#TOSAChat is a chat on Twitter every Monday night at 8pm PST for TOSAs (teachers on special assignment), including all edtech and instructional coaches.

A1: Getting out into more classrooms....stay at the site and work from there rather than race back to office. In May, I made a huge push into classrooms and it was the best! copy/paste for next year! #TOSAchat
Nathan from Visalia, CAI am a tech coach at Central Valley Christian. My favorite place to walk is around our neighborhood. Kids are learning to ride bikes and it is easy to go practice when it’s right out the door! #TOSAchat
A1. Lol if only my partner TOSA @mandi_smithml and I actually had time to sit 😂 We love being in the classrooms with the kids. Helps that we are at one site. #tosachat
A1: Gotta go Snake Blisken and go rogue. Have laptop will travel! Start with no teacher desk. This will get you out of your seat. Make a rule to be as many classrooms as possible each day. #tosachat

A1: leave the tech behind. Talk with a teacher, evaluate their needs together. Not having a device to take notes might force you to pay more attention. Once you're back, sync your mind to the Googles and write your notes down. #tosachat
A1: my goal this year is to get into classrooms. I know I have to first establish trust and build relationships, but I want to be a close resource to Ts! #TOSAchat
My plan next year is to be in teachers classrooms, meetings with different PLCs during their meetings and being sure I have my laptop and Apple Watch with me so I can be reached on the go. #TOSAchat
A1: Answer emails by walking to a classroom and talking directly to the teacher. Build relationships, ditch the desk, and make a difference. Cheesy, but true. #CVTechTalk#TOSAchat

A1: My colleagues and I are thinking we hit one site at a time next year and hit a mass of teachers at once to set a basline. We hope that dedicating ourselves to one site and making our presence know might lead to more Ts asking for help later in the year. #tosachat
Judy Blakeney here...Inst Coach until the end of the week at Capo Unified and love to walk along the beach next to our family cottage in Frankfort, Michigan #tosachat
Yea, its rough. I have another thought that I will try next year, leverage Google Hangouts and Youtube Livestreams as office hours. I will try and become a #VirtualCoach. #tosachat
A2: I think the big part is being noticed. I hope to be around during breaks when I can have a quick chat with a T, maybe ask to come in. I think if you show you are present, you have more opportunities. #TOSAchat
A2: I love to conveniently "forget" my coffee mug in a classroom for a reason to come back. Get to know teachers and connect. I had teachers who loved walking dead so I would go into the classroom and put a post it about the show on their desk. #TOSAchat#CVTechTalk

This was an idea that came from #tosachat .Tea with a Side of Tech. Teachers could come in have some tea and just chat in the library with me. The librarian helped send it out to her staff and I had some great conversations.

A2: Not a TOSA, just a mentor teacher, to 2 teachers. I try to remember things they need— print that thing, read that email, order that book or just surprise them with coffee. Gives me excuses to support them and be in their room. #tosachat
A2: I think offering to plan and co-teach lessens their level of concern & makes many more willing knowing you're right there to troubleshoot #TOSAchat
A2: How about bringing the makings for a two-person salad bar? Teacher can bring their favorites, you do, too. Sharing and salad. Spend only part of the time talking about tech needs. The rest? Personal stuff. Share your life. #tosachat
A3: I trust it built outside of those times in the classroom. When a T knows that you’re pro-them and have their back those visit will be easy and you’ll feel welcomed. #tosachat
A3: I hope to build trust by meeting each teacher where they are at individually and listening to what they want to learn and what they are apprehensive about. I feel if they feel heard and I don’t try to push in, they will trust me and be more likely to open the door. #TOSAchat
A3b: Leave prompt feedback using Google Forms and Formmule. This makes them feel that I am there for purpose and not just for show. This also shows that I will observe and not interrupt. #tosachat
A3: Usually we have some sort of communication about what the T wants Ss to do. They know I am there to help. #nojudgement I don't drop in... I have been in my district for 24 years, so many people know me and my intentions to help. #TOSAchat
A1: I often ask teachers if I can try a lesson I’ve been working on & ask for their feedback. After the lesson, we engage in a lot of convo about ways I can improve & it then starts a culture of working together. #tosachat

