A5 #engagechat Have parents chaperone field trips- this week I really got to know 12 parents by just having the opportunity to talk to them in a relaxed and fun setting. Having positive & trusting relationships with parents makes all the difference.

A5: A parent brought the idea of starting a girl group for a class that had very few girls. She created a brilliant curriculum. It grew to involve the local Dojo Master leading a similar boy group. Closing ceremonies, fancy teas, running club. Creativity expands! #engagechat

A5b-Twitter/@instagram & other forms of social media allow parents to see what is happening in realtime. Ask parents to use images from the day as conversation starter instead of asking, "What did you do today?" Kids can't say "nothing" if parents see something cool! #engagechat
