A2 Awesome screenshot Chrome app for screen captures but not recording

-
-
Hey, team! Joining late, & may have to bail early, but always enjoy the chat.
-
-
-
-
reluctant MS Ts?! I have my MS Ss hooked, they want to screencast everything!
-
IDK why my IT isn't considering them, not even on our 1:1 pilot list.
-
A3: Prepare a loose script before, no rambling. Lots of visuals, not just long diatribes. Make sure no lawnmower/leaf blowers.
-
A3: Good audio is key, have a script, keep it short, be platform specific, make it useful, make it fun
-
A2: is a fav google extension. Works great on chromebooks, macs...
-
A3: Practice, learn from kiddos, make mistakes, good lighting and sound, script, plan, practice, redo,
https://t.co/G5NcF7h1rY
-
Hi joining the chat about screencasting a little late. Hi all!
-
-
A3- Speak slowly. Get a USB mic (blue yeti?) Know what you're going to say. Clear your throat before.
-
iPad only? We live in a society that requires the use of choosing right device so it is good to expose Ss to this.
-
A3: Not sure, but I would imagine storyboarding and writing script would make a better product https://t.co/tMkSDyCLbN
-
-
you go! Folder w/3 Kinder screencasts! Fave is kinderscreencast, Kansas1 is my cute kid ;)
-
you go! Folder w/3 Kinder screencasts! Fave is kinderscreencast, Kansas1 is my cute kid ;)
-
we MUST be able to make quick GIFs...at a moment's notice! FTW!
-
-
we deployed 3000 this year - had to replace 14 screens - not too bad! half the price of iPads
-
Same to you! Seems like a long time ago (:
-
Tools that play nice with Google and go right to my Drive are always awesome in my book!
-
-
A3: bullet talking points, delete is your friend, don't take yourself too seriously, have fun
-
My favorite three tools for screencasting are 1) Camtasia (its a beast!) 2) Explain Everything (super robust) 3) Screencastify
-
Yes, and then you have a hard copy and one you can share with others.
-
. I need GIF training! is the key? https://t.co/mElO7dM2TN
-
-
we MUST be able to make quick GIFs...at a moment's notice! FTW!
-
A3 A quality mic isnt necessary but does make a difference. It's like listening in HD (stereo) vs Mono https://t.co/KoyUKoOFIM
-
-
hah! I DO love my Google backpack tho! can't believe I was 1 name off from Chromebook Coronado!
-
it's not a cost thing I'm interviewing the sup for pdcast, maybe he will spill on Y google hate.
-
Hey Jeremiah! Always an absolute pleasure to see you in even if its just for a few. :)
-
Hey Shea! Welcome welcome! Better late (and leave early) than never! That's the saying, right?
-
-
a3: Plan your screencast. Write a basic script. Cuts down on the "ums" or pauses.
-
-
I've never even touched one in real life! iPad...for the win! (in my world!)
-
-
Great points. Like the have fun. Remember you are not recording a TED Talk or college lecture.
-
-
ahhaahha I didn't even notice! Now that's amazing!
-
I have one Ss that does different voices in his, it's hilarious but content is on point
-
-
hahahha! Tom, bummed I didn't really get to chat w you in Orcutt the other weekend... you're a riot!
-
I've been unable to allow Ss to screencast - district blocked it -
-
A4: My YouTube channel for Ss to access long term. Usually put them on a Blendspace or GClassrm for current activity.
-
A3: Don't cover mic w/hand... my Ss would forget where mic on iPad was & we'd end up w/garbled audio https://t.co/gG04Jxc2qd
-
Ask and you shall receive a badge....
-
A4) For posting screencasts I like YouTube but used GDrive as well
-
-
A4) Its not really about where you screencasts are hosted its really about how you distribute them. So develop your website
-
A4: Drive then a link on Classroom, Ss listen to each other's, working on best way to give peer feedback, suggestions?
-
Having a plan is totally a good call!
-
A4: Mine float off into oblivion or live in my Drive/Youtube. Need to have more effective upload/sharing/organizing plan
-
really easy with GIF maker too
-
That’s right! Remember, we are trying to hypnotize people. Get a good mic.
-
A4- What said... Need to work on sharing them!
-
A4) Also, once your videos on YouTube, I recommend to put them into playlists so that they are easier to organize & share
-
Such a great tip- to make a solid screencast watch those filler words! https://t.co/dcyvUzQ9Md
-
-
a3: Plan your screencast. Write a basic script. Cuts down on the "ums" or pauses.
-
um, what do you , um, mean, um, filler?
-
A4: Mostly GDrive, Gclassroom, or post to a shared GDoc for other students to review. Share Settings! https://t.co/ejKUskDfBL
-
Agree with Playlists essential for organization. I always post my tutorial scasts in multiple platforms for Ss
-
thanks you ALWAYS provide a jackpot when I need info!
-
I've had the girls do full scripts, story boarding, then acting out before they make trailers..they love it
-
. is a great tool to use 👍
-
and more interpretive dancing!!!
-
is that ?!?!?? Holy smokes! much?
-
-
A4: screencasts live in a shared Google Drive folder, for Ts and Ss.
-
-
A4 iOS camera roll and then Google Drive for Ss and same for me but also Dropbox, YouTube and external HD for diversity
-
-
A4 our screen casts go straight to ......need policy change at school level to move them out further :o(
-
a4: Folder on Google Drive. Then I share link to video. Sometimes I upload to Youtube. Youtube lets you edit which is good.
-
-
External hard drive WAS so essential for years. Now GDrive has made me not bring my HD out in a long time
-
A3: quick script for main points, keep short ~3 min, quality audio, fun & helpful, then SHARE!!! https://t.co/qmEJAKE5x1
-
A4: I tended to post on my class website. Everything went on website so Ss could find whatever whenever https://t.co/qetsmFZfDu
-
So it's also true then that if the script don't fit must be rewrit
-
-
-
-
A4 Also share Ss products on websites and to the world with this hashtag
-
-
great advice! is your friend! Love it!!!
-
Websites are still essential as the PLACE where resources are housed
-
. how to share student screencasts to a hashtag from the great https://t.co/PwqMg4UcBY
-
-
A4 Also share Ss products on websites and to the world with this hashtag
-
Did you have to get any parent permission before posting Ss screencasts on public-acess platforms?
-
-
A4 cont: This yr I started YouTube channel for PD & training screencasts & put on website too
-
-
-
Good organization tip! Why make a bunch of screencasts if you can't find them again?! https://t.co/1uYGaFMuUj
-
-
A4) Also, once your videos on YouTube, I recommend to put them into playlists so that they are easier to organize & share
-

-
-

-
A5: Students read stories aloud, listen to themselves and peers to offer feedback.
-
Great question from Jody! and I were researching the same thing... Thoughts? https://t.co/6t6ADwXNdt
-
-
Would love your opinion...Is Explain Everything worth buying for the non-touchscreen Chromebooks we are about to purchase?
-
This seems perfect for foreign language classes as well...interesting
-
A5: our ELD T has Ss make screencasts to practice language, so many awesome uses for screencasting
