Q1: Labor Day is a tribute to the contributions workers have made to the well-being of our country.
How will your students make a difference this year as they think about things that happen outside of the classroom? We’re talking service… #LeadLAP@BethHouf@burgess_shelley
A1: I'm honestly not sure yet. My Ss will make these decisions as they discover what they're passionate about. Hoping they will create waves though! #LeadLAP
A1: It starts with kindness. When we teach #KindnessMatters the students find way to serve each other and their community. We'll plan days of service but the students find ways to make our community better too #LeadLAP
A1- We're already kicking off service w/gr8 to restock our food pantry- they had amazing ideas when we put it in their hands... selling bags for food $10 and $20 donations! That will stock it quick #leadlap
A1: Here is a great thing our students did last year. They went to town council and asked that they reconsider saving the Colonial Lakelands because of the animal habitat and not make it a hotel https://t.co/uCmmFIynAg#LeadLAP

Ha! Yes you DO know, Sandy! Thanks for your kind words - sometimes it takes a really long time to get everything up and running for Ts and Ss when you’re also teaching classes and PD! #leadlap
A5. I have been learning so much as I present at different schools and different districts. I plan to keep that up this year and keep pushing my own boundaries for learning. Constantly looking at self improvement. #LeadLAP
Play Lazer tag, build pillow forts, and just be a mom. With seven children teacher mom balance can be hard. It's fun to support my kids and be the mom waving the cowbell. 😁 #LeadLAP

Family structure is a beautiful thing, something we can all value; yet we don't all have all the beautiful things in life. We can work towards building more of those things as we learn and grow together. #LeadLAP
A6-I’m hoping to use the weekend to focus on some personal goals so that I feel accomplished and ready to tackle professional goals in the coming weeks. Basically- this weekend is about “me time” so I’m ready for “we time” with my work fam!! #LeadLAP
A7: Looking forward to recognizing our Veterans in November. Also, although I'm not a big fan, our elementary kids love Halloween... so it's kind of a big deal. #leadLAP

Teachers will never be adequately valued, respected, and treated professionally in the community until they are in their schools... It begins with school district and school level leaders...

Ha! Oh yeah... I guess I did write a book somewhere in the mix of all that summer work, lol! You are sweet to ask! It will be released early 2019! So excited to share kindness with the world!! Can you even believe it?! #leadlap#passionforkindness
A7: We celebrate YOU day. Its a unique (I think) moment during the week set by our family to celebrate something small that happened on a single day. It can be huge to those who have a lot of struggles throughout the day to celebrate something small along the journey. #leadlap
A7) I love holidays and celebrating events. We have our first #crosscountry meet in October! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏾♂️ And our annual pumpkin patch trip! Yup high schoolers love it still! #LeadLAP
A8: PASSION- doesn't cost money BUT it is definitely essential for ALL... and needed for true engagement and student achievement & educator job satisfaction! #leadlap

Thanks @JayBilly2 for being the captain of the #leadlap ship today! Enjoy the weekend and rest up! It's time to find our horizon as we set sail on a new year! Good luck everyone!

A7-Homecoming and College Application Week are two that fine to mind. I think we need to work on making more at the HS level! Maybe they’d like to relive elementary school with the 100 Days celebration! 🤔😂 #LeadLAP
A8: Tough question. One thing I would want for my D that we don't have now is def a better sound system for multiple locations. Our presentations & workshops need a lapel mic, and we need something at our softball field (baseball has one). #LeadLAP@JayBilly2 stole my answer! :)
A6 Get some extra sleep! ("There ain't no tired like kindergarten tired!")
Plus, visit my dad (his 92nd birthday week), read (some for inspiration, some for fun), swim and enjoy our daughter and son-in-law's visit. #LeadLAP

A8) Honestly? Right now it would have to be AC! It's been the most incredible start to a year but it's also been the sweatiest for sure! Amazed by the Ss and staff-we all showed up for each other and embraced the last 3 days of learning together regardless. #leadlap

A8: Unlimited bus rides on the weekends. My students want to give back and I would love to be able to have a bus to take kids to areas of the community in need to give back every Saturday. It would be a joy bus. I know it's expensive but a girl can dream. 😁 #LeadLAP

A8 (BONUS): I'd want our entire community, state, and nation see & believe how hard our Ss and Ts work every single day! That we're creating good citizens, not focusing on making good test-takers. That a score doesn't define any school or student. #LeadLAP
