A1 Hi! I'm Katie Cahill and I am a K-5 technology integration specialist in Mundelein, IL. This is my first ever #SeesawChat. I'm still new to Twitter.
Q2-With my MS elective Activitieshas been the best. They can easily follow directions and can work at their own pace. I don’t have to stop and explain assignments! ❤️❤️❤️#seesawchat
I love that the activity feature gives me an easy way to monitor their progress, while the kiddos are enjoying it. Love that parents are able to see work done immediately. #SeesawChat

A2 I also like being able to assign some assessments, and then I can see who has completed them or who still needs to complete. Putting them in journals also allows families to see learning and growth. This is a high frequency word assessment: #seesawchat
I took a picture of an activity that I bought from @TpTdotcom and instead of running copies they just did it using the drawing and labeling feature. They were looking at the picture and circling the correct word. Some even read the words using the mic. #SeesawChat#iteachk
I'm new to Seesaw, but I've noticed that most Ts are using the Seesaw app with tablets. I have one-to-one laptops in my classroom. Has anyone successfully implemented Seesaw w laptops? Any tips? #seesawchat
Q3-These templates frim @KSzajner are great for reading activities. The teachers at my school love them and can be used with different grades! #seesawchat
A3 haven't used it yet, but someone shared a great template for practicing spelling words. Ss will use the 🎤 to read the word, trace/write the word, etc #seesawchat
A2 I've actually created more of my own activities than used the pre-made ones. Is there a limit to the number of activities we can have in our class? @seesaw#seesawchat
A3: the activity feature of @Seesaw allows for teachers to provide varied levels of supports for students to be able to access the task and complete it at their own level of confidence. #seesawchat
We have also used seesaw to work on our vocabulary. Students fill in the sentence frame, draw a picture and record themselves reading their sentence. #SeesawChat#SeesawActivities
We use both iPads and laptops with Seesaw. It depends on our purpose. Typing a note - we use laptops with keyboards. Drawing and labeling - we'll probably choose to use the iPads. #seesawchat
#seesawchat Q4-4th Gr teacher with autistic student loved that he could listen to the directions often. Also, he could draw pictures along with writing.
Many of my new Ts on @Seesaw waited till Conferences to introduce parents. The Parents enthusiasm had many teachers asking me how they could use it more. ❤️ for Seesaw is contagious !!#seesawchat

A5- I love having students share their Hooks! Then I have students make comments on fellow students starters. After revisions, they were very “catchy’ starters!#seesawchat
Q5: we brainstormed personal narrative ideas & the next day recorded all the details we could remember. We listened back to our videos when we wrote our rough drafts. #SeesawChat
A5 I'm going to have my kids publish their writing in Seesaw. My kids use the 1:1 QR code login. I made an activity so the kids just need to work on typing their writing as a caption, clicking on "edit" to revise and edit as they go. They'll add a drawing at the end. #seesawchat

A6-I’ve been thinking of having students use it to say how they liked short stories we’ve read. It would be interesting to see what they’d say. Haven’t ever asked if they enjoyed the stories. #seesawchat
A6 Sometimes I have my students do a response to share their thinking about a read aloud. It helps to hear what everyone is thinking, especially for those quiet kiddos who don't like to share in front of everyone... yet. #seesawchat
A7-Use a template or worksheet to get started. Get a copy of shortcuts to write directions. Ask students if they have suggestions to make directions clearer! They’ll love helping you out😀#seesawchat
That's actually why I started having the kids do reader's responses in Seesaw as an activity. Some still don't like to share in a small group, or forget their thinking before we meet again. @Seesaw helps capture their thinking in the moment. #seesawchat
