A1: Hi I'm Mary!! I'm currently a senior getting my bachelors in Special Ed. I'm excited about student teaching in the Spring!!! Still getting used to twitter so it makes me feel a little... #nt2t
A1: I Started by following the people that share my passion for bilingual education. Then it went on to equity as well as diversity and definitely educators that have a passion for literacy! It just kept growing with amazing people!

Chris from Bloomington, IN. Teach world history for private online HS. Feelings about Twitter are 90% positive but wish they would clean up the hate speech and threats (not often an issue on edutwitter). #nt2t
Welcome to #nt2t and to Twitter, Kristen! We're so glad you're here!! Personal recommendations from a friend is a great place to start connecting to other awesome educators. #Nt2t
Hi, #nt2t team member here! Sorry I’m running a little late today as I just dropped my daughter off for cheerleading practice. I’ll be back on in a few…

A1 Swapping impactful ideas w/others in Twitter chats is usually what leads me to follow. When brain-catching ideas liked or retweeted by someone I'm following then flows by in Tweet stream, that's sometimes worth a follow, too. #nt2T
A2 - OMG! There are so many! I have recently started following authors that my students love @TaranMatharu1@MPHaddix@kwamealexander and begun trying to arrange author chats! #nt2t
You're in luck - because the lists provided here will be great places to start building your #PLN! You can click on their handles to FOLLOW them. #Nt2t
First, I intend to follow any educator who follows me -- when I keep up. Beyond that, if I want to hear what they have to say! It's all about the feed. If they're in a chat, it means they engage and I would enjoy engaging with them. #nt2t A1
Jump right in! We're so glad you're here - I recommend following people participating in this chat as well as the great educators being listed in these people's favorite people to follow lists!! I'm excited for you to be beginning this journey - it's truly a game changer! #Nt2t
A3) Before I joined Twitter, I kept hearing about chats and how edutwitter was so awesome. I think my first chat was #sschat and I was BLOWN AWAY!!! It was seriously awesome. Learned about other chats/#s on Twitter from folks I followed and blog posts. #nt2t

A3: I choose chats that I am interested in and that best fit my schedule. The twitter deck is also really cool and fun to use! Especially when you participate in multiple.

Thanks, Chris!
Yes, I'm Jeremy from Connecticut. For those who don't know me, I've temporarily changed my name with an important message for the U.S. election season. ;) #nt2t

A3: I try and scan through and see if the topic is posted. If it's something that peaks my interest I jump in. I really like to stalk topics that I know nothing about to learn something new. #nt2t
A2 - It helps when you are getting started to follow those that others with your PLC follow. Follow those that support the "image" you are trying to portray and whom you can learn from. #nt2t
Just want to say how awesome it is that some education profs are encouraging pre-service Ts to get active on Twitter. Such a great way to learn and connect with other educators. #nt2t
I 100% agree with you - being connected to a strong PLN from the beginning of your career is a great way to feel supported and encouraged from the start! #Nt2t
A1 I try to follow those who have been recommended to me and people who inspire me by their own tweets and positive energy. I’m really happy with the PLN I am developing! #nt2t
Chat lists can be too overwhelming and not necessarily up to date. I've learned about chats organically. Now my calendar is full of them, and I check the topics every week (and my own schedule) to determine if I'll participate. I can share with anyone what I've gathered. #nt2t A3
A3 - Interested in these responses! I am terrible at this. Flying by the seat of your pants and hoping to run across a chat is not effective. I have a few that I remember weekly but need to do better! #nt2t
Welcome @HHEMrsBriggs - glad you're with us this morning - and totally agree about following those who are inspirational/positive in their Tweets. Not in a sugary way, but in a way that pulls us up rather than down. Love it! #Nt2t
A4) #sschat (Social Studies Chat) happens on Mondays at 7pm Eastern for an hour- full disclosure: I'm on the leadership team for the chat. I also love our state elearning chat which is #INeLearn on Thursdays at 9pm Eastern. #nt2t
A4: I'm still exploring chats to see what I like. I haven't found any favorites yet, but I'd love suggestions. So far I'm really into this one because it looks like a great place to help me build my network. #nt2t
A4: Since this is my first twitter chat I would have to say that #nt2t is by far my favorite. I can’t wait to get more involved with twitter chats and thanks to all of you, I have great places to start. #nt2t
#nt2t#LDchat
Those are the only two I have been involved with really but they were both very interesting and gave good information & questions!
#barbersclass@barbersclass#nt2t
So glad to hear it!! We're glad you're here - if you ever have a question, please feel free to reach out. I may not have the answer, but I will be glad to help you find it!! #nt2t

