Happy Sunday morning! I'm up and ready to enjoy a great discussion on #sunchat!! Susan from the Jersey Shore ready to discuss Current Events! 6th grade ELA
Hello again! My name is Bethany and I’m a third grade teacher @HillsideLCPS In grad school for my masters in administration @ODUMonarchLEAD excited to start chatting with all of you! #sunchat
We still don't understand how to use instruction as formative assessment. What Makes Formative (In)Formative? The Black Box 15 Years Later https://t.co/iqzRYl3lZD#sunchat
Hi everyone! I am a student at Kent State and I am studying special education. This is my first tweet chat and I am excited to learn from you all! #sunchat
First of all, we must try to understand them and make feel that we are at their side. I'm trying to be more friendly, and trying to give empathetic responses. #sunchat#educhat
Jumping from #hacklearning to #sunchat! For those who don't know me, I'm Alex, 21st Century Teaching and Learning Coordinator in Freeport, IL. Joining you live from St. Louis, MO, where we are celebrating a niece's birthday and a nephew's Cub Scout blue and gold banquet.
Also some teachers may make labeling as "technology addicted" or "lazy" because of their academic success but these are just the results of their problems. It should be approached in a holistic perspective, #sunchat#educhat
Visual thinking💭 and doodling✏️ to learn have endless potential👊🏻💥...Join me on the #ShiftThis chat Tuesday Feb. 26th 7pmCST as we idea talk💬 all the ways📚 we can use it to shift learning📖 and thinking🙄 in our classrooms🚍!
Hi! My department is is Psychological Counseling and Guidance. I'm third class student and doing an internship at high school. There are a lot of fainting cases in high school students. Families can't understand adolescent syndromes. They have future concerns. #sunchat#educhat
Good morning, #sunchat. I'm Brian. I teach middle-school students English in Colorado. When it comes to where to begin with teaching current events (or anything), I figure it's always worthwhile to start with purpose(s) -- Why? -- and build from there.
Breadline Bernie is the D front runner today, but the same donkeys who stole his 2016 nomination are about to the Maduro tail on him now.
Equivocating on regime change in Venezuela is the 1st nail in Bernie’s recycled wood coffin.
Huge.
#FNS#Sunchat
Teaching current events as a humanities T is easily embedded into instruction. What structures do Ts put into place when a controversial topic is discussed? #sunchat
I love ‘seeing’ so many students here. Imagine all of the resources and support they will find here before they even begin their journey! Great that so many value the space that has been created here! #sunchat
This topic is super important to me as a history and govt teacher, but we don’t own this topic. CE can be discussed in every croom! But it requires adaptation- we have to be ready to talk when they happen! What are the best strategies out there for teaching CE? #sunchat
For me, it starts with students understanding the idea of the Johari window. That all of us have blind spots. Others know things we do not. Including about ourselves #sunchat
I completely agree! Starting with the Why gives purpose for learning. My last year In the classroom I made my objective board into a target 🎯 that explained the Why, What, and How for each lesson. It was a great conversation starter for my kids. #sunchat
Show a brief current event every day. Some days it just keeps my students informed, other time it opens up a discussion such as the one posted which led to a talk about Tinker vs. Des Moines & their 1st Am. rights as students in school #sunchathttps://t.co/x9cByPcIJo
I think it is really important for teachers to model agreeing disagreeably and how all thoughts are valued but untruths will be stated as such. #sunchat
In addition, before talking about current events, we talk about the concept of “emotional triggers” and I will ask students at the beginning of the section to think through the things that cause them to react #sunchat
I'm wondering if any age is too young to teach current events or if there is an age where we need to make sure we are teaching them. A high school student told me he doesn't care about current events because he can't vote yet. Sigh. #sunchat
Hard topics are often awkward. Rule #1 for me is ASK what a person means before you ASSUME the worst. What they asked or offered may have come out the wrong way but they may not see/hear it that way. Find out why. Find out more. Change each other. #sunchat
I feel that teaching current events is tough in elementary school, unless you’re teaching 4th or 5th grade. I try to discuss current events aligned with our VA SOLs, but you have to be careful not to be opinionated about certain things! #sunchat
Biggest thing with "teaching" CE is the amount of context and background knowledge it often takes. how about using it as a #geniushour prompt that allows Ss to track an issue over the course of a few weeks/months and then present somehow. CE is rarely one and done. #sunchat
I’m with @writenoelle! Modeling and encouraging civic discourse is so key to activities involving CE! We’ve become a culture afraid to talk; we should be talking, we just need to change the way we talk! #sunchat
