Coming from math I don't like GPS if it's used just to follow directions that someone else tells me (procedural understanding). I prefer the analogy of a map where I can see where I am, where I'm going, and several alternate routes, if needed (conceptual understanding). #MOedchat

A4: ideally you are hiring teachers who are actually ahead of others. @ToddWhitaker would say “you want your school to be like the new teachers, not the new t’s to become like the school” #moedchat
A4: Frequent check in’s, meetings geared to new Ts, building on their strengths, and don’t expect everything all at once. Best advice I had starting was the concept of spinning plates-get one going well before spinning the next plate. #MOedchat

I agree. My career as an educator isn't a sprint, it's like the Daytona 500. Know that sometimes everyone feels like they are running out of gas, but that's when you take a pit-stop. #moedchat
Surround them with support. It takes a village doesn't just apply to the students within that village, but for everyone in it. I like the team mentor idea so all can benefit. #moedchat
