    A1: In our course we not only address the physical geography but we also examine global issues & current events, we look at history and culture, there is also civics and history too. So much beyond maps which is a small but important part. #sschat

    Absolutely! Slavery took off in the south because the geography was conducive to large plantations of labor intensive crops, whereas the rocky soil & shorter growing seasons in the north were not. While it doesn't explain everything, it's an aspect worth exploring w/Ss #sschat
