A2 In my current role as consultant, I facilitate PD on rethinking literacy to bring student-centered learning to all classrooms. Change has to happen in small steps with a core group of people dedicated to impacting teaching & learning. #NYEDChat
A2: as a principal I’ve developed a better understanding about change and how it can impact individuals. Sprinkle seeds, water the seeds and get out of the way. Just don’t forget to tend to the garden. #NYEDChat

A2: In my role as a special education teacher and an advocate for progressive educational practices, I feel like I have to be the voice for my students in this movement! This idea of practical outcomes to learning is vital for my students in particular! #nyedchat

A1: At the community college level, we need SO badly to keep the needs & career plans of our Ss in mind. That’s common in K-12, but not in all higher ed. I advocate for my Ss as often as I can! #NYEDChat
A2) year 1 admin. I took a lot of the landscape in. #1 goal build relationships. What was good, what was not so great, what was working, & what could we do to move the needle? its a process that takes time. Build a strong foundation to support future endeavors.

We listed all community weekly and monthly events. Placed them on huge calendars, laid them out across tables in cafeteria. All staff signed up to attend them, rotating. Amazing community involvement where they are! #NYEDchat