A4: Google Forms and Formmule to automate actionable feedback. Google Classroom co-teaching to assist virtually. Screencasting to give video how to responses when emailed about how to do something. #tosachat

A4: My team and I use Google Hangouts as our go to communication tool. We also use Google Keep for our project management. Just started getting into youcanbookme for our calendar invites. #tosachat
A4: Google calendar to remember teacher preps, google keep to ensure don't forget conversations w/teachers, formmule with Google forms for automated feedback, conditional formatting on sheets for quick views of data, being co-teacher on classroom to help troubleshoot. #TOSAChat
A4: While I'm not a walking coach I use all things Google and my digital @planbookedu to keep me organized and planned for working with 6 grade levels #tosachat
A4: I love the predictive responses on gmail! Saves me minutes which turn into hours. Especially when I'm on my phone or smartwatch. #TOSAchat#CVTechTalk
A4: Hangouts/Chat for minor support, the https://t.co/Aa0TCjyENc extension to give options for meetings to reduce number of emails. @Snagit GIF's are a go to for me. #tosachat
A3: intentional listening, supporting learning. I think sometimes you can come off as admin, but by being out and about, I think you can get rid of that stereotype. #TOSAchat
Solid. I wasn't able to get the calendars/settings set-up like I wanted. Hope to get it going next year. Do you provide any brief PD's for T's on the use of Calendars? #tosachat
Automator for batch resizing of images, FormMule for automated messages after people register for workshops, Autocrat for generating PD certificates. I also use MailButler on the Mac & Boomerang for Gmail to schedule my emails. #tosachat

A5: leave tabs open on my computer then talk with Ts when they walk through...saying I was just thinking of them: Trick I learned from @sobocapo#tosachat
A5: I just walk. Walk classrooms. Talk to teachers. View their anchor charts and create something techie that corresponds to what they are teaching. #TOSAchat#CVTechTalk
A5: I have been known to post an "all-call" for classrooms on my facebook page :) other wise I rely on our weekly communication to hopefully snag some classroom time. #TOSAchat
You can definitely do that. Have an automated message linking your slide deck and resources after participants filled out the GForm as the feedback / exit ticket. #tosachat

A5: I want to find the study hall periods. Sometimes Ss will be in library. I would love to excite them about something so that they can in turn share that with Ss and Ts. #Tosachat
We get together and take the certification exams as a team. Google encourages it. As a certified trainer, I assist with people taking the test. #tosachat
A5: I’m a classroom T with a room full of tiny balls of energy, there’s always business going down. I do try to check in w/ the Ts I mentor at recess and my lunch. I also make regular appointments with them after my Ss leave. I try to #worksmart. #tosachat
A6: Ts realizing integrating best practices that happen to be tech aren't that hard to implement. Ss being successful with learning in new ways. Ts knowing I am ALWAYS a click away. #TOSAchat
A6: A walking EDU win recently the off the cuff appsmash of @flipgrid and #sketchnotes I came up with when I walked into Mrs. Jobe's Biology class. The blog post I wrote about what her kids did was my most read ever! Can't wait to smash this again! #tosachat
A6: I had the pleasure of partnering with a 4/5 grade level teacher incorporate @breakoutEDU into a multi-step scavenger hunt on their overnight trip to a beach #tosachat

A6: I can’t always leave bc I have my own Ss, but I have aopen door policy for those I mentor. They’re in my room so much my students call them their “second-teachers”. Not only do those T know they can count on me, but they observe me. My Ss also see my heart for them. #tosachat
A6b: Totally stoked when I heard students bragging about getting their sketchnotes and booksnaps accepted to the Cardinal Innovation Center website and they were from teachers I hadn't worked with directly! #tosachat
A6: Ss making videos using @alicekeeler webcam record on collaborative slides then giving feedback, green screen pics & video using @DoInkTweets@WeVideo, Podcasting, flexible seating in action #TOSACHAT