A4 Good bet there's an edu chat based in or near your state. Chance to bridge virtual & actual networks. I did some exploring nearly two years ago, wrote about it here: https://t.co/5Nc78KsT7l#nt2t

I put chats on my Google Calendar for a good while until they were part of my routine (when kid stuff didn't disrupt things). Needed that reminder. :) #nt2t
Hi! I'm Rebecca and I am a non traditional junior at K-State Global campus! I am elementary ed-English. I am currently in Fort Bragg, NC #nt2t#pstpln#edtechksu
YESSSSS!!! Tweetdeck rocks for participating in chat and just using Twitter effectively in general (for me). I have columns for different topics (hashtags, lists, etc.) so I can check out whatever I'm interested in at a particular moment. #nt2t
A5. I love tweetdeck as I just keep my favorite chats up so I see if anyone has posted and then can remember them all. Also it is nice to see the notifications come up alongside the chat during a chat. #nt2t
I love Tweetdeck as well - it's my favorite way to keep up with chats in real time... and it let's you schedule tweets in advance which is very convenient sometimes! #nt2t
A5: I LOVE using twitter deck during twitter chats. This is because I get to see my news feed, my notifications while having the tweet chat I am participating in up. Its a great way to keep organized & have chats up that you've already been in.
#barbersclass@barbersclass#nt2t
Only way I can is to put them in my calendar. On days like Saturday mornings you start remembering the schedule, but on Tuesday or Thursday nights? Lost without a calendar! #nt2t
A5 - I do not. The way I chat and interact is too involved to have multiple chats going on at once. I enjoy being immersed in the convo/side convos and prefer to have a single chat pulled up directly in Twitter. #nt2t
Wonder how that would work, if we have a keyboard that doesn't easily accommodate other languages... but I suppose those that use them already have it set up... #nt2t

Luckily Outlook calendars let you set up those too. Where it doesn't work is when it's every other week.... then you have to put it in every week. Know of another calendar that accommodates that level of detail? #nt2t
A6: I bumped into 4 amazing educators from my PLN at a local conference about a month ago (@EdCampDallas) - it was truly amazing and left me smiling from ear to ear!! I'm so thankful I got to meet @LScumpieru, @kristi_daws, @Hahne_Elyse, and @Isham_Literacy that morning!! #nt2t
Yes! Mostly at conferences or edcamps. It is THE BEST!!!! I did actually run into @Chucktaft at City Museum in St. Louis on spring which was just a crazy but awesome coincidence. :) #nt2t
I'm looking forward to being at #NCTE18 in a few weeks for the great learning AND to hopefully connect face to face with people in my Twitter #PLN - I can't wait!! #nt2t
Yes, and I'm not even an educator! (in the technical professional sense). I've met others thanks to things like my involvement with @ParentCamp and the @DigCitSummit (hi, #DigCitSummitCA! Hope you're off to a great start today!) #nt2t
A6: I haven't had a lot of educators to follow to actually meet because I am new to this but I think it would be really cool to meet and actually talk to them about education
#barbersclass@barbersclass#nt2t
The great people associated with #mschat! (search for the hashtag and for the people under it). Also for math, #msmathchat. I started a middle school Twitter list... I'll check if I made it public... if not I will. #nt2t
For the longest time I was always on my phone just on the Twitter app for this chat, such as from our daughters' gymnastics class. You get used to it! #nt2t
Yes, but I was a latecomer. Just got used to doing chats over my phone. But once I'd join more than one chat at a time (not to mention moderating a chat), it became essential. #nt2t A5
Great point, Brian! Using conference hashtags are a great way to learn from others who are there with you or who are there when you can't be. You can't attend everything at a conference so it's a great way to expand your learning, find new people to follow, etc. #nt2t
It's wonderful... if you've chatted with them on here, it's like you've known them all along. I've so far met two of my fellow #nt2t moderators in person!: @shyj@hturk139
In reply to
@ACA_KSU, @barbersclass, @shyj, @hturk139
A6: Yes, it was a great experience! Got to see, hear, and learn from then in person. This happened during the WIDA conference. The best part is that they are just as excited to meet and talk to you! #nt2t
