This is @coachfisher_rp and my favorite gift this Christmas is all the books I've received...My Appetite for Destruction, Game Changer, and Dark Places....entertainment and learning #TXHSFBCHAT
We are starting a couple minutes earlier tonight, so make sure you're ready! Please use the hashtag so everybody can see your response, and follow a new coach! #TXHSFBCHAT
Dave Holmgreen Special@Teams Coordinator and LB coach - Buda-Hays High School, Buddy Texas. Favorite gift this year was a custom engraved whistle from my wife and daughter. #TXHSFBCHAT
A1: I'd like to incorporate more of the big picture of what we want accomplished into the teaching of the skill or technique. I would like to see more transfer from drill to film #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: second year in this system. Execution, execution, execution. While the overall look is pretty complex , our rules are very simple. The better we execute CORRECTLY the more dominant we will be. (1/2) #TXHSFBCHAT
Constructive being the key word. When you use correction or praise as a moment of positive instruction, it helps bring home what you want accomplished #TXHSFBCHAT
A1). I’m always evaluating how I coach my individual position group. To me it’s getting better at my craft my making sure my drills or up to date & tie into what we are doing offensively. #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: Leadership, Discipline, Love. We need to promote a championship culture that encourages our kids to lead correctly. Our discipline will continue to become better this offseason as we continue to build in the right direction. #TXHSFBCHAT
A3). 1 of the things that stood out to me in the TXHSFB State Championship Games was all the teams played for each other, their coaches and their community. It was a complete buy in to what the program stood for. #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: We need maturity and leadership exhibited from our players. As the leadership council sponsor, I need to do a better job of helping develop their tools #TXHSFBCHAT
I believe for our team to accomplish the goals we have it will take accountability From coaches to players. we must establish what those goals are then buy into them and keep each other on track in doing what’s needed to get the goals met.

One, focus on my family as much as possible. Two, payer. Three-continue to read, and go to clinics in an effort to learn more. 4-A, honestly evaluate my own performance throughout the season. 4-B pray for more patience in trying times. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: Continue to learn by reading, making visits, going to clinics, study all 3 phases of the game. Invest more time in kids outside of the weight room and practice field. #TXHSFBCHAT
A3)Complete buy in with no excuses. Work on being the best teammates we can be, not the best players we can be. Good players are everywhere, good teammates are becoming harder to find. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4). I’m always looking to get better at my craft. I start with my position group coaching & work my way to my coordinator role. I talk to coaches from all over the country about drills they run & I also talk to coaches who are philosophically in line with what we do. #TXHSFBCHAT

A4: find people who are smarter than me and read. Every coach publishes something because they want to be right. Read enough and there are some truths across the board. #txhsfbchat
A4: I want to expand the methods I choose to learn. Fortunately I've seen an increase in virtual clinics to provide access to more coaches. I'm also a big reader, and I'm looking forward to the books I received! #TXHSFBCHAT
A5) Cont’ I guess starting a cooking and coaching vlog/podcast is out of the box. Should be a fun way to talk ball and meet a lot of great coaches. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4)Watch, Read, Learn everyday. Go to a few clinics, try and find teams using schemes I think we might use and study them. Always try and learn something about motivation and organization. #TXHSFBCHAT
Thank you to every coach for an outstanding 2018! I hope you're looking to a fantastic 2019 and making #TXHSFBCHAT part of your success! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
