A1 Biggest challenge is students thinking year is over, when I think we have more time to grow our brains

Hi! ! You're the best too!! We love our Ts!

So true! Even Ts can fall into this mindset, but this is the best time of year for experimenting with new ideas!

Katie Kayastha from Chicago. Middle school math interventionist.

Hi! I'm Dana. Former HS math teacher and now Product Manager .

Q2: Why is it important for Ts to take advantage of the post-testing time to experiment with new ideas, lessons, & activities?

A1: Not being "done is a contagious attitude. Have to keep things fresh and engaging while taking "stress free risks!

Thanks for joining Katie! I appreciate you so much!

A1: we try to combat the lack of focus with a unit the Ss know is important and fill it with high energy activities.

A2: it is the perfect time for us to let them be our Guinea pigs. The new stuff keeps them motivated and we can experiment

A2 because the focus is on experimenting and new ideas--continue the "we are all learners" mindset

Yes! It's empowering to be able to take creative risks without the stress of falling behind.

Figuring out what works really well during this time allows Ts to hit the ground running with these activities/ideas next year

Hi ! Great comments tonight.

Q2 So empowering for Ss to feel like they are a part of planning for next year. They love to contribute to other Ss learning

A1: keeping students excited about learning https://t.co/Akv1HuEUO0

Q1: What is the biggest challenge that you face during the post-testing/end of the year period?

Time for T to learn and get S feedback about project/task. S and T can explore new ideas to use next year

I agree--it's so imperative to send students off feeling empowered and thirsty for more learning opportunities.

Hello from NJ. :) 6th grade math teacher. Already experimenting and trying out new things post-testing time! :)

Q3: Where do you go to find new teaching ideas, innovative activities, and inspiration?

Yes! When Ss feel vested in the learning process, then they are excited to pass the torch.

So glad you can join us, Annette!

A2: Trying new things is the only way to keep improving your practice, and after testing is a low-stakes time to do it.

A2: I like to walk questions that they can get mostly through, but need a new topic from next yr. then we preview it

A2: I like to build on what we've learned and challenge them by moving forward.
