At #TCT18 yesterday we said if the kid NEEDS A PENCIL...not if he left it in the Mercedes Benz! And we didn’t say the teacher needs to empty his/her bank account! Call the principal! Call me! I will ship pencils to your school! Stop majoring in the MINOR! This kid needs you NOW!
And if you are complaining about giving this kid a pencil because you want to teach him/her responsibility...you need a new job! She does more than some adults! At #TCT18 we discussed how we need more empathy, caring and kindness in our profession! Some of these tweets...Geez!

I had an AP who ate w/ us in faculty room (as they should). All through lunch he'd text a small group of teachers. He & this elite group would stare @ phones, type & snicker. He was truly toxic. Now he's always in my feed for presos & chats about school culture #TCT18
