Hi there #K12artchat#PLN! I'm Amy, Elem art T in CT hosting tonight!
Introduce yourself and tell us about one thing you have done for rest and relaxation this summer!
I love to relax at the beach... this is #Follybeach in South Carolina :)
Check in w/ @atragg as she hosts #K12ArtChat in 30 mins! Maybe you can even check off a few from your bingo card. Plus, enter for a chance to win a pass to Education Closet's online conference!
Q1: I am currently re-reading over a book our Principal gave us this past year called The Energy Bus by @JonGordon11 - It is a super positive read and having this mentality to start off the new school year will lead to a more energized & successful environment #k12artchat
A1: I'm reading Switch and A Curious Mind.
Switch discusses how to promote change. It's a bit hard to get into, but I'm still reading :)
A Curious Mind really makes you think about the relationships between curiosity, imagination & innovation.

A2: I have been diving into weaving lately! Here's cotton dishtowels, in progress on my Cricket loom. I have small Crickets at school for students!

This book outline 10 rules to follow to enjoy the most out of this crazy ride we call life! which includes family, career, your team/class, etc. It is an easy read, keeps your attention and isn't difficult to follow #k12artchat#theenergybus
Hello! Lora from nj - this summer is not relaxing at all! Big changes ahead for me so lots of prep to be ready! Hoping for a little relaxation soon though! I am painting through the chaos though! #K12ArtChat
A2: currently working on trip journal. Traveled all around with the family. Fun thinking about silly stuff that we did and stories about our trip! #K12ArtChat
Q2: I loved playing with a Copic Marker set, working with illustrating - hoping to incorporate them with my Mixed Media Class (Sorry I can't find my images right now) #k12artchat
A3: I created rock sculptures in the https://t.co/a9SIz11UXb gallery in Charleston.
There were beautiful, smooth rocks on a table with a sign that said, "PLEASE CREATE YOUR OWN ROCK STACK"
So cool! Idea for a choice art center, too! #k12artchat
A2 ALWAYS OILS. Currently working on a piece for a call about the opioid epidemic in my state. But, I reconnected with pastels and ink this week while helping with a portfolio bootcamp at @TylerConted#K12ArtChat

Q1&2 Linda from WI
I am reading magazines and online this summer. I did read this book when I found out they sell bone broth at the drugstore....I don't have time to boil the bones down. Hope to reset my gut.
Favorite material might be burlap bags my sister can get
Road trip for us
To Virginia we went
To see Grammy & PopPop
Lots of Money was spent
We had lots of fun
Even though the drive was long
Six hours in the car
Just singing the same song #k12artchat
A4:
Took a road Trip
Was nice and cool! Visited the school were I met my love. Now in the heat w/ humidity of 80 percent and above. Yuck! #K12ArtChat@WesternColoU@GrundlerArt
A4: It took us 9hours at night. We jammed out to 80s as sleep we did fight. Over 800 miles we drove in 3 cars. A new life in Florida we have started so far. #K12ArtChat
A1: I just finished reading "Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome" by Dr. Joy DeGruy and I'm half way through "The End of Men and the Rise of Women" by Hanna Rosin #k12artchat
A6: My lesson idea comes from seeing John Trumbull's portrait of Washington in Charleston's city hall... they call it "Trumbull's Revenge" (look at the horse!)
https://t.co/J4XsAcabnF#k12artchat
My students will love seeing images of Trumbull's work and this story! #arthistory
Stopped off to see #KeithHaring’s Mural Collaboration with Chicago School students while in Chicago for #ISTE18 (edited with @instagram & @snapseed I like to layer & mix apps for photo editing) #K12ArtChat
A6: I have found an app that helps you to test designs like in a wind tunnel! Especially for cars, planes. Not sure where to take me yet. But was fun to think about.#K12ArtChat any other app suggestions?
A6: Met my new co- art teacher(ceramics) and we chatted about our shoes. Doing a lesson about culture and heritage based on shoes that define us. Can't wait! #K12ArtChat

A4: We were going to take a DC trip but decided to work around the house this year (it took a week for our "she-shed" to be built, but it makes me happy because all her tools are put away). We saw the Whispers (pic) in June & will see the Isleys Saturday. #k12artchat
