Welcome to #IEedchat. Tonight we will be talking about Spring Cleaning and the changes you plan to make by the end of the school year. We will be using the Q1/A1 format.
A0: Chris Lara 8th grade history. It’s a tie between Christmas season and NASCAR season. Good news for me is when the one ends the other begins 👍😎 #IEedchat
A0: Robert Guzman
Tech Coach @CMIPerris in @puhsd
My favorite season is actually fall, thats when I don't have any allergy issues. Cool weather for cool folks #IEedchat
A0: Hi. Tom Ashley here Tech Coach TOSA @PalomaValley in the @puhsd. By far, my favorite time of year is winter, when it is not so darn hot around here. Also, I love the time off of Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. #IEedchat
A0:
Jed Tech TOSA / math geek @HeritageHSPats@puhsd
I openly acknowledge that I have limited experience with seasons; I’m from Southern CA.
If I had to pick...early Fall. #IEedchat
Q1: Spring Cleaning - Taking care of that which has been put off. Which postponed items do you hope to get to before the end of the school year? #IEedchat
#IEedchat A0: Carisa Koch8th grade math teacher in the High Desert. Spring is my fav b/c our weather is amazing. This year spring weather is late coming ;( I’m cold

A1: I'm hoping to get more teachers Google certified and I really hope to polish a great Genius Bar presentation and plan for great summer maker camps. #IEedchat

A2: We need to leave behind classrooms where students are Listening Objects. Students must be the subject of the learning. We need classrooms with empowered students.
#IEedchat
A1: I have a couple of projects I hope to get to such as finishing my Batman blu ray/dvd shrine and my Star Wars shrine. Also I’ve got some books I want to read like my new acquired The Shape Of Water book #IEedchat
A2: my current masters class I’m looking forward to leaving behind. The work load is pretty high. I’d like a little bit of breathing room back #IEedchat
A2: sticking more in the spirit with others’ responses...
Leave behind our of date standards and practices, move forward with current adaptations for all core subjects. #ieedchat
A3:I try to remember what was successful and productive for the Ss otherwise it gets chucked to the trash bin or archived. Gotta keep on moving to make lessons better everyday #IEedchat
A3: I display well organized exemplars of work and pass back or throw away the rest. I have moved a lot of work to digital formats, if there is a digital master I only need one paper master. #IEedchat
A4:
Similar to last question, if you already look forward to an activity, keep the items that will save you worthy amounts of time (w/o costing too much space) for such activities. #IEedchat
A4: whatever worked very well this year gets drafted to next years team and I make annotations for future areas to grow or where I need better/new ideas #IEedchat
A4: Need more markers and color pencils. I’ve tried to incorporate doodle notes more often. In a dream world I would get a class set of quality headphones. #IEedchat
A5: I use my students’ opinions and their reactions. If they are really engaged and loving it I keep it. If they are showing huge signs of dislike I’ll usually trash it that day #IEedchat
A5: All evaluations are based on the fact that if they were engaging and relevant for students to learn the content, if so it's a success. This doesn't mean its a guarantee for next year, since many variables change and not all things can be the same #IEedchat
A5: I have been having my students give me their honest feedback on some of the digital work we have done. Their opinion has really helped me fine tune some things, and delete others. I have an amazing group this year. I really trust their opinions #IEedchat
A4: things that worked, and/or were fun, love to get new goodies and supplies, always will...expos, pencils, try to collect fun junk for making #IEedchat
A5:
Lesson study is a good tool for this. Developing content/course teams in a PLC model also good.
I'm seeing positive results from Lesson study @HeritageHSPats math dept. Lots of aha's and growth in the process. #IEedchat
A5: wish more people would come #observeme and help me out with this one, but I try to reflect myself, like Jed said, I should blog for myself #IEedchat
A6: I want to build a more comprehensive calendar of edtech activities/professional development opportunities and be proactive and less reactive. #IEedchat
A6:
Growing more local lead learners.
This isn't really a change from what I've previously envisioned, just a constant push for growth. Growth = change.
#IEedchat
FT: Don't wait until spring to do cleaning, it should be part of your process. Reflection of what you do is very important in order to be an effective and relevant educator. Remember they want you to be awesome #IEedchat
