A6: we teach all coverages with option/rpo responsibilities built in. Kids have to understand the throw is same idea as pitch

A6: Can't answer that: we play 0 and pressure the box - still the best option in my book.

A6 Tough but requires lots of film and tendencies. Change who is run/pass to keep QB guessing and not straight reading

A6: our NB is aligned same side offset RB. Naturally he is an extra man in RPO passing windows/quick screens. We can play games.

A6 cont. Being an option guy, if QB can easily determine read, an average QB can make stellar reads

A6: we honestly do not see many RPOs, but our Quarters coverage seems to do a good job with bubble that we see.

If anyone is at the convention this weekend, let me know. I'd love to talk defense!

A6: Who do you want to have the ball? Take away #1 read (if you know what is). Varying/disguising split coverages help.

Q6: Since offenses want to cheat with RPOs, what ways have you been successful defending RPO besides playing cover 1 or 0?

Also find pointing out every OL was 9 yds downfield every time is illegal proves to be futile, yet therapeutic.

Understand what the RPO is trying to accomplish and teach the players the same thing so they understand

A6: Send pressure (playing cov 0 behind) confuse the front 5 pre-snap. Reads also change, LBs need to read mesh rather than guards

A5. 7 tech vs. TE. 3 tech strong, 1 tech weak, 6 teach weak side end. SS aligns 4x4 off of OT's foot. Key triangles.

A6) Reading the #2 verical threat tells you everything you need to know. You always have #'s vs the run âž• eyes on screens/ Routes!
