"Welcome to EdTechAfterDark! Our community was born out of discussions for a rich EdChat type gathering for those of us who are thinking about the digital edu-landscape long after the sun has gone down. For us night owls, when the clock strikes 10PM EST, you’ll find us on Twitter over at #edtechafterdark. All are welcome! Our discussions range from our philosophies about EdTech, digital best practices, and simply sharing our stories." --www.edtechafterdark.com

A1: I’m one of those anti-resolution types. I set goals all the time, though. Personal goal—shed a few unwanted pounds. Professional goal—help students to see what I see...#edtechafterdark
A1 Last year my focus was to empower. This year, I need to be a bit selfish and find balance. I can still empower through a new balance. #edtechafterdark
A1 Last year my focus was to empower. This year, I need to be a bit selfish and find balance. I can still empower through a new balance. #edtechafterdark
A2 I kept this thought with me today. Even in the smallest of rooms, with the most doubtful of people..we have the ability to make change. And then, anything is possible. Fired up to keep innovating in 2018. #EdTechAfterDark
A1: #oneword round #2. Last year I chose “gratitude” which I defined as the mindful appreciation of life as you live it. This year’s word is appreciation. I want to build on last year, not just recognize what I’m thankful for but express that thanks more often #edtechafterdark
A2 I’ve been disconnected for the past 3 months, just in a funk and working out the kinks of a new job. I’m fired up and ready to get back to being a voice for education and kids in 2018! #edtechafterdark
A2: The person on the limb, walking out where others are unwilling, risking the most in the name of changing the trajectory of a kid’s life. As an AP, I get to enter into my teachers’ classrooms and see microcosms of this very thing everyday. #EdTechAfterDark
A2: I'm fired up about some changes I plan on making this year, and that it won't be easy BUT to persevere in those moments when self-doubt creep in #EdTechAfterDark
A2: My #LCFamily gets me “Fired Up, Ready to Go!” We have a call and respond: “We are..” “...LC!” and we have a song: cue music...🎶I’m so glad. That I go to LC!🎶. The admin, the Ts, the Ss, the Ps...@LCHS_Patriots get me fired up! 💙💛💙 them all!! #edtechafterdark
#edtechafterdark A2: Last year's word for me was also gratitude, @EastonA1 - This year I'm #firedup and my word is #courage. Courage to SpeakUp and tell my own authentic story. Courage to speak up and believe that my story has value to add to all the others. #pedagome#educolo
A2 I am fired up for impacting my community. Whether that is through teachers, kids, coaching a youth team....we have been here 18 months and it is time to step out a bit. #EdTechAfterDark
A3 - I would love to present at @InnEdCO this year. Still waiting to hear back on submitted proposals. Top my list would also be @COLTTConf , @iste , and oh so many more... #edtechafterdark
A3:
#OETC in February.
Speaking in Maine (June), Montana (Aug) and Colorado (October). Hoping to add some more states to that list and I’m teaching #jonsmithclass 5 times between now and June. #EdTechAfterDark
A3: I haven't even begun to think about this yet...lol! But I would love to present again at the SC Council for SS and maybe even attend NCSS @ISTE and a leadership conference. #edtechafterdark
A2). Awesome video! I'm been working on a STEM/PBL App for two years while teaching STEM full time. Fired Up to launch the app at #FETC and Ready To Go. #edtechafterdark
A3: I can’t say enough good things about @st4tevent in the Clearwater, FL area! @chatzopoulosn organizes incredible sessions and fosters genuine learning and discovery opportunities for all attendees! #EdTechAfterDark
A3: Excited about 2018! Will be attending & presenting @ #TCEA18 & #ISTE18. Will also be attending #Flipgrid Live. Plan to attend #TCCA18 as well. Looking ahead, aiming for FETC in 2019! #edtechafterdark
A2: Recognizing teachers & showcasing stories of their efforts to move the needle & #personalizedlearning for (and eventually with) the Ss we serve. Be they success stories, experiences, and/or key lessons learned, I’m fired up to get better together in 2018. #edtechafterdark
Q4 would love to read more books on inquiry and maybe throw in some fiction books here and there. I’d still recommend James Clavell’s Shogun. My all-time favorite novel. #edtechafterdark
A3: Excited to present at #ISTE18 & hopefully USM Summer Spark. I love sharing, I love learning during the innovative sessions, but I most enjoy the informal get-together and in-person collab time with so many of the PLN Tweeps that inspire me online everyday. #edtechafterdark
A4: If you really wanna think "outside the box," check out Dan Brown's new book "Origin." Sure, it's fiction, but a fun read and entices thought! Questions the Religion vs. Science borders. #EdTechAfterDark
A4. Chilenismos: A Dictionary and Phrasebook for Chilean Spanish / Chilenismos-English / English-Chilenismos. Enhancing my communication outreach for Summer/Winter projects. #edtechafterdark
I'm doing a virtual book club this semester including THUG, This is Where it Ends, Kindness for Weakness, All American Boys all social justice issues. #edtechafterdark

A3 I think it’s ADE world this year and would love to attend that. Buuuut I promised my HoS that I won’t do any trips abroad this year. She needs me full time. #edtechafterdark
A5: I think it is some of the changes & plans I have set in motion for this year. It's good but the idea of stepping out of my comfort zone has me a bit freaked out. #edtechafterdark
A5. Every spring I get a little anxious for my Ss taking the #aphg exam. @CollegeBoard exams are for real, and I never feel like I have fully prepare my Ss! #EdTechAfterDark
A5: Spent the past 6 months developing teacher interviews/testimonials as content for our district’s #personalizedlearning website, & the show notes + video & podcast editing + the linking of all the resources is a time-intensive task. Gotta love the grind #edtechafterdark
A5 I have some anxiety over whether or not I'm making real change. I think I need to get out of my own head - need 2 focus on the small pockets 1st! #EdTechAfterDark
A5: The possibility of nuclear war legitimately has me anxious. I don’t consider myself an alarmist but I’m struggling to see how this ends well for millions of innocent people #EdTechAfterDark
A4. Just stopping by to peak in on your #edtechafterdark chat before crashing. But Q4 is right on time.
Get your laugh in @TiffanyHaddish#LastBlackUnicorn. Wonderful Bio story about young girl bullied in school, in AP classes and couldn’t read, finds her lane in comedy.
#OneWord2018 Is #FINISH ... My urgent list, my projects, etc. #edtechafterdark Adulting win tonight ... putting clothes away while they were still warm. 😂
A6: A former mentor did this and I want to do continue on this legacy. Last year he word was INTENTION. I think PERSEVERE might be my #oneword2018#edtechafterdark
A6: HOPE...I want the things I say and do to reflect my hopes, not my fears...for my career, for my life, for myself, for my children, for my students, for my colleagues...positive, uplifting, encouraging, hopeful. #oneword2018#EdTechAfterDark
I go there often as well & totally get this feeling Dan. Just keep chipping away. I sometimes insert our profession into Edmund Burke’s quote, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good educators to do nothing” Fight the good fight #bethechange#edtechafterdark
Thanks for a great 2017!!! We are looking forward to an awesome 2018! Thanks to @danvkoch and @alexstubenbort for sticking with me through thick and thin! #edtechafterdark
