The questions will be posted in a both with Q1, Q2, Q3, etc.... when you answer mark it with A followed by the number of the question you are answering! #425chat
A1) we are a 3-4 multiple defense. We base with a 5 and shade to the field and 4i to the boundary. Back end we are playing Sky coverage(quarters) as our base. #425Chat
A1: Mike in a 00 or 10 opposite the back in an over front. The Will is in a loose 50 and the Nickel is an yard inside of 2 to the field. Either a match quarters or a cover 2 #425Chat
A1: 5, 3, 2i, 5. Backers as wide as they can be and still play their run fit. * aligns based on split of #2 (7 yd rule from EMOL). C’s 6-8 Deep. C leverage based on coverage call. FS/WS 8 - 10 Deep inside leverage #2 (Never more than 2 yds off the hash). #425Chat
A2) this is a film question. Based on what they are doing in trips we can check Stress, Solo, or Special. Up front we will play 5,shade,4i or 5,0,5. Also have started playing 4i,0,4i. All based on what we are seeing. #425Chat
A2 42 with sam splitting 3 and 2 safety over 2 and corner on 1 .. depending on teams and route scheme w adjust coverage from man to cover 3 .. or run a combo coverage based on wr/scheme
A2: I like an under front to 3x1 bc it allows the inside LB’s to cheat to trips while still being able to account for their run gap, especially the Mike. We apex 2 and 3 with the nickel, bump the mike to a 50 and play the Will in a 00 or a 10. #425Chat
A1: How we line up depends on what the opponent likes to do. Can set the 3 tech to or away from the Back or to the Field. Generally we will go w/ a 2i but that also depends on what they run and on the ability of the Center. $ will apex #2 & Will LB can apex too if needed
#425chat
A2 cont: I like to man #1, spike the corner and roll the safeties to give us a 1/4, 1/4, 1/2 look. Also gives us 3 underneath defenders to the Tripp’s side. The will would have 2 out or 2 across #425chat
A2) We would kick our Over front away from trips(under to some/don’t confuse kids). Base coverage is based on what they do out of Trips and RB alignment. I think you need at least 3 ways to defend Trips. Solo, Hot, 1/4 1/4 half, Cover 1 would be Base choices. #425chat
A2: will apex the ball and 2 with overhang player and try to maintain box integrity staying 2 high. Going to end up 3 deep somehow just matters where we want a db to steal an underneath zone #bemultiple#lookthesame#425chat
A2: Our base alignment has nothing to do with what the receivers are doing, because we are divorced. But our base coverage is Special Invert, with Solo, Dallas, and Special up our sleeves. #425chat
We used variety but really liked using 42 and cover 0 on the te and running palms/read on 2 wr, allowed us to run stunts and shifts up front to get pressure but being solid on back end w coverages we use in other situations #425chat
A2: Still in 5/3/2i/5 but we always set the 3 away from the trips. WLB still aligns as wide as possible but still has B-Gap. If he can’t get to #3 he makes a “RUB” call to DE. DE cancels B-Gap vs run/Contain rush vs pass. Coverage varies weekly, but install “Solo” first. #425Chat
A2. We will play qtrs coverage to trips and man backside. Will hip LB to help with #3. Play our bs$ 10 yds deep on single side. He has C gap run and looks for #3 away to help with post #425Chat
With trey set if the TE is to the field we will leave the end in a 5. The linebackers will adjust and Mike will be responsible for matching 3 in the pass game which will be the TE. If the TE is getting off too fast we can bump end to a 6 Tech and get hands on TE #425Chat
We play a lot of single high to 2x2. We have CBs read 2s release and if it’s vertical we tell him to split 1&2 with eyes on Qb shoulders to help with the FS on 4 verts

A4) Over front and solo coverage again. A Lil annoying but you defend what they run from that formation. Cover 4 Solo would be the base again. MLB 30 tech and Boundary LB in 30 tech. Line up and play fast! #425chat
A3:
Quads: Under Front. Special vs #1, #2, #3 with FC, FS, *, M & W, Solo vs #4 w/ WS, MEG #1 weak.
