Ss are so observant now. They look for how they dress, listen for accents. So much fun.

Q4 furniture should be designed to allow and invite flexible grouping, the room should say, " pull up a chair and let's learn"
A6: Tying classroom learning to things Ss are doing in personal lives adds relevance: tech, language, sports, hobbies. games
A6 - We are using NEO(formerly edu2.0) to award badges for transferable skills. Not ideal, but a start.

My Ss engage in Genius Hour every week and sometimes even more! This week we are sharing finished projects through a Gallery Walk.
That's the question I struggle with. How do we have "learning targets" and still make learning as personal as possible.
Agreed! Start early with GH! My 5th graders couldn't figure out what they were passionate about. No one ever asked them😞

Agree. When Ss know we care about them regardless of academics, they're open to inspiration we can provide.
A5: Personalized Learning ensures Ss & Ts get resources, support, knowledge & understanding what, when, &how they need to grow!
We need more opps to observe/discuss/create/reflect on student centered classrooms. They need to be the end all be all.
I see Ss learning in their own time, bridging on what we have learned in the classroom, in a flipped way.
You still provide guidance, but it becomes more focused, yet more open ended, because Ss pick portions to Ecole deeper.

Creative and innovative thinking and ideas and thinking does not come from a device…it comes from a curious mind.
A5 p learning hard to implement but necessary shifting the structure of lessons from delivery of knowledge to PBL makes it possible
We start w/learning targets &create scales for showing mastery(1-4). Form.assess to check before moving on.

We should resist the urge to do for learners what they can do for themselves. Encourage them to BYO_. Make it fit.