Finally; we practice. I will usually ask them to discuss the “difference between a cookie and a cracker” or “is the hotdog a sandwich” and when they get excited and passionate we will talk about it. #sunchat
As long as it is relatable for the specific age it should be okay. There are amazing Early grade age Ss that have already developed a passion for important issues. They will be the change makers of the future - maybe sooner rather than later. #sunchat
Hello, My name is Suzan and I am from İstanbul, Turkey. My department is psychological counseling and guidance. I'm third grade student. #pcg304#sunchat
To teach CE, Clsrm culture = top priority. Ts model & begin to help est that culture w honest discussion. The Qs that come from a rich discussion about relevant current topics can take learning AND listening to new levels. Critical to encourage beyond just SS & ELA. #sunchat
For example in relationships they could understand the events falsely, so they could give indirect information. There were a case like that. At the end we notice some mispoints via of interviewing with other students. #sunchat#educhat
That is a great question. I think there are probably certain ages where it would be hard to engage in certain current topics. I think we have to help them connect like anything which helps them care #sunchat
A lot of times when discussing controversial issues, we lose sight of the emotional and personal impact those topics have. We want to have logos based discussions but they end up being pathos. Which, by the way, is another framework to scaffold these conversations #sunchat
Resources & mindset via Jeff Zwiers often inform my practice w/students in this regard: Set expectations that, instead of debating, we're trying to build best possible ideas as thinking gets clearer, stronger the more we talk. 1/2 #sunchat
Norms & protocols are a must for any (potentially) challenging conversation. It gives us something that unites us to fall back on when we are expressing different views. #sunchat
My enjoyment in current event discussions is playing devil's advocate. I question a student's opinion & another chimes in agreement only to find me questioning & seemingly contradicting what I just said. The tension gets their gears moving & opens critical thought #sunchat
My most successful way of teaching current events was to have my students do their own news show. Our Current Events pagehttps://www.cybraryman.com/currentevents.html Our News page https://t.co/7Mihz7FotX Our Fake News page https://t.co/rL9DiuOqY8#sunchat
#sunchat in my ed classes, we've discussed this. We decided that all children should know about important events, even at age 3 or 4. We have to bring the content to their level of understanding and introduce it in a way that is relevant to their lives (but not scary)
I really appreciate the new Illinois social science standards that group topics around a growing awareness of the world around us: kindergarten starts with family and it expands to the nation by fifth grade, then world in middle grades. I think this will help! #sunchat
As a third grade teacher, I like to give my students the opportunity to write persuasive speeches to me about their thoughts on topics learned that involve CE! Right now, we are discussing energy sources! #sunchat
Conversation's purpose is growing understanding, rather than winning. Further resources from Zwiers about what he calls "constructive conversations": https://t.co/Im5P6H4Whz 2/2 #sunchat
Although I teach math and rarely able to bring in current events that match my curriculum, I love using protocol such as Say Anything to help discuss constructively. #sunchat
#sunchat Bring in your government officials to discuss topics. We have been fortunate to have both Indiana State Senator District 7 Brian Buchanan and Indiana US Senator Todd Young speak with our students. Gave students an opportunity to address their leaders about issues.
It's vital to have flexible structures that allow students to engage relevant current events as they arise. Being able to meaningfully connect classroom learning to events outside of it is classroom time + space well spent. This is also a good place for student choice #SunChat
I start with a morning meeting in my classrom, then ask...'what are your thoughts about___?' ... see what Ss are aware of currently in the news, and then proceed from there. @CNN10 is also a fantastic current event resource- the icing on that cake is @CarlAzuzCNN puns! #sunchat
In one of my math classes, we recently explored a website that helps teachers tie in current events to math activities. I think we often associate CE to being taught in a SS classroom, when that doesn’t have to be the case. It could be just as effective in any classroom. #sunchat
In my opinion, it's hard to teach to any age that hasn't developed their own critical thinking meaning they are just regurgitating what they hear at home. I can be very difficult for young kids to understand how different news sources say different things. #sunchat
Ss can't wait to learn what they need to know when they hit the voting age. Understanding how the country's / world's issues are evolving *now* informs them how to vote when they get to voting age.
