CatholicEdChat is a twitter chat. Topics focus on discussions around educational issues for Catholic Educators and topics beneficial to Catholic Schools. We look forward to continuing to connect Catholic Educators online to discuss education and teaching with faith in our schools. The chat takes place on Saturday mornings. Time 9am EST.

morning #catholicedchat. JD- Geek from Indy. creating some data arrays for grade analysis, prepping a debate topic, and planning out the next step in automating an 1880 house.
We have been in school for 4.5 weeks. Finally getting into a routine and have a grasp on the new schedule. Loving today’s Google Doodle #CatholicEdChat
It’s a tie between morning meeting and independent reading. One day we had a surprise assembly and missed our reading time and I thought I’d have a riot on my hands! 🤓📚💜 #catholicedchat
T2: LA...I believe it’s the church that was on the televangelist show...it was bought by the diocese and transformed into a church...maybe I’m mistaken...probably am... #catholicedchat

I am missing so many nights of chats. The fall is so crazy busy. I need to set some notifications to remember to jump into chats. Those are some of my favorites too. Looking for active chats to share with my teachers. #CatholicEdChat
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is a prominent Roman Catholic basilica and national shrine located in Washington, D.C., United States of America. The shrine is the largest Catholic church in the United States -Wikipedia #CatholicEdChat
I have an alarm on my phone for every Thursday night at 8:45 to remind me of #moedchat. I always remember #CatholicEdChat and I catch the others when I can.
One of the Ss moderates. Format changes each day but usually we start w/ a greeting, check in about feelings (the BIGGEST help to me, bc it lets me know what’s going on internally), & suggest goals/room changes. Great for working on eye contact/listening to peers #CatholicEdChat
i do a lot of light chat surfing, but #catholicedchat is the only one i regularly make (at least before debate season). my social media in general has been decreasing steadily. seeing too much toxicity and rethinking how to build communities #catholicedchat
Shout out to my friends at #NebEdChat who had a Constitution Trivia at their most recent chat and gave me the idea for a Trivia Chat for us. #CatholicEdChat
The idea of a small Catholic school provides so many opportunities to truly create “family". My girls are at a small school. Definitely has pros and cons #CatholicEdChat
I’ve spent some time in your country in 2012, 2014 and 2018. I have been writing articles based on the founding documents for https://t.co/GjA5jADHVA#CatholicEdChat
I agree, I keep my Twitter usage strictly professional. It helps me weed out all of the sometimes useless tweets. I have been switching my FB usage to professional groups only too. #CatholicEdChat
Good morning #CatholicEdChat! First time joining in from Providence, RI! Excited to meet great Catholic educators around the country through this and the @NCEATALK Social Media Influencer contest!
im trying to stay engaged, primarily from a #digcit and helping kids come up with strategies standpoint. Also open to the idea that i am only experiencing the bad (joys of school admin). its been a swirling thought for awhile :) #catholicedchat
One goal for us this year is getting our families back to weekend mass. A parent actually said, “well then call the soccer teams and tell them to stop scheduling games”. What do you do to get kids to mass?? #CatholicEdChat
podcasting studio in the makerspace. Two teachers run theirs through the room, the newspaper has a regular feature, and we are starting up one featuring our school jesuits. #catholicedchat
I’ll throw out a question! What’s your favorite way to decompress and relax at the end of the day or on the weekend. (I’ve already shared mine 😊🏕) #CatholicEdChat
As a history teacher I can’t permit myself to Google this, but I’ll admit I don’t know for sure! My guess is B, based on approximate time period. #CatholicEdChat
Special intentions for @MHMARavens & @ksedleader. Sorrowful news as 2 Ss passed away due to a car accident. 2nd funeral is Tue✝️. Prayers 🙏#CatholicEdChat
Hands down our best CSW event is a STREAM fair where all the projects relate back to the UN’s Global Goals. They all try to come up with solutions to clean water, electricity, etc. It’s AMAZING. The intellect and empathy on display is 🔥 #CatholicEdChat
My goal this year! Want to use @StoryCorps recordings as mentor texts and then create and share our own personal narratives via podcast #CatholicEdchat
I’m really excited to see the posts of the NCEA social media Influencer contest...the contest helped me become stronger in my faith and vocation! It’s a great way to promote Catholic education! #CathEdSocial#catholicedchat
To create a bit of fun for the week, I am planning a @Sphero “Battle Bot” tournament. Each HR will have a battles leading up to CSW with winners moving to the final battle during a school assembly. #CatholicEdChat
Success: I teach one 8th English class and tested strategy for making conclusions based on observations and it worked! Goal: as admin, I need to be in classrooms consistently #CatholicEdChat
played the original yoshi with wife and kids for an hour one day this week? build legos. learn how to write offset formulas in excel. On a related note...i was SO popular in high school. #catholicedchat
As we always say. Begin with prayer! Another thing we do at the end of the school day announcements on Friday is ask the whole student body: "What is the most important thing you should do this weekend?" they shout, "go to Mass! "
always finding ways to play...helping a teacher make ted-talk presentations on ethical decision making, using interactive polling with board members to practice brand analysis, and doing some assessment/demographic analytics #catholicedchat
Neat idea! Parents are there for conferences already, so why not have a fair/open house. That’s a prime opportunity for students to show parents their passions in the classroom! #CatholicEdChat
My highlight was getting to sit for an interview for Non Public Teacher of the Year for NJ. It probably won’t happen, but sitting there and *knowing* where my family has come from over the generations and the work they did to get me to this place was overwhelming #catholicedchat
we have both trustee and parent shadow days available. usually a brief presentation or overview and continental breakfast - 1-3 classes (we vary), and then a debrief for those interested - they get to see and we get some feedback. #catholicedchat
Our CYC organization cannot schedule games for Sunday mornings. But so many of our Ss are moving to “select teams”. If we build “community” with the adults that drive the Ss to church we will have more Ss in pews. #CatholicEdChat
it has varying effectiveness....definitely not more than a few periods (which probably says a lot about school structure in general :) ); target classes w teachers so they know and you put best foot forward. give them key "look-fors" as they watch class #catholicedchat
Shadow season big at our school for prospective 8th-graders in the fall. Younger Ss can come in spring. And a big open house in November. #CatholicEdChathttps://t.co/HSmrdmpkXT
