My Design Thinking page https://t.co/dAtPdVOUBt Understand - Observe - Point of View - Ideate - Prototype - Test Design thinking is problem solving and empathy. #21stedchat#edchat
Sometimes labeling something as a specific type of activity causes the students to silo the skill, rather than see all potential applications. #21stedchat
A1 Design thinking will make classrooms more reflective and open ended. Good strategy for same is - visible thinking routines in classroom. This practice help understand the thinking process of the of S’s in classrooms and keeping them close to lesson learning goals. #21stedchat
A4: Can you please use specific examples? How is #designthinking different from any other learning model out there? I know it's hard in 280 characters.... as a newbie, any guidance will be appreciated. #21stedchat
Like a couple weeks ago I gave students the option with what they wanted to learn with #papmincraft as long as they could show me the math for how many blocks they needed #21stedchat
Yeah, that I figured out. I was wondering about a specific example someone has, that implementing such a process helped with 21st century skills everybody's talking about all the time. #21stedchat
A5: Ss have been so institutionalized or play school so well they don't want to think or go outside the box. They don't want to jeopardize their "grade". #21stedchat
lol, that is my go to as well and one time one of my students caught on and he said it back to me when I asked him a question! It was great! #21stedchat

A5 Biggest challenge are the ss who just want to "play school" = teacher teaches, ss turn in worksheets + pass tests. I have to retrain every year. #21stedchat
I am not sure. It is how I roll. People think it is crazy that I decide this as students are getting materials. It shocks most teachers how little planning that I do #21stEdChat
A6. This is a topic that needs to be discussed more so that other teachers can learn and we can grow so that design thinking is a natural process. #21stedchat
Cool! What I'm struggling with, is why use #designthinking when there are many other great learning models that work. Good pedagogy has been on for about a hundred years. What's the diff now? @medialab@mres#21stedchat