#sunchat
Good morning #sunchat! I think it can be tough at times engaging our young students in current event topics. I am curious to hear about strategies used by elementary school teachers!
I know we have some SS teachers in here, so I'm curious - how would you think about incorporating current events into other subjects? I believe we teach STUDENTS, not content, but I also want the majority of our time in my classroom to be tied to my standards (music). #sunchat
For example in relationships they could understand the events falsely, so they could give indirect information. There was a case like that. At the end we notice some mispoints via of interviewing with other students. #sunchat#edchat
#sunchat We did a cultural conversation with a class in Monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽 over current events. It was good for our students to see different international views and learn to agree to disagree. Issues discussed were the wall and the 2nd Amendment.
Teaching current events has completely morphed in the past decade with the acceleration of social media and the idea that anyone can be a journalist. However, there is still a need to teach learners to seek truth and to read and listen with a critical eye and ear #sunchat
The #BookCampPD#PLN would be thrilled if you would join us later today when we discuss @TaraMartinEDU 's book and Tara is going to join us!
Haven't read the book? Resources to learn more about it are here w/ this week's questions. https://t.co/HgsXDRXjQM#SunChat#edchat
I would add that creating the ‘norms’ for those convos help all Ss involved assume that ‘positive intent’ that is needed when discussing issues that can trigger emotions. Love restorative circles for some of these convos. #sunchat
Something that has been transferable to any age from early childhood classes is that we should be teaching in a child-centered manner, making sure that material we introduce is relevant to their lives and of interest to them, & helps them make connections across subjects #sunchat
I'm blown away with how little students know about what is happening around them. I used to learn so much from dinner discussions with my parents. Do kids not eat dinner at a table with adults anymore? If not, it shows. If not deep knowledge, at least word recognition. #sunchat
My district has a subscription to NBC Learn. It is a library of news videos with transcripts. It’s a great way to integrate technology with current events! #sunchat
Another great resource is @ChoicesProgram! I love their deliberation mentality and process- inform/research context, consider multiple options for an issue, and then deliberate the merits of each. Hits CE but also emphasizes important skills! #sunchat
My students will often connect what our learning to current events in their Commonplace Books, which is a choice-based writing journal that takes different forms + contains some sort of visual. It's a space for them to really make sense of their learning + their world. #SunChat
We use music (printed lyrics & song) as way to dive into topics. When Ss begin analyzing from an author/artist perspective the disc. INVITES new perspectives- a great way to explore current events. Must have context and historical bckgrnd. Honor other points of view. #sunchat
When Russia annexed Crimea a few yrs ago, connected it to what we were learning (Byzantine Empire=Russia, Holy Roman Empire=NATO). My pride was a girl who was struggling academically that yr explaining to my principal the current event & the connections to the past #sunchat
#sunchat We did a cultural conversation with a class in Monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽 over current events. It was good for our students to see different international views and learn to agree to disagree. Issues discussed were the wall and the 2nd Amendment.
#sunchat We also did a cultural conversation with a class in Argentina 🇦🇷 over the issue of gender inequality in our sociology class. Great discussion. Lots of similar opinions and thoughts in this discussion.
Our Current Events page (fixed link) https://t.co/ngoyrHI7EJ Our Evaluating Information page https://t.co/z732gOLIYa We need to teach our students how to evaluate the information they find online and offline to see if it is valid. #sunchat
Ironically, this student is taking driver's education right now and that was pretty much his approach to that, too. Teachers have got to do a better job of helping students develop interest now in things that will matter even more later. #sunchat
#sunchat As a teacher I try to discuss and teach the importance of reliable sources. Do any of your have any suggestions regarding this topic?
#EDET543
I teach U.S. History to sixth graders. February has been a surreal month. My classroom has been ground zero for the following: #BlackHistoryMonth2019
Examining slavery/U. S. Constitution
Current events of Virginia’s political leaders #sunchat
This is a great idea that I’d like to try! I feel like this would be super engaging and you could easily add student choice, too. Thanks for the idea! #sunchat
There is statistical analysis - math.