Nub Quads: Same as above but “sky” our WS down to TE and have BC play Solo vs #4. Will play 6 Tech vs TE.

A2) I concur, many ways to defend Trips. What your opponent does must determine what coverage you will use b/c each has its strengths & weak's. Calling strength to the single WR helps to get LB closer to the #3 WR but sometimes I'd rather go To or Away from the Back
#425chat
A3: still like an under front to this. Nickel aligns outside shoulder of 3 and mike takes inside shoulder of 4 $ splits 3,4 at depth. Man #1, will carries 2 out or across. Still lgives me a 1/4, 1/4, half look by spiking the corner #425chat
A4. We would change our $ alignment to 3x1 for run support and still play qtrs. FS would be outside shade of TE. Don't see much of this formation. #425Chat
A2:
Front: Away from the Trips
Coverage: FC and FS play palms.
Overhang Mike and Weak safety Read 3
Or Man on 1. Overhang and FS play 2 Read on # 3
#425Chat
A5)
2x2 Tight = Over front and Cover 2 for Base.
3x1 Bunch = Cover 2 as well.
Again you need changeups and it’s based on why they are running that. #425chat
Q4: 6, 3, shade, 5. Strong side DE get hands on TE. S apex #2 and #3, Mike in a 10, Will in a 30. Cover 2 on front side. Weak safety cross key TE, solo back side wr. #425chat
A4: 6, 3, 2i, 5 up front. Backer as wide as possible (coverage dictated by backfield set) but still able to play their run fit. * apex TE/#2. Palms w/ FS/FC vs #1/#2. Solo TE w * (Flat) & WS (Vert). MEG #1 weak.
Concerns: How good is TE? Run/Pass Oriented? OZ Wk? etc. #425Chat
A3 cont: to a nub I would play cover 2 and then I would drop my corner to read 1-2 and play deepest route while $ reads 3-4 & takes deepest. Basically fives us a Cover 6. Need an over front to the TE with out Tite tag to put the DE in 7. CB has D gap #425chat
A6) Defending Ace... Over front and slide the LBs a technique weak. We know our weakness is OZ away from our strength and our players should know that. Coverage is cover 4 again. Safeties crank on down tighter with attached TEs. #425chat
A5: To tight dubs, if we don't think 2-Read will work, we can just go quarters with Pony head-up to outside shoulder of number 2, maintaining outside leverage. To bunch trips, we'd just run our Invert with Pony head-up and jamming the man on the line, sky backside. #425chat
A5:
2x2 Snug: Same Front/Box Rules. */WS down playing outside leverage/force. FS MOF, C’s stack the stack.
3x1 Bunch: Under Front. “Box” in a zone call. * is outside leverage. Box rules for */FC/FS/WLB. “Fiddle” in man call. * mans the point, pattern read #1/#3. #425Chat
A4: I will go 6,3,1,5 with no bump from ILB. Nickel 4x4 off end man (based on WR splits) we will roll a safety and let the Ni play heavy in the run fit with a match cover 3 behind it #425chat
A5: in our league most people are running a pin and pull concept so align the Ni in an outside shade of the point man and tell him to be aggressive. Still play an under to help get #’s to the bunch. $ inside shade of point with a cover 2 corner #425Chat
A6: Offenses want to balance an unbalanced Defense to their advantage and Ace is tough. I like bringing my $ into the box as a LB, bump the LBs, and play a 4-3 w/Qtrs. 3 and 6 tech to Strength (bigger TE side), 2i (must vs Ace) and 7 tech away from Strength.
#425chat
A6: I like 6’s & 2’s. I will move the front and bring a LB or and edge blitzed to account for the extra gap. If a nub side we can bring the corner and slant the front. If we are in our base over we would have a 6,3,1,5 #425Chat
Correct me if I'm wrong but with that look you are down a gap. Probably c or d gap? With playing it even the offense doesnt have an advantage in numbers on either side and playing with 2's inside and moving gives OLines trouble. #425chat
