t.co/M9xRwiMjbh (It features definitions, too.)
It's true though that many decisions are made from the top administrators without consulting those who actually use the system.
Ask Ts and Ss what they want in an LMS. Understand its not a miracle solution. Don't just roll it out with insufficient training.
Find something that appeals to all kinds of learners. Find something that connects parents and students in the learning process
I believe I am in the twitter chat solo. LOL
if you can get past the spam ads for some kind of twitter cards for Steph Curry there are others here. =-)
Lol I thought I was alone lol https://t.co/db3W5KabtI

should be rolled out slowly. Have different segments of school use different ones. Then have a professional development & vote.
In choosing a LMS, Make sure that both students and teachers use it as they are evaluating and comparing.
Yes, definitely makes sense to choose. The rollout is so important. https://t.co/Qlo4hwd9py
should be rolled out slowly. Have different segments of school use different ones. Then have a professional development & vote.
Have plenty of trainings. Send Ts to classes be trainers & let them be available to assist Ts the 1st 2 weeks of rollout
Rollouts of an LMS should be done at the beginning of a school year. Have trainings leading up and during the year to answer Qs
A mistake w/LMS is just depending on external training. An in the clssrm T shld be trained & given freedom to assist at every schl.
LMS is a learning management system. A computer program Ss turn assignments on it Ts assign & give feedback
programs like and just to name a few Learning Managenent systems
So many skills are transferable once one learns tools of a LMS. The training should focus on the why of the tool as well as how.