There is the impact of technology - STEM
There is deeper research & reflection - ELA
There is creating an ad campaign - art
Creating a jingle to promote change or awareness - music
#sunchat
Students should be exposed to current events so that they have a better understanding of what is occurring in the world today. Unfortunately, I find that students today are not even interested in what is going on in the world around them! #sunchat
Dinner time is often in a car now more than around a table. I think it is still happening some how because kids seem to still believe what their parents do. #sunchat
Noticing threads about different perspectives & outlets for current events made me think of Newseum -- its collection of newspaper front pages from around the globe. https://t.co/k26HkN8Rol#sunchat
https://t.co/DP84EZTaaY
I loved the idea of incorporating CE in other classes. Throughout school, I loved learning about what was going on in the world around me and I never felt like one time slot on fridays was truly enough. #sunchat
you can help Ss understand the universal connection between life and music, seeing how artists incorporate world events into music. have Ss either write their own or use such music as source for analysis. #sunchat
I introduced students to the Little Rock 9 on Friday and showed an old Oprah clip where some of them faced their tormentors who 40 years later were there seeking forgiveness. Powerful! #sunchat#BlackHistoryMonth2019
I tell my kids its important to look for the same article on multiple sources from across the biases read the articles critically and look for the commonalities #sunchat
Our Current Events page (fixed link) https://t.co/ngoyrHI7EJ Our Evaluating Information page https://t.co/z732gOLIYa We need to teach our students how to evaluate the information they find online and offline to see if it is valid. #sunchat
Music is easy - many song lyrics draw on today's culture for inspiration. Compare songs of today with songs in the past - what is the message? How has it changed? How does it reflect culture? Are messages influential? What's the effect? #sunchat
I'm not saying you can't work it in. But that seems like a one-time thing to create a jingle, not a consistent practice. An interesting project idea that I might use, but I'm also interested in thoughts about how to make it relevant and authentic on a regular basis. #sunchat
Good morning -As a former Virginian, I encouraged my students to present "how to" speeches on sports, gaming, the military or health when was in grad school. Go Monarchs!
You can AWAYS make cross-subject connections and expand students' thinking and interests rather than cutting their learning off just because "now it's time for math" #SunChat

#sunchat As a general and AP Environmental Science Teacher, my students are required to research current environmental issues/articles (no more 6 months old) that are related to topics covered in class.
Agree! We use a responsive classroom model. For me, it is a forgone conclusion that there is a community of respect, safety, and risk-taking. But the emotional triggers and the inexperience with how to express some ideas complicate matters. Hence, Rule #1 #sunchat
Relationships drive our work and determine our effectivess with learners - kids. One learns best when there is a culture of care. #SunChat#BetterTogether
Not all music has lyrics :-). There are definitely still connections, but as an instrumental teacher, you have to search a little bit more to find them. #sunchat
Drawing on this idea, maybe a discussion as to how SM influences, the idea of fake news, how videos are edited, should we assume these are a good source, etc. Also, how we each can be good digital citizens with news and info we post as onlookers... #sunchat@clairecummings
Teaching current events has completely morphed in the past decade with the acceleration of social media and the idea that anyone can be a journalist. However, there is still a need to teach learners to seek truth and to read and listen with a critical eye and ear #sunchat
One of the toughest aspects of this topic is teaching about reliable sources. NY Times has great material related to “fake news” and WeAreTeachers has good stuff on recognizing bias. #sunchat
#sunchat As a teacher I try to discuss and teach the importance of reliable sources. Do any of your have any suggestions regarding this topic?
#EDET543
I think some of that is structural: students have been silenced + often schools don't trust them to engage in conversations about complex issues, when I find that trusting students + creating time + space for their voices on a regular basis really changes the dynamic. #SunChat
Well friends, the niblings have all awakened and are demanding their uncle's undivided attention, so I must depart. Thanks for the great conversations, friends! #sunchat
One of the teachers I learned about teaching the most was my Sophomore Lit teacher. I wondered why he was always starting class w/a story in the news, or about my son, it took me for dopey h.s. me to realize it always connected to the reading we were working w/that day #sunchat
I don’t know that I wouldn’t discuss something, but I do set a few universal rules regarding discussion- I’m not going to allow discussion that is racist, sexist, extreme nationalistic, homophobic, essentially hate-fueled. I won’t let it seem that I find it ok. #sunchat
That was a single example. Have them create a rap to express their thoughts on a topic. Have them find an instrumental that matches their emotions. I was just responding to how to integrate across the curriculum.
