YES!! Absolutely! They are easy to set up and FUN to play.
I can't wait to do the If You Take a Mouse to School game. . I also made a media orientation one.

A3 Definitely teamwork and collaboration...they can exercise whatever content skill you can bake into the activity itself!
A3: PBL innovation group and peer collaboration and student leadership
A3: can be used for all subjects and all grade levels. There's beauty in that for educators!
A3 Collaboration, critical thinking, questioning, problem solving https://t.co/6CPPQpyhnV
Q3: Which learning skills do games utilize?
Excellent point, Laurie!! So far, I’ve used is grades 3-12.
Also several are already planned. Just need to get the resources.
A3 Problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication are a few.
Yes. That is a very critical one. Thanks for pointing that out.

YES!!! The students were so determined last year, they refused to give up.
Thanks for sharing! I look forward to reading this.
A4: I'd really like to build some PD ones for teachers.
A4 I need more experience before taking that step https://t.co/Oxe7SCIqZU
Q4: Have you created any of your own games? Please describe them.
You're talking on tonight? You better sign and I to mod on digital at some point https://t.co/zzAA55oplZ
Q4: Have you created any of your own games? Please describe them.
I was going to challenge my students to create their own to give to the rest of the class.
A4: I haven’t created any of my own games….YET :-)
I would love to have my Ss create their own games eventually.
A4: all the ones I have used are mine. My favorite was the search for the lost comic book stash in Ss loved it
I'd love more info when your done with that
Joining late. Just got back from open house. Been off Twitter refreshing myself. Glad to join again
That is a great idea, Mari!I’m sure would LOVE to sign you both up to mod a digital breakout
6 groups. Once one group figured out the clue they locked the box back for the next group. I made multiple clues.
Q5: Have you encountered any struggles with BreakoutEDU along the way? How have you overcome them?
A5 Big challenge was making sure all students were involved.
A5 Making sure Ss have some success while also teaching them to persevere https://t.co/OSYfVjWQNI
Q5: Have you encountered any struggles with BreakoutEDU along the way? How have you overcome them?
Yes, I encountered that as well. This is why I love following up a physical game with a digital game.
I feel the same way. This is like walking a tight-rope. :-)
A5 Time is my biggest problem. I only have 45 minutes with them and 15 minutes of that is checkout.
Very cool!! I’d like to see that media orientation one.
Do you have any suggestions to help with this?
A5: I had a few students who rather break the locks than solve them.
I created one on decimals last year for my fifth graders
I try to give subtle clues before a lot of frustration occurs. I want them to try, but not to CRY and quit.
No... what structures do you use now to prevent that?
hysterical...and ingenious, if not frustrating for those of us who have to purchase the replacement!
Q6: What have you learned about classroom management when using Breakout EDU games?
A5: Ss telling others the answers. Overcome? Change from class to class
Thanks so much for sharing, Rosy. I can’t wait to check this out!!
Thanks for sharing, Angie!! I can’t wait to check it out.
A6 I just learned to give clues before tears https://t.co/dSDM5zUaF8
Q6: What have you learned about classroom management when using Breakout EDU games?
SMART. I wouldn't have thought of that
I've made dinner me other ones but they're not nicely organized like this one!
We encountered this problem too. Had to create a competition to see which class period could open the box fastest.
A6 Being SAFE and being aware when things get a little too intense...
A6 You have to understand that they are going to be excited. Set limits at the beginning w/the first rule as "HAVE FUN and LEARN"
Thanks for sharing, Rosy. You rock!!
brilliant! Adds another competition layer https://t.co/XpzzMP9uHr
We encountered this problem too. Had to create a competition to see which class period could open the box fastest.
A6: Engagement decreases issues from some Ss who struggle with normal lessons
Yes, I tell Ss the same thing. Ts also must be prepared for a higher noise level. Engagement isn't always quiet. :-)
A6: set limits on certain parts but allow exploration on the fun
Here is a facilitators tip Padlet that was shared in another chat by . It is wonderful.
Thanks, Laurie! It really made a difference. Ss didn't want to give anything away. :-)
A6 In another chat I heard people considering doing a week long breakout where they solve a clue a day.
Awesome!! Please share the link :-)
Q7: Do you have any Breakout EDU hacks (tips) for newbies? Please explain.
that's an interesting idea. I plan on doing a Trivia Tuesday for students...hadn't thought to use
A7 Follow for more ideas. He created a lot of the ones on the site.
I am going to create signs this year. I love these.