#sunchat
#sunchat there are aspects of certain topics I wouldn't discuss with students based on age and maturity. While I might discuss the differences in ideas that are the basis of wars right now with my kindergarteners, I would focus on the interpersonal aspects not the details of war
There should be very few topics that are off limits in the class room we need to be able to educate and keep an open dialog so students can come to us if they need to the hardest part about what not to teach is keeping bias out #sunchat
This website has bank of FAB resources. Wondering how much it costs for a personal subscription? @NBCNewsLearn want to offer some freebies to this #PLN ? #SunChat#BetterTogether
The other issue is that we don't value lived experience enough, so there's a disengagement that comes along with that. If students have time + space + can bring relevant, meaningful parts of their identity into the classroom, the conversations are more successful. #SunChat
I am a psychological counselor candidate in training. I do my internship in a kindergarten. So, it is challenging to take the attention the youngsters as you can guess. I hold guidance classes generally with my mentor supporting me or... #pcg304#sunchat
#sunchat one of my favorite lessons was having Mike Eruzione speak to us. We used his visit plus the study of the Cold War to look at the current tensions today between the US and Russia. Honored to have him speak to my students the last 5 years!
https://t.co/9jMOLVu7SN
A2. Tackling tough stuff means to be willing to tell the truth with love. It’s not about trying to soften hard truths. We need to be courageous enough to say as leaders this is really hard but I have a responsibility to lead with honesty. Now let’s get it done. #leadupchat
Concept is less about agreeing all the time; more about how to sharpen understanding collaboratively, including differing views, versus talking past each other in zero-sum game. More here: https://t.co/8HzFm8xolS#sunchat
Such a great point. I guess I wondered if people would discuss racism or sexism as a topic though. Some people find talking about it as a subject to analyze scary to do because it may turn into a bad discussion. #sunchat
Curriculum development is a never-ending process. Curriculum planners constantly strive for the ideal. As the needs of learners change, as society changes, as technology unfolds, and as new knowledge appears, the curriculum must change. #sunchat#pcg304#curriculum
If we teach students the skills + set up frameworks for meaningful discussions, we must trust students to have courageous + complex conversations about their world. I use the Harkness model in my classes where students create a discourse community + lead conversations. #SunChat
#sunchat Pretty willing to discuss anything, but I’ve learned to be very careful when religion is part of the topic. Have to walk a line between very devout beliefs some students have and the lack of specific knowledge about the other religions of other students.

Agree! If we cannot allow for civil disagreement in the classroom where there is guidance and mentoring how can we expect it to take place in society. #sunchat
Sometimes https://t.co/QXnAUBD9Yp, when I am alone actually I feel anxious due to not managing the classroom.Especially with 4 years, it becomes very difficult to take their attention. So, before holding a class I try to find or make up engaging activities.. #pcg304#sunchat

1 way I intro CE in my class is by tying it to the past. T 1st grade needs some caution & their level for understanding. Our local newspaper gives us papers. Ss receive current events as well as a story from the past to connect to current. #EDET534#sunchat

#sunchat Also, we have had Congressman John Lewis speak, thanks to my former colleague and great friend @1988project. Focused on his role in the civil rights movement, March on Washington and his associate with Dr. King. Talked about the continuing fight on issues today.
Students eat dinner with their mobilephones or computers. I am a intern at secondary school and our student profile like I said. What do you think about the situation? How could we get eating culture to students? #edchat#sunchat
Coming back later to read more, #sunchat. Need to get myself together for 4.5 hours of Little League umpire training. On that note, I'm "OUT!"
Have a great week!
In order to make them focus and not bored. For example, when I talk about feelings, I bring different face photocopies and we start with coloring, then I ask their thoughts etc. But there is lack of activities shared on internet for preschoolers in guidance area. #pcg304#sunchat
I think this is a great point teaching students it's ok to think differently and how to have a discussion where we can disagree respectfully is crucial today #sunchat
A T who establishes a clsrm culture that can build & learn from tough convos where S voice is central = all-star. okay to disagree. We learn from other perspectives when we admit we don’t understand. A T is MVP when modeling listening & learning w Ss. #Sunchat
The teacher withdraws from the conversation to takes notes or sketch involvement + students work to build a viable discourse community among one another (asking questions, upholding norms, including all voices). It's totally student-centered + student-directed. #SunChat
I don’t think that I would put limits to students. They are part of CE and they should be aware but croom environment should be respectful and there should be mutual respect between students. #sunchat#PCG304
I do too but I don’t know if parents are preventing classrooms from doing it sometimes or educators just scared about what will happen. Current events today is full of hard topics that we have to figure out as a nation. #sunchat
Outcomes I can envision of wrestling w/gray: I understand ins & outs of complex issue more clearly than I did before; I feel empathy for those directly impacted; sense of what I can do next to respond comes into focus; I realize new questions I now need to ask. #sunchat
Another great resource is @ChoicesProgram! I love their deliberation mentality and process- inform/research context, consider multiple options for an issue, and then deliberate the merits of each. Hits CE but also emphasizes important skills! #sunchat
Ss may show more of an interest in current events if you find a video & connect it to something they're learning about. We read "Refugee" & the migrant caravan in the news brought it to life. My Ss took their curiosity beyond the classroom! #sunchat
0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
That is so true. I think that is the case for some other topics as well though. I think it just boils down to any topic where their are hard core beliefs. #sunchat
It is a great point. I think croom management skills also have effect on these discussions. Being an authoritative teacher would help to manage quality discussion. #sunchat#PCG304
There are activities such as sea level rise where students can map flooding in their areas. As an elementary school teacher, you can have students brainstorm some causes of flooding. Then maybe present information from an article to further their knowledge. #sunchat
Thanks, #sunchat friends, for sticking with me as I try to work out what I'm trying to say. I think that many arts teachers struggle with feeling like collaboration = "Here is our content, can you tie it into your art/music class?" Very rarely is it asked...(1/2)
I’m a psychological counselor student and I am doing my internship at shool. According to my experiences, they are not eating dinner with their parents. They prefer eating dinner in front of the television or eating dinner while they are playin their ipads. #sunchat#pcg304
(2/2)..."What are your standards and goals for your class, and how can we use our content to help you meet your goals?" How could we increase collaboration so it really goes both ways? #sunchat
Also, there is the Litter Pick up project. Have students brainstorm the negative impact of litter of aquatic life. Follow this up with a short video on water pollution and have students write about solutions. #sunchat
It's important for us to model + give students chances to practice. In a reading framework that I use, I ask students to disagree + problematize part of the text. I also want them to look at things they agree with more critically, so they paraphrase their agreement 3x. #SunChat

Hi @tamaraletter ... just me again ...😊another fav part ... why??? B/c it takes risk in putting ourselves out there & your writing is like giving peeps like me the support to do so ❤️TY
As an extra there is a website that sharing CE. It has to be https://t.co/z5YvckYfFK I suppose. Students may find these type of news interesting and they may tend to look at it at least. #sunchat#PCG304
For me, it starts with students understanding the idea of the Johari window. That all of us have blind spots. Others know things we do not. Including about ourselves #sunchat
Agree on the dinner part, but also the shared exp of news sources is gone. My parents and I got news from the same source, S today get news from diff sources then P and often don't cover the same areas. It's like a generational news source gap. #sunchat
Totally agree, Ken. As we learn new vocabulary, I tell the kids to go home and use it during dinner to see if their parents know what it means. We call it "impressive vocabulary" - trying to impress the 'rents! LOL - #sunchat@DrKennethKunz
The lack of dinnertime quality conversations is also having an adverse affect on students’ vocabulary development. We have to put the phones away and communicate!
this is awesome I really think the second part is so powerful so many of us say we agree this must be right making them analyze and think critically about what they agree with is so powerful! #sunchat

I remember a professor of mine addressing this topic and opening up dialogue for us to discuss whether we believed a video right away or went to try to find context and explore it more. This was the first time anyone had introduced this idea to me #sunchat
But a great way to discuss the differences in what they understand to be the event... What a door opener for discussion (IF they even speak to each other!). Definitely a breakdown in our culture right now. #sunchat
it's very sad how little students know last semester my college professor asked who Jamal Khashoggi as a bonus question on the final and 2 students knew the answer it was very sad #sunchat
I agree. Keep the information at the surface level. Let it be a process. Middle school and High school will give them a deeper understanding. At least you have exposed them. #sunchat
If students express their answers in the classroom in a democratic and respectful way by thinking in a classroom environment, students' self-confidence increases as new and beautiful ideas emerge. #sunchat#pcg304
when I was a kid in Canada I remember there were commercials that taught us about critical thinking and heritage and safety. One of the critical thinking commercials I will never forget was the North American House Hippo https://t.co/SZSMD6x9Fv#sunchat#gen2108
I think in the classroom the goal should be affective teaching, and guiding, motivating students. If we feel them happy they could trust themselves and use their capacities much more. About colloboration there could be much more group activities. #edchat#sunchat
